The taste was decent, but in my opinion, it wasn't worth the price. That said, the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service, which I appreciated. Okay, this isn't a very traditional Hawaii poke joint, but that doesn't mean it's not really good. I like the build your own bowl assembly line model. There are lots of proteins and toppings to choose from. They have a bunch of sauces you can choose from or mix together to create your own flavors. The portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable given it's in a tourist area in Hawaii. It's locally owned by a very nice couple; not a chain. I'll definitely eat here again. If you are staying at the Aluani Disney Resort or the surrounding establishments and are looking for a quick bite nearby, this is a perfectly average 3.5 star poke place. I would call it a tourist trap but considering the area it's at, I think that's a given. Seen some reviews call it horrible, some call it the best. As usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle. The poke bowl here is not the worst but it's far from the best Hawaii has to offer. If you have the option and time, definitely look elsewhere! You can get this quality on the mainland, too. Had the salmon, tuna, and octopus. They were all average. The fish was fresh but not juicy or full of flavor; rather bland really. You can tell they don't really go for the highest quality here. As far as the base, both the spring mix and brown rice were decent. Similarly, the add-ons such as the edamame, cucumber, crab salad and others were perfectly mediocre. Compared to many of the famous places around the island, this place is not even in the same conversation so hopefully for those who choose to go there, they do so knowingly. The place itself is small but clean. The staff is helpful and on top of things. Not much more to say on this really. My husband and I each ordered a poke bowl, regular and small, respectively. The bowls were generously filled and the products tasted fresh and of good quality. We especially liked their crab salad. Their take on it was unlike others we've tasted from home. So good! The establishment itself was clean and welcoming. They have a few tables and seats inside for costumers to dine in as well as a few on the outside. Our overall ordering process went smoothly and was relatively quick. Aside from being friendly, the staff worked diligently to ensure their line of customers did not wait for too long while still piecing orders together with care and concern. The vegetables I add are edamame, corn, cucumber, seaweed salad, and green onions. The sauces I add are creamy spicy and signature shoyu. Finally, the toppings I add are furikake and fried garlic. The food itself tastes great most of the time (definitely depends on the worker making your food). Some are very generous and some are very stingy. The workers don't go above and beyond for their customers. The best tip is if you want a flavourful poke, ask for extra sauce. Sometimes they don't add enough causing it to taste like sashimi. I spend about $20 on the bowl. For the amount of food I get, it is overpriced. read more
