This review is for my most recent visit ONLY. I have been coming to Triple Tree for a couple of years. It's a clean facility and I always get a great reflexology/massage when I'm there. I also take all of my out of town guests to enjoy the experience. HOWEVER..... this past weekend I brought a friend who was visiting and I cannot say enough about the horrible service and lack of attention given. I knew something was off when i walked in and didn't recognize any of the workers. We were ushered to the back as usual and given the customary foot bowl to soak my feet in. The temperature was not even luke warm. It felt like stepping into a swimming pool and it only goes downhill from there. I always instruct my guests to not speak above a whisper and turn their ringers off once we are in the establishment. That should be a given for the workers, but this time the gentleman performing my reflexology missed that memo. In fact he missed MANY memos! From instructing me what to do using his 'outdoor voice' to turning off his own ringer! His phone vibrated throughout my massage. He actually STOPPED my massage to answer his phone not one.... not two... but THREE separate times during the course of my treatment! And two of those times he held the phone to his ear chatting away in conversation (at least this time he tried to whisper)! I have NEVER experienced a quiet and relaxing massage that was so NOT quiet and so NOT relaxing! WHO DOES THIS!?!! (Well clearly HE does but...). And let's not forget the ongoing conversation that he was trying to have with the lady performing the treatment on my friend.... I probably left with more knots than I came with. Upon check out I asked for a manager and was told there was not one on site. Then, he had the NERVE to stand directly behind me waiting for a tip! As I went to explain how poorly my massage experience was and his improper phone etiquette, the lady behind the counter suddenly became un-bilingual (is that a word???). She could no longer understand my English, which was the same English I used to book the appointment and speak with her earlier. I may give this establishment one more try since like I said I have been a customer for years, but if I ever have another experience like the last, they will most definitely lose me as a client! This place is so great and affordable! I don't mind that it's one big open room. Once they get started, it's so relaxing you literally enjoy your massage so much you don't even notice if there are other people in there. They massage you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes! I would highly recommend this place especially if you like deep tissue massages. They can always do it lighter if you ask, but they get all the knots and kinks out! read more

Every time I come here for a massage I know I get at least an inch taller because I need to adjust my rear view and side mirrors before I drive home. Very relaxing environment and the owner is pretty nice. Plus it's only $45 for a 90 minute, deep tissue massage! Can't beat that price for the quality. Your experience depends a lot on your masseuse; some will check on you and ask you if you are okay every 10 minutes, others would barely talk to you. Some of them will put so much pressure and stretch you like pizza dough, the others will give you more like a Swedish massage unless you tell them otherwise. Almost In Heaven!!! I can't believe I spent all that money all those years for people to rub me. I finally found a real massage place. They call it a foot massage but for $30 you get a 1 hour full body massage from head to toes! I mean eye balls, butt cheeks, everything!!! And these little Asian women, Yes little women have hands of steel. They give the deepest massages that will take all those lumps out. It can get painful if you can't handle it so tell them exactly what you want. You just tell him how hard or soft you want it! I'm a small person but I work hard and do lots of lifting so I really need that toughness that have going on. But they can be hella gentle too! I have brought and recommended this place to many people here and no one has been disappointed. Even my pregnant friend( The give special pregnant massages) She's so addicted and in perfect condition. I would recommend this to anyone who is in need of a TOTALLY AWESOME massage, can handle the pressure, and wants a REAL massage. I've been here at least 9 times in the past year and I plan on return many more times. You can bring friends too. Up to about 15 i think and get all your massages done at once! It's a cool spot, there's a Vietnamese sandwich shop next door that is excellent but i don't remember the name and the ice cream yogurt shop next to that so you can pretty much get a few things in at once. The atmosphere is quite different from most places I've ever been. You pay $120everywhere else and they usually get you in a small room, get you on a table naked and them rub all kinds of oils all over you. and those soft hands rub you all over. Not Quite enough... HERE, however, you walk in fully dressed, and the drop you on a table, feet in a bucket of really HOT water, and they Get To It!! You're getting your massage right next to the huge Asian dude in the next seat or the pregnant Mexican woman on the other side. Once you lay down, you literally forget all else but that wonderful feeling they bestow upon you. It's Simply irresistible. I always walk out satisfied. Piece of advice, ALWAYS ask for a woman. The secretary in the front did not speak fluent English which sparked a miscommunication in the service I was purchasing. I wanted a 60 min massage ($50) and she told the masseuse that I was requesting a 90 min massage ($75). Due to the miscommunication, the masseuse rendered the service for about 80 min and I was charged $60. At that time, I felt uncomfortable disputing the charge so I just decided to cut my losses. I even tipped the masseuse (while she and her manager were standing over me) and wrote my total at the bottom of the receipt. I checked my bank account a few days later and they charged me for more than what I wrote on the total. I would not trust the business owner at all because of this. In addition, the masseuse was very rough and did not do a great job at all. I would not recommend coming to this establishment for a massage. read more

