This Tropical Smoothie has gone downhill as far as food is concerned. Their quesadillas used to be very good, but my latest order was very disappointing. The quesadillas were mushy and tasteless. There was barely any chicken. I had other issues with this location as well. Even though they have a sign that says you can combine a smoothie with a meal for a discount, they refused to help me when I placed an order online. The order did not give me the discount so I asked about it when I got there, and the crew refused to help. They just told me to call an 800 number. The final issue was with their new offer of boba to a smoothie for a pretty steep price of $1.49. Even so, we ordered two of them. Got them home. No boba whatsoever. So there is $3 more wasted in exchange for nothing. So, no help at the store with a pricing issue, no boba even though got charged for it, and the food was sub-par. I did contact corporate and they told me this location refused to issue any refunds, although they (corporate) were willing to give me a $25 gift card for my troubles. So, thank you Tropical Smoothie Corporate, and boo on you Centreville. I will take my business to a different Tropical Smoothie in the area - there are plenty to choose from. Just because you are a franchise doesn't mean you can't extend customer service to your local customers. read more

Note: 5 Stars for the smoothies, food on the other hand I had deprived myself of lunch and really wanted a salad so I thought of checking this place out. It had gotten good reviews on yelp but I didn't notice most were for the smoothies. I was really hungry and thought I would go for the Baja salad since it seemed to have the standard ingredients. There was no line, no wait and since it was 4:20 pm, it was pretty empty. The smoothies came out super fast and ordered my food to go. When I got home, the salad did not look too appealing but I was hoping the flavors would kick in. I realized the cold avocado and some cold salsa were on the side. I mixed it in and the avocado was way to limey and noticed it had a weird taste to it. The salsa just had no flavor and seemed like a tostitos salsa for chips. The lettuce was old(see pic) Cheese was stuck to chicken and the beans were dry. I couldn't eat anymore (I stopped eating and took a pic). It just was not worth whatever I paid for since the cashier never gave me a receipt. I recommend this place for smoothies BUT for food BEWARE and proceed with caution. read more

Went here 5 days in a row for my detox green smoothie and loved it! I was traveling so it's the best for breakfast. The 6th day I was discouraged from ordering though. I called saying I wanted to place an order for pickup and immediately was told "it's 1-1.5 hours wait. Do you still want to order?" It threw me off bc it's a smoothie but they were really busy. Good place to grab a smoothie. I don't think it's very healthy considering all the sugar however, it's really yummy. I do wish they had a medium size though because the one size is huge and the smaller size is waay too small (which you can only get kids smoothies for the small). I love Tropical Smoothie! As a transplanted California Girl, I really missed my Jamba Juice and the whole smoothie concept in general. I love adding nutrients to my goodies! I was really excited to see that we were getting a Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Centreville. How convenient! It's sandwiched between Panda Express (yummy Chinese) and Panchero's (yummy burritos). I have been there several times and have tried different items each time. I enjoyed their version of a Cuban sandwich but have not tried any other food products. Mostly I go for the smoothies. My favorite is Rockin' Raspberry, while my son loves the Chocolate Banana, and my husband has been asking for the Mango Peach. Last fall they gave us samples of a Cranberry White Chocolate smoothie which was quite delicious. All of the ones we've tried have been excellent. The reason I give them a four is because they can be a little pricey and I haven't tried anything to eat except the Cuban. They were giving customers a punch card for awhile, and that saved me money because if I bought enough of them I would get one free. Now they have discontinued the punch card but are doing something new. You text a message to their number and they will text you coupons a few times a month. You then bring in your cell phone and show them the text message to get the discount. I dunno...I kind of liked the punch card better. Overall, though, clean restaurant, cheerful atmosphere, and excellent smoothies. It never seems very crowded, however, so I'm crossing my fingers that they will be here for awhile. read more

