The drinks were very good and delicious. Not an expansibe menu but choice of dark, light, tequila or frozen cocktail. Some served in coconuts or mini watermelons for that vacation feel. The food menu is creative but not a ton of detail so you have to ask questions. I had the king crab dip which was delicious. The lobster ravioli was just okay not very flavorful but full of meat. The only issue here is that reservations are for parties of 4 and must be made day-of through Instagram. Tables are first come first served otherwise. So you take a chance of having a wait. I came with a group of friends on a Saturday night, we had reservations and waited a long time for drinks and food. The restaurant had only 2-3 servers for the entire restaurant. As far as the food, it was pretty good! I had the grilled shrimp skewers as an entree, shared the king crab for an appetizer along with the lobster ceviche. This is a nice restaurant and extremely instagramable. Since we're in the middle of a pandemic the indoor eating area is closed and it's only outdoor sitting which I appreciate. The staff all wore masks and were extremely attentive. At the moment there is no physical menu and the food items were recited to us verbally. We got to sit in the cabana area which was a more intimate and secluded area from the other eating areas. The food was amazing! I was scared I wouldn't get full before my food arrived but I was wrong. The portions of our dishes were extremely fulfilling. The mango sauce on the side of the shrimp skewers and the jerk chicken my partner got tied the dish together. We drank coconut water that was nicely presented inside a coconut. I definitely recommend coming to on a nice date to enjoy yourself. This place is NOT worth the hype. Yes, the atmosphere was beautiful and truly did make you feel like you were on a mini vacation but the service and food was just awful. First of all, you don't get a server. You literally order your food on your phone "to go" and put in the notes your table number and they bring it to you. A 15% tip is mandatory on all orders over $10. I am not a stingy tipper whatsoever but you are not getting that serving experience. No one checks up on you, brings you silverware or napkins, it was just chaos. My husband and I arrived for a 7:00 reservation for 2. They did not have a table available for us in the normal dining area so we were graciously offered a beach cabana (this is usually $100 to book... HA). The atmosphere like I said was beautiful but in the beach cabanas, we were swarmed with flies. It was just disgusting. We ordered the pink pineapple drink and pina colada in the coconut and they both were delicious! Next we ordered the king crab dip... STAY AWAY! It was soooo fishy and watery and just disgusting. Of course there is no one to complain to or send the food back because there's no server... Lastly, there was a man who was running the check in and I'm assuming he was the manager or the owner but his customer service was TERRIBLE. He did seat us in the cabana but in no way showed us how to access the menu or how this chaotic ordering service worked. We overheard him degrading one of his employees in front of customers by saying "what do you not speak English?" I was appalled. I showed him the half empty Mojoto, while our other drinks sat empty on the table next to the empty plates. I asked him if he was throwing us out, and he said, "you made a deal." Yes, I did, I was paying and drinking faster than most. WTF?! I asked his name and asked if he was the manager or owner. He took off with no answer. I asked a waitress, who was very apologetic, and she explained he is Giovanni, the owner. This is the most ridiculous experience I've had in Atlanta to date. I saw so many terrible reviews I had 0 expectations so maybe that's why I'm able to give it a less terrible review. Photos make it look like this tropical paradise and it's cute or whatever but it's a glorified patio with some very cute decor. We ordered via the app, food didn't take long at all. We also got here fairly early in the day not long after that opened so that probably helped. Food was good, I got the jerk chicken. I enjoyed it. We got water after we asked for it and once that was gone, my cup saw no more water. I needed a box and sis gave me a church finger before she came over so that's why I took a star away. I see what people mean about the mediocre service but the place adds gratuity to your bill when you order and you have no assigned servers which is aids to the overall mediocre service. The guy who brought us drinks was cool however. Come here for cute photos, cute ambiance and a decent meal (I don't drink but apparently they're good too). My husband and I have both sent Tropicale multiple reservation requests via DM since they do not have a true reservation system and, after weeks of waiting, none of our messages have even been read or replied to. Considering how many DMs they're surely getting, you'd think that they would upgrade to OpenTable, Resy, or something to fix this reservation issue for potential patrons (and their poor social media manager who has to deal with all of the daily requests). Their lack of reservation transparency makes me question if they're just cherry picking who gets a reservation based on social media presence. Oh well... At this point, we've now read the numerous negative Yelp reviews and no longer have the desire to visit this place. There are plenty of other great cocktail spots in town (like S.O.S.