This place is awesome: I come here all the time, I recommend it to everyone I know, and I sometimes even come here with 5 of my closest friends. The boy scout in me actually didn't feel comfortable writing a review on this place before trying some of other massage places popping up all over Chinatown but I tried a competitor this past weekend and quickly confirmed that Triple Tree reigns supreme. The decor is very zen with cherry blossoms on the ceiling to relax you as you lay back in the comfy leather chairs and they have awesome acoustic soft rock jamming in the background. They are thoughtful enough to have hooks on the wall for your purse/scarf/coat and the bathrooms are immaculate and again, very thoughtful with combs to fix your hair after wards. The owner is super friendly and not to brag but he definitely recognizes my voice when I call in. The only thing that bothers me is the inconsistency between masseuses but I would recommend asking for Michael! Other stuff: they do take credit cards, they have a stamp card for buy 9 and get the 10th free, call ahead during busy times (weekends), and don't wear skinny jeans. read more

I've thought long and hard about this review and I've come to the conclusion that I will not be returning. Here's the deal, for $30 you get an hour of "reflexology" but not really. It's more like 10 minutes of "reflexology" with the rest being a "massage". First of all the people administering the massages are not licensed. I knew this coming in but if you're not a licensed masseuse you should (in my opinion) stick what you are advertising....reflexology. I did look at TTC website & I read all these reviews so I knew what I was getting myself in to but I felt like I would be a sucker for at least not *trying* out a $30 massage. In essence, it just felt like someone giving me a rub down which was somewhat relaxing in the moment. There was no lasting benefit. Secondly, the reflexology felt more like someone just jamming their finger in the round about area of my pressure points. How do they know what points to focus on when they never asked what my areas of concern are? TTC was just not for me. It was cheap & easy and thats the reason why I tried it out. From this experience I realized what I value and that is the therapeutic & health benefits actual massage and actual reflexology/accupressure provide. On a positive note, if this is your cup of tea, none of the employees were talking with each other & every person in the shop seemed to value the concept of silence. read more

I had a few Yelp friends gush about the price and the quality of the service at Triple Tree. Knowing the prices other massage parlors charge, the price is VERY good. I came here to treat myself to something for my birthday, while staying within my budget. This was my very first true professional massage...ever. I've had feet massages with pedicures and upper body jobs with facials, but never a full body reflexology session. Peter at the front desk was very nice, and my masseuse (whose name I don't know) was very professional. Everyone was whispering, so I was never explained how the massage would help me, what areas would be targeted or given an opportunity to ask any questions. I think it might have been helpful had I known what to expect. To keep things quiet, maybe just hand me a sheet of paper with a rundown of the 60 minutes. As it was, I went in to a dim room somewhat anxious and disoriented. Below is how my hour was used, and I would have loved this detailed description before going, so you're welcome. - Get settled in reclining chair. Place bare feet in warm water. - Face, head, neck and scalp targeted. Oil is applied to neck. - Shoulders, arms and hands targeted. - Feet are removed from water and an ottoman is placed under legs. - Feet and legs targeted. Lotion is applied. - Thighs and hips targeted. - Flip on the chair. - Back and shoulders targeted. While I was being massaged, my reflexes were definitely being triggered. He'd push on my arm just so and my fingers would involuntarily curl, so I know he was doing his job correctly. However, I didn't feel particularly better or more loose after my session, and sometimes he would put too much pressure and it would hurt me. Though the setting was extremely tranquil, there is absolutely no way I could have fallen asleep during this. The whole time I felt very jostled and even somewhat tense. When he was switching positions to massage a different area, he would nudge me (very politely) to move in a certain way so he could access my arms or legs. However once he started massaging me, my body would shift from the pressure and then I would become uncomfortable on the chair. But I didn't want to wiggle around to get comfortable while he was doing his thing, so I'd try to maintain the position he put me in, which made me not be completely relaxed. I wanted to be able to get myself settled in the chair, take a deep breath and then he could start, but I didn't feel as settled and relaxed as I would have liked. Overall, it wasn't bad and I'm not any worse for the wear, but it wasn't even close to being heavenly relaxation. Massage Envy has come to my office and given us those 15 minute quickie massages where you lean in a chair face down, and I enjoyed that slightly more than my hour long reflexology session. I also have a friend with a mechanical massage chair, and I enjoy that chair the most of all. I'm the first review below 4 stars, so maybe it's just not my thing. read more

