It's a trailer of sorts and sits next to a snow cone trailer. They have tables and Adirondack chairs that sit in the shade. They're positioned towards the trail, giving you the opportunity to both rest and people-watch. I was on a 40-mile ride and was running out of gas. I was headed back to the Thomas Dixon Observatory and decided to take a break while sipping on a smoothie. They have several smoothie options as well as bowls and toasts. I purchased the Round Bay smoothie, which consisted of banana, chocolate protein, peanut butter, and coconut milk. It was just what I needed to take me home. The bananas are frozen, so it was cold, just thick enough, and tasted like peanut buttery goodness. I sat in the Adirondack chair and sipped without any time frame in mind. I wasn't going to rush myself. The snow cone trailer opened up at noon, and soon the space was kind of packed. That was a popular spot. I guess so, considering it's summer and it was hot out. I can see this being a regular stop on my long bike rides on the B&A trail. Come check it out!

While I was trying to find the smoothie I had seen online, the employee asked what I was thinking of. I asked if there was one that had chocolate, banana, and spinach, and she said, "Oh yes, I can make that one." She rang up the name of a drink, but the full screen wasn't visible to me. When I got my receipt, I realized she hadn't actually found the smoothie I was looking for, she had simply charged me for a different drink plus a bunch of extra add-ins. I was really frustrated because the interaction made it seem like she was helping me find the drink I had asked about, when instead I ended up paying quite a bit more for something that was essentially customized. It was the lack of transparency that really bothered me.

It might look tiny, but don't misjudge the coffee and other drinks they are making here! I actually went back after my first order to try another beverage, it was that good. I started with a Fall-flavored 'refresher,' though I can't honestly remember the name. But, it was amazing! I was down the strip a few shops for an event, so I popped back to The Big Bean before they closed for their "Not Ready for Winter" coffee concoction. Another winner! I also picked up a couple of biscotti for later. When we did finally get around to trying them, they were incredible! Very hard and crunchy as a biscotti should be, and perfect for soaking up some coffee for dunking. And the flavors are perfect. Other people were ordering their breakfast sandwiches, which honestly looked and smelled incredible... I just didn't have room for food that day. Or, I would have totally ordered one just based off of others' orders alone! The real five-star facet here, though, was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful, despite how busy they were. They still found time for friendly and cheerful banter while ringing everyone up. I don't think team members get enough credit when they go above and beyond, but please take the time to tip or at least acknowledge the fantastic folks here! Overall, it's a wonderful coffee shop that I wish were closer to home! And... had more parking! The number and orientation of spots here isn't ideal, but it's worth an extra walk (huge lot across the street) for the drinks, snacks, and people at The Big Bean. Outstanding overall experience!

Another employee gladly got me a cover and even bagged everything up for me. They have several options for bowls and 3 sizes to pick from. You choose your base, fruit toppings, and other toppings- granola is already included with all bowls. The acai base could have had a little more flavor but the consistency was PERFECT! It was freshly blended when I ordered, so it wasn't icy or hard like some other places I've been. The fruit toppings and granola were good and a really good portion. There is plenty of parking outside , and plenty of seating inside if you want to eat there. The music was upbeat, which added to the whole experience. When I left it looked like Gracie (who took my order) was on her break, but she still looked up and said goodbye to me by name! I definitely appreciated the amazing customer service experience!
