Love this family friendly, date night, friend hangout mini golf spot! Food is amazing and the tater tots are soooo good! Shave ice was on too. I loved the honey mustard sauce they give for your meat, it's very delicious and their brisket is amazing! Love the tables, benches and umbrella seating as well. The mini golf course was fun as well. A great inexpensive hangout with friends! Super fun course and the staff is great as well! I love it here, convenient location with parking right by the mall read more

It was very slow getting my food after ordering, even though I was 1 of 2 parties in the place (15 minutes). Then, I hit the trifecta! The food was mediocre, had small portions, and over-priced. I went for the brisket bento bowl with brisket and added a side of baked beans. For the $3.50 charge for the beans, I got literally 3 bites. The brisket was dry. read more

It has been a looooong time since I have been to tropics for outdoor mini golf. Pros: -nice family friendly activity open day and late at night -affordable to play and lasts ~1 to 2 hours -options for food and plenty of seating Cons: -went at night and noticed lighting could be better as it was hard to see in some areas of the course -trees overgrown and blocking some areas of the course I will need to see how an experience in the day compares to night. read more

The first thing the hubby says as we get out of the truck... mmmmm what's that smell! Haha we walked in and he realizes it's coming from the mini golf. He was already planning to eat after we finished playing haha Service received from those who helped was great! They even took my jokes and interacted with my children when they asked questions. My kids had a blast, which included a 2 year old. Haha We also had an infant with us which required a stroller, when I say stroller like the full travel system and it's not like a compact size stroller. We were able to bring the stroller with us into all 18 holes and had no trouble going through the courses even though this place wasn't exactly huge. Food was good! We got to try free samples of the sausage, but we ordered: 1-plate of the brisket, pork belly with mac n cheese and rice 1- plate of the brisket, pulled pork with Mac salad and rice 1-pulled pork nachos 1-Mac n cheese Which my husband and kids enjoyed! They especially loved the brisket!!! He complimented the smoked items and even the baked beans that came with my Nachos which he ate. Hahaha And even tho my kids were done eating their food they still ate some of my nachos. Unfortunately, they didn't have any water available, but was glad that they allowed us to go and grab our water flasks front the vehicle. For dessert we ordered: 2- shave ice. Upon receiving the order I was told they unfortunately were out of ice cream and on the sign it said toppings were a $1 but was charged $1.50. They had already made the shave ice so we still decided to keep it regardless if there was no ice cream. And as for the overcharged toppings, When I brought it up, we were gonna get whatever refund we were supposed to get, instead decided to get a drink and pay the difference. But they were friendly enough to just give the drink without paying any difference due to not having ice cream and over charging topping. Other than that my husband and I had a good family Sunday outing with our kids ( 7,6,2 y/o & a NB) Tropics Mini golf was close to home where we didn't have to go to town or the other side of the island. read more

A super fun activity to play with friends/family or even on a date! Located behind Down to Earth Pearlridge. You can choose to play 9 or 18 holes. Before or after you play, they serve Texas style BBQ - their meats are smoked and cooked slowly for 8-10 hours which makes it extra tender and yummy! This is everything we got - Brisket Chili Bowl (new menu item), Loaded Tots, Pulled Pork Sliders, Brisket Plate, Bentos - pulled pork and pork belly. The brisket chili bowl, loaded tots, and pulled pork sliders were my favorites!!! The brisket plate was a bit tough the day I went which was a little disappointing. They also have shave ice and other frozen treats! You can make your reservations online. General admission fee is $12.75 and kama'aina/military fee is $10.95. NOTE: they are closed on Tues & Wed. read more

We had a great time at Tropics Mini Golf! The course was challenging but fun, and even my toddler enjoyed it. I loved the tropical feel. We went at night and it's so pretty with the outdoor string lights. It made the experience really enjoyable! The staff was friendly and polite, and the manager was very informative when we asked about hosting a private event. We would have loved to host a party here, and it's definitely something we'll keep in mind for the future. They also serve food, which we didn't get to try this time, but we'll be back for that next visit! read more

We've come here several times but it's been about 3 years. Many changes have happened and it looks great. We loved the added pond with koi. The food was great. Prices are really good too. The tater tots were crispy and crunchy! All 6 of us got bento's. It was plenty of food for one person. Service was great. The guy that was taking our order was patient with our family of 6. He actually got us in earlier than we expected. We will definitely be coming again very soon. We all had a great time! read more