Simply amazing. I'm a huge fan of massages and always willing to try somewhere new, but I won't be trying anywhere new for a while. I wandered in a few minutes after their 10am opening on Sunday morning. The owner, Peter, greeted me and was so helpful in getting me set up with the perfect masseuse. An immediate plus was that they spoke great English, so I was never unsure about what was going on. Peter was also very excited to hear that I read about them on Yelp! I opted for the most popular one hour reflexology treatment for $30. Triple Tree is only slightly more expensive than most other centers in the Chinatown area, but the quality is way above the others. One thing to note is that you will remain fully clothed for this type of massage. I would recommend loose fitting attire and minimal denim for the best experience. My masseuse, Pang, worked magic on me. I am a tiny girl but I like A LOT of pressure. It seems that most massage places can not get it right, but my experience here was perfect. I had that great "muscles like Jello" feeling all day Sunday, and by Monday I was 100% pain free. The owner let me know that it is best to call ahead and make a reservation as they fill up very quickly. They also offer a "Buy 9 Massages, Get the 10th Free" card. If the fact that I'm now due for my 10th free massage doesn't tell you how often we frequent this place, then maybe my Yelp check-ins will. To begin with, Peter is the nicest and sweetest man. He runs his business with a great sense of pride and customer service--a winning combination in my book. He is always ready to squeeze me in (no pun intended) and even called to check on me the first time I had an appointment and was late because I was lost. I started out by getting the 60-minute reflexology session and quickly upgraded to the 90-minute version as soon as I got a taste of what the latter was like. It always amazes me that they are able to find the tension in my body immediately. I'm always sore on just one side of my body from lugging my purse around the downtown tunnels on just my right shoulder, and they somehow always find all the knots and knead them right out. One time I did have a slightly more painful service than I would have liked, and I was sure to let Peter know. The next time I came in, he quickly told my "masseuse" to be more gentle, and they were awesome. I wish they would spend more time on my head than my legs/lower body since that's where most of my problem spots are, but I do like knowing that they would do so if I just made the request (which I definitely will next time). Even though everyone is getting massaged at the same time in one big room, the experience still somehow feels very private. That is, until the across the room starts to snore loudly for 15 minutes and the employees are too embarrassed to wake him up. (True story.) Consistently misses the mark. I've came to this place repeatedly over the past few months. The $30 option is decent for a general foot massage, but the "premium" table massage ($50) is consistently disappointing and poor value. There's a tendency to use elbows...for the entire massage and in some cases they use a fist to "massage". Does that sound relaxing? It's absolutely terrible being on the receiving end of someone's nub... The thirty dollar option is decent, since it's a simple foot massage, but when spending good money for a relaxing table massage, You would think they can do it right. Unfortunately, I've found that to not be the case, especially in instances where the guy/s giving the massage have absolutely no idea what they're doing. I've left in pain due to the absolutely terrible table massages...from multiple people. There are simply too many competing places for this sort of service to be tolerated. I recommend going else where, even if there's a price premium, especially for a full body massage. read more

