Beer is phenomenal. The fruit flavors come through JUST enough. Hoppy, but not bitter. 10/10 recommend.

Not just dog friendly, but genuinely kind and happy to have her there, which means so much to me as a dog mom. The bartenders, Savannah and Bill, absolutely made the experience. They were welcoming, attentive, and so easy to talk to. They made me feel comfortable right away and treated Luna with so much love, like she belonged there. You can tell when people truly care, and they really do. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and inviting. It's the kind of place where you can actually unwind, enjoy your drink, and feel at home. Great vibes, great energy, and even better people behind the bar. If you're looking for a brewery that truly welcomes dogs and their humans with open arms, this is it. I'll definitely be back, and Luna will be too.

My boyfriend and I moved to Lawrenceville, and we're lucky enough to be within walking distance of The Druery. When I say they always have an incredible beer selection, I truly mean it. I used to get bummed when one of my favorite beers got kicked, but I've learned there's no reason to dwell because there's always another amazing beer on tap waiting to become our next favorite! Great beer, great vibes, and even better company. We always look forward to our walks there.

All of the dishes were excellent.  Also had a side of Fioretto Cauliflower $12 that was creative though not too plentiful.  Really appreciated that they list the farms where they source their ingredients.  The beers were superb, Hazy IPA, Bohemian Pilsner and Keller Pils.  The sports bar has a different menu with more of the types of dishes you'd expect at a brew pub. It is however dark and less inviting. In part that's the rub here. As much as we appreciated the quality of the food and gorgeous setting the fact that it is part of a brewery becomes somewhat irrelevant. We had beer because we were there but the dishes begged for wine. I'd have preferred a beautiful beer hall rather than the full fine dining experience. Just a bit too upscale for a brewery. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. .

This time, we were there to just hang out at the bar, so we went down to the basement, which is really nicely decorated! I opted for one of their brews, I think a dark lager, which tasted pretty good, though I didn't end up finishing it. I got to chat a bit with one of the bartenders, who was really cool and helped me out a bunch with some much needed water! I think his name was Herman. Pretty chill spot in my opinion, would come back for another outing with friends or colleagues.

I dont know if they weren't expecting the crowd that they got, but it got very loud to the point you could barely hear the band. Kept getting bumped into by other patrons hanging around our table, hanging on our table, etc. There were only 2 people working the bar with such a crowd that it took almost 20 minutes just to get someone's attention when we wanted to settle up. We wanted to stay longer but it was just way too crowded. I really dont know if I'll go back.

Out front, every table was packed shoulder to shoulder with what appeared to be a local running group in post-run celebration. Laughter, sweat, and IPAs filled the air. Inside, however, it was the crowd was sparse, save for two small groups competing in Harry Potter trivia, an event we hadn't realized was happening. After the first round, one of those tables gave up and left. That should have made the place quieter, but the trivia host's amplifier made sure it did not. Even from the far corner, it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation without shouting. It was as though someone had mistaken the volume knob for a test of strength. The bartender, to his great credit, was friendly and quick, the kind of person who makes you feel like maybe the night will work out after all. The beers themselves were fine. I tried the Pineapple Express milkshake IPA and the porter. Both were serviceable, neither was memorable. The brewery allows outside food, which is a small mercy. Being on Farnsworth, there are plenty of good places to bring something in from. They also sell simple snacks like chips and jerky, a practical touch that suits the space. Still, the whole experience left me puzzled. The place seems to want to be a neighborhood hub, but it can't decide whether to be a quiet refuge or a loud event hall. Empty yet loud, welcoming yet difficult to linger in. I wouldn't drive out of my way to return, but if a friend suggested meeting there, I'd go. I'd just hope the trivia host had the night off.

Hard to tell exactly when it opened, as their website offers scant information, but they first started posting on Facebook in 2011 if that is anything to go by. They don't have a large footprint in the NJ brewing scene as they don't distribute to any liquor stores or bars/restaurants (they don't even offer beers in cans to go), and they don't do any big events other than the typical karaoke or trivia nights. What they do offer is a nice place to hang out in an old historic building right on the Main Street in the downtown area, and a solid lineup of beers. One thing that makes them stand out is a great selection of beers on nitro. From my experience with NJ breweries, you're lucky to find a single beer on nitro. At Village Idiot there are seven of them, most of them dessert stouts like a cookie butter white stout and a salted caramel milk stout. All that we tried were delicious and not crazy high in ABV like other dessert stouts. Flights are only $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other NJ breweries. Of note is that as of November 2025 they no longer allow outside drinks including water bottles like Nalgenes and Stanley Cups. Too many idiots sneaking in alcohol, according to their social media. Overall it has a bit more of a dive bar vibe only frequented by locals rather than a traditional NJ brewery, but the beer is definitely good enough, and the surrounding Main Street charming and quaint enough that I would definitely return.