Went here just to try the BBQ and dessert (shave ice) which both are REALLY TASTY and REALLY GOOD PRICED for the amount you receive and compared to most food places. Food was also soft/juicy. Tried everything from the 3 Meat Plate (brisket, sausage [weekends only], pulled pork, with mac & cheese/rice), loaded tots with pulled pork, the brisket chili, pulled pork sliders, shave ice. If there is anything you should try, I really liked the BRISKET, SAUSAGE (weekends only), the BRISKET CHILI, SHAVE ICE. Its worth mentioning the loaded tots were all crispy and delicious down to the last bite. The meat/food taste was just right with the amount of flavoring, spice, and texture. To level/change up the taste, you can also use the delicious sauces and if you had to pick any, pick the Honey Mustard one & Spicy (which was barely spicy). The shave ice is really good too because the ice is soft like biting into a cold cloud. The flavors are limited but you still find at least 2 good flavors (all you really need). Cashier was very nice with typical take our service. I tried other highly rated BBQ places in town which I found food to be over seasoned/salty or too spicy. This place is just right for everything. Food area is in tropics mini golf and you can get food without playing any golf. If you on the sidewalk passing it, you can smell the cooking. A hidden gem in Aiea for food and/or dessert. If I am craving BBQ or dessert and nearby I will definitely be stopping by again. read more

Looking for a little family fun out of the sun in Oahu?! Tropics Mini Golf is where it is at!!! The putt putt course is covered by a lush and tropical canopy. The course is dynamic and fun... it really captures the essence of the islands! The BBQ (non Hawaiian bbq) was the best we had on island and it's reasonably priced. They also have Shave ice on site which was the perfect treat to wrap up our fun family outing. read more

Tropics Miniature Golf - Aiea Tropics is a fun little miniature golf spot in Aiea, right next to Down to Earth--where the old Toys "R" Us used to be. It's a smaller course, but still a cool place to hang out when you're looking for something different to do. The 18 holes are nicely laid out, and while the space isn't huge, they make the most of it. I do wish it was a bit bigger, but it's still a good time. It can get pretty warm and humid during the day, so I'd recommend going early or in the evening when it's cooler. I'd probably avoid going on holidays since it can get a little crowded. Customer service was great too--friendly and helpful, which added to the experience. Overall, it's a chill spot to hang out and have some fun. I'd definitely go again! read more

Tropics Mini Golf - Shaved ice - Mini Golf Near Me - Aiea, Hawaii

Tropics Mini Golf is located next to the Down to Earth store, in the old Toys R' Us space in across from Pearlridge Center. I've never been to mini golf and we decided it would be a fun thing to try. Works well as a casual date activity. There are 18 holes and the golf course area is 1 1/2 football fields long. I liked that we could choose the color of the gold ball we used. The worker was friendly and explained how everything worked. This is their website, https://tropicsminigolf.com/ and you can find them on IG @tropicsminigolf There are a few different admission rates. General, Kama'aina, military, senior, and kids. They offer the venue for parties/ celebrations and larger groups at different package rates. You can book your Tee Time on their website to guarantee your spot. "Scheduling a tee time has become the new normal at TMG. We have been getting a lot of positive feedback and our customers are enjoying their experience more. The best part of the new system, no waiting to play and it won't be crowded when you come. Setting up a tee time is required to play. We recommend scheduling in advance to guarantee your spot before you come. Its highly recommended on the weekends. You can walk in without scheduling ahead also. If you come in without an advanced reservation we will schedule you for the next tee time we have available. We keep some spots open for groups of 2-3. If your group is 2-3 and you come in or call its possible that we could fit you in even if our tee time system online isn't showing an open time." They offer food including Texas BBQ plates (Our meats are cooked slowly onsite for 8-10 hours. We use our own secret recipe of seasonings and the proper combination of hickory and mesquite wood to make the best BBQ on the island), nachos, tater tots and fries, sides, keiki meals, shave ice and ice cream. We didn't try the food so I can't comment, but it's convenient that they offer it here. There are some tables with umbrellas in the front for dining. The trees and plants were a bit overgrown, but they did a really good job of providing shade. We did lose a ball in the bushes but then we found another ball to use, so win win? ;D When it did rain some of the drizzles fell through. Nothing unbearable though but with heavy rain I'm not sure. As you're out in the open here, there's no covering around the holes. Around the first and last hole there is a waterfall that goes into a koi pond. The fishes are bright and colorful. I think it adds to the ambiance. There were areas that could use some fixing up and maintaining, but overall most of it wasn't super run down. For the price and experience, it's not bad. I liked the Tiki Spinners they had at certain holes. You would spin it and follow the directions on where it landed. These kept the game interesting and fun. There was one hole where after spinning the spinner, I was allowed to throw the ball by hand and that got me a hole in one LOL. Ironic as I was joking about bowling with the golf ball earlier. I'd say if you haven't yet, try it out! Have fun golfing :) read more

