Before hiring Poolside Phoenix, I had to let another pool service go because I rarely saw evidence that anything was actually being done. I never saw chemicals being added, the pool wasn't being brushed regularly, and communication was lacking. It left me constantly wondering whether the service had even been performed. With Poolside Phoenix, it's a completely different experience. After every visit, they send an email with photos showing they were at the property and documenting the work completed. I can clearly see that chemicals are being added, the pool is being brushed, the skimmer baskets are being emptied, and the equipment is being checked. Their attention to detail and transparency give me complete peace of mind. I never have to guess whether someone showed up or whether the pool is being properly maintained. If you're looking for a dependable, thorough, and trustworthy pool service company, I highly recommend Poolside Phoenix. They have exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't be happier with their service. our pool sparkles!

After a few years, the pebble colors tend to fade out due to hard water deposits. After the Acid Wash I could see the pebbles looking colorful and shiny again. Aqua Harmony was great from the initial call to schedule, and workmen were right on time (for draining yesterday) and the acid cleaning today. The technician that did the cleaning today was Zack. He is a very polite individual and consciences about his work. He made sure I was happy with everything before he packed up his equipment. Then I called Joe in the office to inquire about how I am supposed to pay. Joe was very helpful during the initial call to get the work scheduled. And he was very helpful today, and asked me more than a couple of times if I was happy with all of the work. They truly want to do a good job and want to make sure the customers are happy. The next time I need to acid wash, or need any equipment repairs, I won't hesitate to call them for help. I am very happy with their work and with the quality of their employees. And I would gladly recommend them to any family and friends that need any work done on their pool.

That said, I don't know if it is the lack of consideration and budget from the HOA or the lack of particular expertise and knowledge of the on-site technicians -- but our pool has gone from crystal clear blue to green algae bloom toxicity. The technicians have been asked on-site to scrub and vacuum - -and we were told, that's not my job. So I guess in our case, the pool is not quite so brilliant. Maricopa Environmental Services even came out and said that while the PH and chlorine are satisfactory, anyone could get sick or infected from the algae and mold that is not scrubbed. Hopefully they will do better or recommend to the HOA a better servicing. Aint NO ONE wanna get into that pool....look at the photos. Hopefully Brilliant Pools can help make our pool brilliant again. Last year (at the end of May), this company replaced the motor on my pool pump and charged me $660…read morefor the repair, which included a 1-year warranty on the motor. At the time, a complete pump replacement, including labor and taxes, was around $1,600. Fast forward to this year: the motor failed less than 1.5 months after the warranty expired. Given how close the failure was to the warranty period, I contacted the company hoping they would offer some goodwill assistance or a reasonable discount. Instead, I was quoted between $2,150 and $2,800 for a replacement, depending on the model and horsepower, with only a $100 discount offered. What makes this especially frustrating is that the 1.5 HP pump model they quoted is available online for around $1,150. The pricing difference feels excessive. Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about using this company for repairs. I understand warranties have limits, but I expected better customer service and a more reasonable resolution given that the motor failed so soon after the warranty expired. Unfortunately, it left me feeling that the focus was more on maximizing revenue than on building long-term customer relationships.

The owners of Pool Shack Robert (Joe) pressured me to pay in full prior to the completion of my…read more$4,000 plus final bill of additional work contracted. Unfortunately the Pool Shack owner was paid and you are reading the typical Phoenix contractor customer horror story because once my final PayPal payment went through, Pool Shack refused to stand by their work to leave the job site without setting up the new pump functioning or adding chemicals to our freshly filled pool water. Apparently Robert was upset because I didn't sign up for weekly pool service even though my request to try out their service prior to signing a year contract or by my final payment not completed in cash or by check as demanded. The owner claimed PayPal was not an option because they didn't have an account set up and instead insisted that I deliver a check or cash which wasn't possible since I was out of town however when I went to search on PayPal, I found the Pool Shack business account right away so I made my final payment out of trust and I was insured that the job was complete with the pool running with chemicals in full working order which it wasn't. Pool Shack took advantage of my trust for contracting more pool work and since the previous job was completed according to the work contracted, I had a comfort level that in my absence the pool would be in good standing upon my return. Pool shack knew the next weekly pool service wouldn't happen until a week from my payment but since this didn't happen the pool was found in dire straights which was discovered by our pool service with a total of 11 day's since new pool water was filled and after Pool Shack left the equipment powered off without chemicals. Needless to say and shown by my photo algae growth sets in quickly in triple digits with the above circumstances. Since extreme measures with shocking/pumping still didn't turn the situation around in time to prepare the home for vacation rental, we were forced to drain, acid wash and refill all over again. At the time I was too upset to write this honest review to warn other customers and I rely on real people sharing business reviews so I feel that this one is well overdue. Bottom line is that the owners of Pool Shack and their representatives aren't reputable nor do they run their business with integrity. This left me with an unfinished pool repair and much worse than the condition of the pool upon the start/completion of the job. The end result of the algae green pool completely negated the money spent on the freshly acid washed pool + fresh water fill by the men intentionally leaving the pool without a running pool pump or chemicals added upon leaving. I am a reasonable person with over 20 years of working with contractors and I would NOT recommend using Pool Shack for any pool repairs, electrical work or monthly pool service.

We started our service with Phoenix Pool Pro in March. Things didn't start out on a good foot…read morebecause the tech didn't show up on the day they were scheduled but we wrote this off as bad luck since they told us an emergency popped up and they sent someone out the next day. Our pool was blue but needed to be vacuumed and prepared for swimming after the winter. The technician told us we needed to buy a robotic vacuum and said the owner would let us know what model we should purchase. We never heard about the vacuum again. I showed the technician where our pole vacuum was along with the hose but they never vacuumed the pool despite there being significant detritus at the bottom of the pool from the winter. Over the period of the next few months the pool gradually got more cloudy and eventually turned pea green. We asked if there was anything we needed to be doing between services other than emptying the skimmer baskets and never got any response. We have a smart pool timer and we were never asked how many hours the pool pump was running for (12 hours) nor were we ever told what it should be set to. The owner told us we needed an algae treatment and said they would call the following Monday to discuss options. We never got a call about the algae treatment and the technician never came back. I called and left a voicemail asking what the status of our account was and for an explanation for the technician not showing up. The owner immediately sent a text message to my wife saying we probably needed to drain our pool. He told us he would get back to us soon but never called or texted again. The owner is no longer returning our calls or text messages. We are now looking for another company and our pool is disgusting.