Oasis vs. Triple Tree I have been going to Oasis for a while but through yelp I noticed Triple Tree was getting really good reviews so I finally decided to check it out. And the winner???? TRIPLE TREE!!!!! Why??? Everything was just right. It all started with a sign outside that said to enter quietly, then the owner asked immediately to put my phone on silent ... Both awesome because at Oasis people are not very respectful and enter loud or answer the phone, etc. Facility is bigger so you are not as close to other people as you are at Oasis. Bathrooms were really clean and the chairs are very comfortable. I got the Reflexology massage and every detail of it was awesome! They literally massage from head to toe even though it is a foot massage...and for the price you can't beat it!! Yes it is $5 more than Oasis....but totally worth it!!! James was my masseuse and he did a phenomenal job....perfect pressure and kept checking to make sure he was not hurting me! When I walked in I was greeted by a person at the front desk who asked what service I wanted. I told him I would like the $30 for the one hour foot reflexology. He then immediately told me to make sure my cell phone was on silent or turned off to be considerate of the other people getting a massage. This is great customer service. The massage was great, and I think the extra money is worth it. They focus more on the back, shoulders, and neck than the the other cheap $20 massage places in Bellaire. They also use Biofreeze during the massage, and if you are a runner you will definitely appreciate this. The bucket of hot water for your feet is a little hotter than normal so your feet are still warm while they are working on your face, neck, and arms. The massage therapists always ask if the pressure is good, and their English is very good. I will be going back here for a massage especially after running. They also have a customer free massage card. Once you buy 10 massages you will get one for free. The only reason I gave four stars for this massage was because the music could have been more relaxing. They were playing traditional Chinese Music, and I would have enjoyed slower more relaxing music. Thanks! read more

Wow! More words? Wow wow wow!!! This place is awesome! I have not been to a second place since I tried this one. Why is that? because if you know you money is totally worth it somewhere would you go risk it elsewhere? This place is not dirt cheap. There are plenty of places in China that will do a whole body massage like this place for maybe $18 and this place charges for $30 (plus tips --be generous! The people there work really hard!). While there is so much competition out there, this place has the gut to charge this much and still remains popular, you know there is something different in it. I have been a big massage fan and I have to say the massages in this place I have been getting are way better than most of the places I went in China (and there they work hard to keep their business). This place offer a stamp and you get one free massage after 9 visits. I am done with my second stamps already (though I usually go with my husband). Ms. Pang is my favorite. I always call ahead to make a reservation to have her work on me. She is super nice and knows how to do the job just perfectly (she also compliments on how in shape I am several times!). My husband doesn't have a favorite yet but every time we go we both walk out with a happy face. With all the intense exercises I do I can foresee myself continue to be a regular here and I will probably go this weekend again~ read more

Ive gone to similar places in Dallas an paid upwards of $100 for the same type of service but with alot more noise and not as much care and attention. The cost is $30 for 60 min. of head to toe treatment!!! They offer all kinds of detox remedies, massages and reflexology along with chair and traditional massages as well. Heard about this place from a friend who's been coming to this place for about a year and I also would highly recommend it to others. Its $30 for a 60 min head to toe reflexology. They start by soaking your feet in some hot water (with some medicinal herbs -- so don't be scared by the dark color!). and they work on your scalp, shoulders and arms first. After a few mins, they take your feet out of the water and massage your feet. They finish by massaging your back and legs. Sometimes they ask you what "strength" you would like, but I often start telling them what I do like. A word of advice -- just because you have a small Asian lady massaging you, do NOT underestimate her strength. Those Asian/Chinese ladies are freakishly strong. You also do not have to take off your clothes. My masseuse was Steve and he was pretty good which is why I request for him when I do go. The masseuse usually doesn't speak English well, but the front desk does so don't be worried if you don't speak Mandarin. And as everyone has already said, this place actually has a punch card like Star Snow Ice, 10 punches and you get a free massage! Walk-ins are accepted too in case you had a bad day and just wanted to drop by. I would highly recommend this place to others!! read more

