    Spicy hummus toast
    Taylor S.

Greeted with a smile and a friendly hello at the door! I have food allergies and am vegan, and they had such a nice clear signage telling me what I could have. The spicy hummus toast was spicy and amazing, the cucumber cooled it down perfectly, and my partner and aunt enjoyed their chickpea salad and smoothie bowl very much. We sat outside, since inside was a little noisy from the smoothie blenders going. Bathroom was clean and everyone was kind. If I had to give an any feedback, I'd have loved to have options for less plastic, like a cardboard toast box instead of plastic one, bamboo silverware, or paper cups/straws. But overall we just had an excellent expertise and will be back if we return to the area!

I love these bowls so so much. I've come once a week for 3 weeks in a row from Glen burnie maryland. The place is small but it's so cute inside and out! I order online with a set pickup time and it's always ready when I arrive. It's my healthy sweet treat for the week!

Just returned and it's still really good! A great place to grab something quick and light. Fresh fresh fresh.

I just stopped in here for the first time today. The place is cute & clean, with friendly service. I tried the Super Green juice. It contains spinach, romaine, lemon, basil, ginger, cucumber, celery, and kale. YUMMY. I will be back for sure. They also have a drive thru, and they guce you a credit for bringing back glass bottles the next time.

Nice building. Outside benches by the store and overlooking a parking lot. Shakes and smoothies with toasts, juices and coffee. Counter service. Shakes are 10-15 dollars a price. Coffee is five dollars. Shake was thick but barely had the taste of fruit (awake).

I love Acai bowls. They are grownups version of breakfast ice cream. This did not disappoint. My daughter ordered the Strawberry Lime, which had a totally different taste. It was a little more tart. This is a monthly special (not on reg. menu). The coconut was a nice touch. I had the PBJ, which is exactly what it tasted like. So good. The granola is gluten free. I also ordered the cold brew, not a fan. It had a bit of a bite to it. We had going paddle boarding in Annapolis. This was a great refreshing meal. I will definitely return. Outside seating was lovely!!

Overall a great juice shop. I love that they have a drive thru! We ordered the banana nut butter toast which was just okay. I would order something else if I go back to eat. My favorite juices are the nectar and sweet tart. They are both delicious! The drive thru service is not as fast as typical fast food places, but is not bad considering they make everything fresh!

I love this little place. I wish there was more inside seating but I love what they've done with and old building (bank). The bowls have always been delicious and the staff friendly. Today I had the PB chocolate overnight oats warm. They came with strawberries and banana on top and It was a perfect combo! It was a cold day and I just wanted to try something g warm from here and I was not disappointed! It was great and wholesome and very filling. I love that they also have a drive thru and food prepared and ready to go. We need more vegan options in this town and Rutabaga does a lovely job!

Ahhhhhhh!!! When you are in the area and want something that is healthy, & delicious....then this is your place!!! They sell smoothie bowls (acai, matcha, mango...and I believe a few more), toast with several toppings (the smoky shrooms BLEW my mind!!), actual smoothies, overnight oats, vegan cakes (pumpkin, coconut, and carrot), vegan lasagna (it's soy base), Mac and cheese (it's soy base), they have several juices in the fridge, salads, coffee, and they have several other small goodies on the side that you can purchase. I purchased the acaí bowl, the apple cinnamon bowl (a season special), smoky shrooms toast, vegan coconut cake, Thai street soup, and a overnight oat bowl. The game changer was the smoky shrooms toast!! I literally wanted to go back and order 10 of them! (NOT KIDDING!!) It was PERFECTION & I should clarify I am picky about mushrooms but these were AMAZING!!! Everything else was delicious as well. I personally didn't like the peanut butter they put in the apple cinnamon bowl....it wasn't mixed just two whole chunks of peanut butter. They have notes that state the dining room is closed. They do have a drive Thru! They also have a gender free bathroom as well. All in all, I will definitely be back when I am in the area!!

I've always heard many great things about Rutabaga, but I had no idea where it was even located. I've been 3 times now and I always get the Matcha Smoothie Bowl (although there are certainly other items I would like to try, it's just hard to not get matcha!). I've loved it every time and sometimes I get cravings to go here. I like that they also sell locally-made vegan desserts and to-go items. I tried the vegan mac n cheese from Dodah's Kitchen, but it was just okay. The "cheese" was a little gritty. I definitely want to try out one of the cake slices they sell of hers there though. Anyway, it's a super cute place to have a light lunch and then walk around the nearby neighborhood. As far as smoothie bowls go, they are one of the best (and one of the only ones) in Annapolis.

