The first thing the hubby says as we get out of the truck... mmmmm what's that smell! Haha we walked in and he realizes it's coming from the mini golf. Haha We also had an infant with us which required a stroller, when I say stroller like the full travel system and it's not like a compact size stroller. Upon receiving the order I was told they unfortunately were out of ice cream and on the sign it said toppings were a $1 but was charged $1.50. And as for the overcharged toppings, When I brought it up, we were gonna get whatever refund we were supposed to get, instead decided to get a drink and pay the difference. We had a great time at Tropics Mini Golf! The course was challenging but fun, and even my toddler enjoyed it. I loved the tropical feel. We went at night and it's so pretty with the outdoor string lights. It made the experience really enjoyable! The staff was friendly and polite, and the manager was very informative when we asked about hosting a private event. We would have loved to host a party here, and it's definitely something we'll keep in mind for the future. Tried everything from the 3 Meat Plate (brisket, sausage [weekends only], pulled pork, with mac & cheese/rice), loaded tots with pulled pork, the brisket chili, pulled pork sliders, shave ice. If there is anything you should try, I really liked the BRISKET, SAUSAGE (weekends only), the BRISKET CHILI, SHAVE ICE. Its worth mentioning the loaded tots were all crispy and delicious down to the last bite. The meat/food taste was just right with the amount of flavoring, spice, and texture. To level/change up the taste, you can also use the delicious sauces and if you had to pick any, pick the Honey Mustard one & Spicy (which was barely spicy). The shave ice is really good too because the ice is soft like biting into a cold cloud. The flavors are limited but you still find at least 2 good flavors (all you really need). Cashier was very nice with typical take our service. I tried other highly rated BBQ places in town which I found food to be over seasoned/salty or too spicy. This place is just right for everything. It's a smaller course, but still a cool place to hang out when you're looking for something different to do. The 18 holes are nicely laid out, and while the space isn't huge, they make the most of it. I do wish it was a bit bigger, but it's still a good time. It can get pretty warm and humid during the day, so I'd recommend going early or in the evening when it's cooler. I'd probably avoid going on holidays since it can get a little crowded. Works well as a casual date activity. There are 18 holes and the golf course area is 1 1/2 football fields long. I liked that we could choose the color of the gold ball we used. The worker was friendly and explained how everything worked. The best part of the new system, no waiting to play and it won't be crowded when you come. Setting up a tee time is required to play. We recommend scheduling in advance to guarantee your spot before you come. Its highly recommended on the weekends. You can walk in without scheduling ahead also. If you come in without an advanced reservation we will schedule you for the next tee time we have available. We keep some spots open for groups of 2-3. If your group is 2-3 and you come in or call its possible that we could fit you in even if our tee time system online isn't showing an open time." They offer food including Texas BBQ plates (Our meats are cooked slowly onsite for 8-10 hours. We did lose a ball in the bushes but then we found another ball to use, so win win? ;D When it did rain some of the drizzles fell through. Nothing unbearable though but with heavy rain I'm not sure. As you're out in the open here, there's no covering around the holes. Around the first and last hole there is a waterfall that goes into a koi pond. The fishes are bright and colorful. I think it adds to the ambiance. There were areas that could use some fixing up and maintaining, but overall most of it wasn't super run down. For the price and experience, it's not bad. I liked the Tiki Spinners they had at certain holes. You would spin it and follow the directions on where it landed. These kept the game interesting and fun. There was one hole where after spinning the spinner, I was allowed to throw the ball by hand and that got me a hole in one LOL. Ironic as I was joking about bowling with the golf ball earlier. We were visiting from California and stumbled upon this place while looking for something to do nearby after we finished at Pearlridge Mall earlier than expected. My son and I were looking to kill some time before our dinner reservations, so we decided to check it out. When we arrived, there was a young woman at the front -- petite with black hair -- who greeted us warmly. She was very friendly, helpful, and had excellent customer service. However, it was clear she wasn't feeling well. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I understand the importance of not coming to work while sick, especially in an environment where you're handling food and interacting with customers. Unfortunately, we didn't stay as the next available time slot was too close to our dinner reservation, and we didn't want to risk missing it. I would like the place to be bigger, have more courses, so that when there are multiple groups going through the course, it wouldn't feel so rushed or crowded. The vegetation helps separate the parties from each other and makes it feel kinda private. But for the price, it's really decent. Some holes are outdated and unkempt but it's still a good time with the right crowd ;) I definitely recommend considering what the weather was like the day before and prior to your visit because if it rained, it's going to feel a bit meh since it is entirely an outdoor course so rain or shine, you are with the elements. I came here for some of the food available too and it's so convenient and priced nicely. If you are trying to get okay barbecue, this place is worth it. I tried 808 & Dixie's but it's so much more expensive there than here. I definitely enjoy the brisket, you can see the smoke ring and it's good for Hawaii. They have two sauces, hot and likikoi. Both are definitely great, if I had to choose one, maybe lilikoi, since it's got a lot of flavors, reminds me of a normal tangy barbecue flavor, didn't get so much lilikoi besides it might be a bit tart. I called to make a reservation as some Yelpers recommended and made our way there. It was a pretty quiet evening with only seeing 3 others parties while we were there. As for the parking lot - there was quite a few openings and also an overflow area across the street at Down to Earth. As for the condition of the business - it was aesthetically pleasing and well taken care of. The only complaint was that quite a few holes had damaged and torn golf carpet that could affect your playing experience. The golf courses were good and challenging - I enjoyed it. This spot is just ok. The only plus I can give this place is all the shade from the overgrown trees creating that jungle feel but not sure if it will still be cool during the summer. The price is really cheap but the space doesn't seem like it's maintained very well. A lot of the lights were falling apart, turf or rubber parts on the course that were coming undone, and some noni trees that had rotting fruit that was smelling at some parts. The price is reasonable considering what I said previously and in comparison to other, higher priced mini golf spots on the island. The other downside was that it rained the day before or earlier in the day and a lot of the "grass" parts were squishy and saturated and some holes we chose not to putt into because it was filled with nasty dirty water no one wanted to stick their hand in to get the ball. There's no sign outside of the parking lot so it's easy to miss but there are a lot of parking stalls in their private lot otherwise there are some stalls nearby from the old Babies R Us store next door should they be busy. When we got there I was shocked how busy it was. You don't see anyone but when we got to playing, there were a lot of people scattered. They do prefer you to do an online reservation but we only had to wait 5 minutes. read more

What a fun place this is, and right next to Pearlridge, too! It's easy to find right off of Moanalua Road, just on the edge of Pearlridge Shopping Center next to Down to Earth. We checked in with Chastity once we parked (she was very sweet and friendly) and received our putters and golf ball in your choice of color. Since we were all seniors we received a senior kamaaina rate. Yahooo! Thé course comprises of 18 holes, with the average "par" being about 2 or 3. You don't have to keep score if you're afraid of bombing out. There's tons of foliage so there's shade everywhere. However, it was pretty humid so all the shade in the world didn't prevent the sweat from dripping. . It was lots of fun and we'd do it again. Before we left, we just had to try their shave ice, which we all enjoyed. The ice was shaved very finely, too. We were hoping for some brisket but it sells early and quickly. Darn.