Located right next to down to earth across from pearlridge mall. They have their own parking in front of the of their entrance. Came in on a Sunday around 3:45pm and there was only a few other groups. Lots of sitting room with benches and umbrellas. It is on a very lush and green course. Bring bug spray as there are mosquitos. It is very pretty with all the trees and a little waterfall with koi fish. It's a cute little course especially for the smaller ones. I took my partner on a date to tropics mini golf about a week ago. We went dressed as the sun was setting, and I'd recommend this. We were visiting from California and stumbled upon this place while looking for something to do nearby after we finished at Pearlridge Mall earlier than expected. My son and I were looking to kill some time before our dinner reservations, so we decided to check it out. When we arrived, there was a young woman at the front -- petite with black hair -- who greeted us warmly. She was very friendly, helpful, and had excellent customer service. However, it was clear she wasn't feeling well. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I understand the importance of not coming to work while sick, especially in an environment where you're handling food and interacting with customers. Unfortunately, we didn't stay as the next available time slot was too close to our dinner reservation, and we didn't want to risk missing it. This is my first review on Yelp, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts. It's concerning to see employees working while sick, especially when they're in direct contact with customers and food. I'm giving 3 stars because of the great service we received from the woman at the front, but I hope the management takes this seriously to ensure both staff and customer safety moving forward. read more

This is a nice outdoor activity to do with your ohana! Little gem located in Aiea near Down to Earth. Fun tropical way to do mini golf. Local family owned place that even sells BBQ and shaved ice. It seems popular among locals hosting their parties too. They do offer discounts for Kama'aina. Make sure to get a pencil and paper to keep score. There aren't many mini golf spots on the island, so this was a fun experience. We've been here several times and always been a positive experience. Very reasonable and affordable activity in Hawaii. Would recommend for kids or adults. read more

I would like the place to be bigger, have more courses, so that when there are multiple groups going through the course, it wouldn't feel so rushed or crowded. The vegetation helps separate the parties from each other and makes it feel kinda private. But for the price, it's really decent. Some holes are outdated and unkempt but it's still a good time with the right crowd ;) I definitely recommend considering what the weather was like the day before and prior to your visit because if it rained, it's going to feel a bit meh since it is entirely an outdoor course so rain or shine, you are with the elements. I came here for some of the food available too and it's so convenient and priced nicely. If you are trying to get okay barbecue, this place is worth it. I tried 808 & Dixie's but it's so much more expensive there than here. I definitely enjoy the brisket, you can see the smoke ring and it's good for Hawaii. They have two sauces, hot and likikoi. Both are definitely great, if I had to choose one, maybe lilikoi, since it's got a lot of flavors, reminds me of a normal tangy barbecue flavor, didn't get so much lilikoi besides it might be a bit tart. Also, mac salad is better than the mac & cheese here. read more

We wanted to spend some time with our daughter and we decided to go mini-golfing. I did some yelping and noticed Tropics had really good and consistent positive reviews. I called to make a reservation as some Yelpers recommended and made our way there. It was a pretty quiet evening with only seeing 3 others parties while we were there. As for the parking lot - there was quite a few openings and also an overflow area across the street at Down to Earth. As for the condition of the business - it was aesthetically pleasing and well taken care of. The only complaint was that quite a few holes had damaged and torn golf carpet that could affect your playing experience. The golf courses were good and challenging - I enjoyed it. It was also very fairly priced. We paid ~$26 for the three of us. read more

They need to vacuum and sweep the putting holes. They were full of leaves and seeds. That should be done prior to opening!