They are fast and the service is quick and smooth. Most importantly, they don't grunt or mean mug you when your indecisive and stand there looking at the menu for 3 minutes. I stick to the Mango Magic which has mango, pineapples and non-fat yogurt and the Bahama Mama which has strawberries, pineapple, white chocolate and coconut. Both are fresh and refreshing! For food the chicken pesto flatbread and thai chicken salad is the best. They put alot of chicken in both and it's both very flavorful. Wait times can be substantial at times, talking 15-20 minutes for 1 smoothie. If you order food as well, there's potential to receive your smoothie & food 10 minutes apart from each other. That's definitely annoying. However, it doesn't ever seem to stop me from ordering... there's plenty of smoothie options ranging from indulgent to vitamin rich to protein packed. Just be mindful of the sugars, which is ridiculously high. Even if you substitute with Splenda, which will cut your calories about 50%, but still far exceeds an average adult's daily sugar intake. I personally opt for no added sugar, though not quite as tasty. Additional supplements & add-ins can be added for additional cost such as protein, vitamins, almonds, flax seeds, peanut butter, etc. Food options have been satisfying, though I am thinking their cooking methods only include a microwave & a heat press. So nothing to rave about, but good enough to order when in need. The wraps have stood out to me the most, the buffalo chicken & Jamaican jerk. I haven't tried it yet, but excited about the new kale & apple slaw they offer as a side option in lieu of chips or apple/banana. Plenty of vegetarian (with meatless chicken) & gluten free choices, as well as several kid's options. Perhaps if I started utilizing their call ahead service, I could up their rating another star... We stopped in here for a quick bite to eat! Nothing quick about it. My daughter ordered the quesadilla with the fake chicken in it as she doesn't eat poultry, red meat or swine. We waited for a pretty long time. People that ordered after us got their stuff and left. When we went to meet up with my wife and eat she had already finished eating by the time we got there. My daughter opened up the quesadilla to make sure the fake chicken was used and it had real chicken in it. Wow, I haven't been to a Tropical Smoothie in a long time. They have a small space, and you feel crowded very quickly if there are more than a handful of customers. The couch seats were old and had deep holes where you can see the foam inside. Smoothies themselves were pretty decent. The texture was great, but my Paradise Point Smoothie (strawberries, banana, pineapple) was a bit too sweet. The boyfriend's Sunrise Sunset (strawberries, pineapple, mango, orange juice) felt too OJ-y in the beginning, but it grew on us. It was actually really refreshing, especially paired up with my sweet smoothie. By itself it can be a bit too tart. We did wish they had green tea smoothies.. we saw that it was offered up as a powdered supplement, but that would be weird adding it to a fruity smoothie. read more

Great location, although on the small side, and I have never had an complaints with the service. This is a great place to go for healthy smoothies and food options. They just added tacos as well - I have tried the fish tacos with the cucumber salsa and they are so light and refreshing. Definitely a most try! I was excited to see that Centreville was getting a smoothie shop. So when they finally opened I stopped in for a well deserved treat. After a mild anxiety attack of reviewing the menu (it was completely dead in there and rightfully so because it's super cold out.) I finally figured out what I "wanted". I ordered a Sunny Day smoothie under pressure and to my surprise it was fantastic! I took a menu with me so I could review it and order like a pro next time YES I KNOW I'M A LOSER. Good to see they offer acai flavors as well. I'm curious to see if they would do an acai only smoothie. I had one in Ocean Ctiy this past summer and it was so freaking good because it wasn't that sweet. I am secretly hoping that their business picks up with word of mouth and with the hotter months. Anyhow the place is super cute and clean (I'd be a little scared if it wasn't, being so new!).. All in all, I'm excited to tear this place up after a long day at the pool next summer because it's so close by. They also have combos where you can get a sandwich and smoothie for $10 I think. Green smoothies are my jam. I started off my obsession with Tropical Smoothie Cafe's Island Green, with mango, kale, spinach, pineapple, and banana. I've also had their Rockin' Raspberry and Sunrise Sunset, which I can also vouch for as equally delicious. Forget Smoothie King and Jamba Juice, these are the best smoothies I've had in the area and their sizes are huuuge and well worth the price. I love their option of the Island Green Detox. I don't get the concept of adding extra sugar to an already naturally sweet, healthy smoothie. The Island Green Detox is naturally sweetened and has ginger in it, which I'm a huge fan of. When I can't make my own smoothies at home, this place is my go-to! Can't wait till they open another store at University Mall. read more

My friends have gotten me hip to their smoothies, specifically the Avocolada, but after a long drive from visiting a friend, I decided to order something for myself. I went in and was warmly greeted by one of the employees. I decided on ordering my usual smoothies, plus a Three Cheese Chicken Quesadilla for the trip home. As usual, my smoothie was excellent; the flavors were not overpowering and the texture was great. I saw that they also offered supplements for the smoothies but I saw it too late (next time though!). I do prefer the Muscle Blaster smoothie over the others though just because of the added whey protein. I absolutely love going here! I've tried pretty much everything on their menu - meals and smoothies. The smoothies are delicious (I love the Island Green and Mango Magic) and the food is great as well (I always get the king chicken Caesar wrap). The employees are nice as well. I took a star off for the space. There is an awkward wall that divides the place in half and it can get very crowded when it's busy. And though the line usually goes down the left side of this awkward divide, some people stand in line to the right and so the line splits weirdly into two when it gets really crowded. The chipotle chicken definitely has that chipotle flavor that I do love, however the chicken was a tad bit dry. Salsa sunrise wrap is always consistent from the different places I have been to. It's scrambled eggs, salsa, ham all wrapped in tortilla :) Tropical smoothie maybe a bit pricey for some, but its a nice indulgence from time to time especially for breakfast.