    SUPERGREEN juice

Good coffee and juice but EXTREMELY overpriced. I understand the cost for green juice but a medium latte with a little bit of turmeric in it is not worth $10 !!!

The original girl who I ordered from was not super friendly. The girl who gave me my juice and the second girl I ordered from were. Wait: None, I was the only person down there post snow day. Server: See above. Neither here nor there. The last two girls I interacted with were awesome! Food Quality& Order: The juice was good. It was kind of lighter than I expected. I only do greens and lemon when I get juices. I'll make sure to ask for extra ginger because there wasn't even a hint of it. I also purchased a soap they had there from the Bearded Bee! Smells so darn good. Atmosphere& Decor: It's a cute little spot. The decor is Spring and patio inspired. I can appreciate it.

I actually came Thursday morning and ended up leaving because the line was long. I didn't have time to wait just to order and then wait again for food. On Friday, I did it the smarter way and ordered ahead online, then picked up from the Mad Eggs food truck in the rear, which worked out way better. I went for breakfast and ordered a scrapple, egg, and cheese biscuit ($10) and breakfast tots ($4.25). The order took about 20 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad considering how packed it was around 9:00 a.m. I even noticed people waiting in their cars before heading up to the truck, so the timing felt realistic given the volume. If I had more time, I would've waited without an issue. Food-wise, everything was good, but I had mixed feelings. The biscuit sandwich tasted fine, but for $10, I expected more. It wasn't loaded, and at that price point it just didn't quite make sense to me--I know that sounds sarcastic, but it's hard not to compare when it's a simple scrapple, egg, and cheese. The breakfast tots, on the other hand, were the better deal. I liked these a lot. The portion made more sense for the price, and I really liked that you're encouraged to customize them. That part was right up my alley. With all the topping options, I do wish they offered a sauce or gravy option (like sausage or country gravy), but even without that, this is something I'd order again and again. The coffeehouse itself is small but clean and quaint, with a few tables. Parking out front is very limited--maybe five cars--but there's more space in the back near the food truck, and there's a rear entrance, which is probably the best move. Staff was friendly and efficient, and even from inside you can tell things are run pretty smoothly. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that side much, but I've had food brought home from here before by my wife and really enjoyed the matcha tea smoothie in the past. Overall, I'd definitely return. I think Rise Up does a good job in general, and I've enjoyed their Severna Park and downtown Annapolis locations before. I just expected more out of a $10 biscuit sandwich--but I'd happily come back for the tots and other menu items.

No wait to order, and the food took maybe about 5 minutes to come out while it was being made. On my 2 visits I ordered sandwiches: a Turkey Reuben (my favorite of the 2) and a Corned Beef Pastrami Reuben, both with Russian dressing, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. Each came with fries, coleslaw, and a dill pickle. The portions were on point -- definitely a lot of food for the price -- and the quality really stood out. Everything tasted fresh and well put together, and the menu has a really big selection, which is always a plus. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place itself was very clean. Noise level was moderate, lighting was good with a mix of natural and fluorescent light. There is seating available, but from what I've seen, most people grab their food and go. The location is convenient too, sitting right around the corner from Annapolis High School. Overall, I don't really have anything negative to say -- I like it just how it is. I've already recommended it to several people and would definitely come back again. This place is a gem.

My only real complaint is the hours; they're only open to 1pm (1:30pm mostly, but it was shortened by a half hour during the summer, from what the note said). The food continues to be good, your standard breakfast fare mostly. There are dishes beyond that, but it generally fits the brunch mood. The décor is fine; place is always clean, furnishings look well kempt. The service was also great. We arrived around 12:45 and they sat us without any hesitation. (No calls of "well, we're closing soon...") The prices are very affordable, especially compared to similar sit-down establishments. Plus, you shouldn't be leaving hungry! You get what feels like a field's worth of potatoes per order! LOL! This isn't a complaint, more of a note: the location might be hard to see from the road. It's in the same shopping center as the PetSmart, but it's tucked away in the back. If you can see the PetSmart, you're nearly there, just keep looking towards the far end of that little strip of shops. It's in the second building tucked away in the corner. Again, not a complaint, just a heads up. It's a great alternative to fast food greasy food and the other chains of diner-like offerings. Quaint, cozy, and well worth the value for your breakfast buck.