This spot is just ok. The only plus I can give this place is all the shade from the overgrown trees creating that jungle feel but not sure if it will still be cool during the summer. The price is really cheap but the space doesn't seem like it's maintained very well. A lot of the lights were falling apart, turf or rubber parts on the course that were coming undone, and some noni trees that had rotting fruit that was smelling at some parts. The price is reasonable considering what I said previously and in comparison to other, higher priced mini golf spots on the island. The other downside was that it rained the day before or earlier in the day and a lot of the "grass" parts were squishy and saturated and some holes we chose not to putt into because it was filled with nasty dirty water no one wanted to stick their hand in to get the ball. There's no sign outside of the parking lot so it's easy to miss but there are a lot of parking stalls in their private lot otherwise there are some stalls nearby from the old Babies R Us store next door should they be busy. When we got there I was shocked how busy it was. You don't see anyone but when we got to playing, there were a lot of people scattered. They do prefer you to do an online reservation but we only had to wait 5 minutes. read more

What a fun place this is, and right next to Pearlridge, too! It's easy to find right off of Moanalua Road, just on the edge of Pearlridge Shopping Center next to Down to Earth. We checked in with Chastity once we parked (she was very sweet and friendly) and received our putters and golf ball in your choice of color. Since we were all seniors we received a senior kamaaina rate. Yahooo! Thé course comprises of 18 holes, with the average "par" being about 2 or 3. You don't have to keep score if you're afraid of bombing out. There's tons of foliage so there's shade everywhere. However, it was pretty humid so all the shade in the world didn't prevent the sweat from dripping. . It was lots of fun and we'd do it again. Before we left, we just had to try their shave ice, which we all enjoyed. The ice was shaved very finely, too. We were hoping for some brisket but it sells early and quickly. Darn. Great place for mini golf , good prices and the food was pretty good. Looking for fun , come here.

Tanya: I had so much fun! We reserved a time slot online and arrived early, so we decided to get some snacks beforehand. The Chips & Dip were ok.. it was a large portion of nachos with a side of cheese. There was nothing really special about them as it tasted like your average nacho and cheese. We also got brisket which was pretty good for what it's worth. Overall, the prices for the food were decent for the quality & what's served. On the other hand, the mini golf was so much fun! If you're looking to have a fun time at a reasonable price -- I'd recommend this place 110%. Two tickets for Kamaʻāina was about $20, which was a steal for an 18-hole mini golf session! Each hole had different levels of difficulty and an employee gave us a sheet to keep track of our performance throughout. Isaac: I had the half pound of brisket. it was very good although it took a little while to be prepared. The mini golf itself was very enjoyable, 18 holes fit into the thin but long space they had. There was good mix of easy holes and difficult holes. They include score cards to invite a fun competition with whomever you bring. The golf itself was definitely worth and it and didn't go by too fast. The employees were very friendly and always keen to help customers when in need. read more

We weren't able to eat this time because we had to get the gremlin home and into bed for nap time but I feel like we really missed out. The employee was so kind and accommodating, they were organized and the whole course was just fun to play! Perfect for kids but also, as we noted, brilliant for a date night, and we will absolutely be back for that, without question. Tropics Mini Golf - Mini golf - Mini Golf Near Me - Aiea, Hawaii

A very enjoyable, fun, unique mini golf locale nestled under a shady botanical canopy of trees and greenery! A hidden gem that is easy to miss--located across the side parking lot of the Aiea Down to Earth store. One lazy Sunday afternoon we decided to do something totally fun and hit upon mini golf. A quick yelp search identified this course as the closest to our location. The course is super hard with multiple challenging grades and compound inclines but this only made it more fun! The greens were fast and unforgiving but each of still managed to score a hole in one apiece on the second round. The management is very generous with kama'aina and military discounts, but the best part of this place is the multiple times you can play the course once you make the initial purchase. So relaxing, so fun, and so unique. Final word of caution: we did get bit a few times by mosquitoes so bring repellent as the property does contain several decorative ponds and water hazards. We will definitely be back! Mahalo for reading my review. read more