Ok, i give triple tree credit for my remaining calm while being a high school teacher.. I go for the $30 reflexology at least twice a month...and they stretch out the knots that life throws in. This is not a wimpy massage. ..in fact, when I took my Dad here, he said he felt like he had been through a car wash....but iin a good way! The atmosphere is mellow...soft music in the background. ..and the owner, Peter keeps everything flowing smoothly. If you become a regular, every 10th massage is free. Call ahead to make an appointment...but you can usually get in on the same day. Decided to treat hubby and I to a nice reflexology massage and we both loved it!!! Now I must say that my hubby is one of those "manly" men that doesn't really like massages/spas, but even he really enjoyed it and said he would come back! They rub your head/neck/legs/hands and spend a good deal of time on your feet - which I LOVE!!! Hubs said that his feet actually felt better when they finished working on him (2 thumbs up & a high five to you TTC!) This place has a very nice ambiance and is clean and serene. Be sure to keep quiet & silence your cell phones when you walk in there and all will be well in relaxation land. They have one big open room with plenty of comfy chairs that they massage you in while you're fully clothed. I would say that they have roughly around 10-12 chairs of folks in there at one time. However, you never even notice as you drift off into peace and happiness during your epic reflexology session. I can't wait to come back! read more

You certainly can't beat the price. At least I don't think you can - I haven't looked around that much. I tried this place because it had such good reviews. And I am now a fan, but I can't go for "as good as it gets" because I've had "as good as it gets" in two other cities in the past. This may, however, well be as good as it gets for Houston. I got the kind of massage where you do undress, and it was quite thorough and mostly enjoyable. My masseuse did not have much English, and I had a little trouble conveying my meaning when something hurt. She did something to my legs that was a major, I'm-almost-up-off-the table, ouchie (and I'm pretty tolerant of pain during a massage), and it took a while to get her to stop. This is minor, though - she was very nice, and all else about the massage was great. I also don't think the person at the desk conveyed my major trouble spot to her - I didn't notice any particular extra attention to it and couldn't mention it myself during the massage, being unfortunately monolingual. I have not ever been to a massage place quite like this - there are not rooms, just curtains. If you get the kind of massage where you don't undress, you are in a big room with other people and no curtains. On the other hand, it means nobody talks much, and the music is nice. Since I rejected a masseuse when we first moved here because she was her favorite subject and she would not shut up, I didn't really mind this......! I didn't think about it at the time (I've not had a massage in over 10 years, due to trying to find a good masseuse when we first moved here and not succeeding at that time), but I now notice that I wasn't asked anything about my age and health issues nor asked to fill out any form. That strikes me as odd and possibly dangerous to the client, now that I think of it. I'm still probably going to go back because the price is so reasonable and I don't have any health issues (knock on wood). I might try the kind where you leave your clothes on next time, weird as that seems to me. It's more convenient and costs even less than the clothes-off kind, which I thought was a bargain. Oh, and - it's in a very nice shopping center with a lot of restaurants. If I had realized this when I made the appointment, I would have planned on dinner there. So when my friend told me about this place during my trip to see her in Houston for her wedding, I was ALL IN. The center is really big on being quiet to ensure that the tranquility is not interrupted, and it definitely creates a soothing, relaxing environment. You start by putting your feet in warm water which immediately made me want to curl up and take a nap, but alas, there was a massage to be had! While it was not the best massage I've ever experienced, it was pretty damn amazing for $30! They focus on every part of your body, and especially the feet, which I really needed after 8 flights in a two week period. They even massage your scalp a little which has always been my favorite thing. While I'd never previously considered residing in Houston .. for these massages at the current price point, I am suddenly a lot more willing to travel to Houston for work and play. read more

Definitely a great massage!!! I have been to many paroles including the mega franchise Massage Envy and this hands down beats all of them. Imagine a large room (I know that sounds off putting) with many small massage tables/chairs. Despite the lack of privacy, once the massage starts going you forget you are in a room with many other people. The music is Asian inspired and they emphasize SILENCE! My friend and I easily got an appoint an hour ahead for 60 minutes for $30! His massage therapist was a guy and mines a woman. I thought she did great! Just wish she would have used more care while I was on my back because her elbow kept hitting my head while she was massaging my back. Overall it was a great massage. Head to toes with emphasis on the neck, arms, head, and feet. Back was good as well just wish there was more of it. They give you a bottle of water when finished. This wasn't a standard massage, nor was it an hour long foot massage. As soon as we walked in we were told to be quiet (we were laughing at something earlier) and to silence our phones. We were led into a darkened room with relaxing music. I told them in advance that my friend was pregnant and they had a chair waiting for her. The first 15 minutes they work on your face/neck/head (this is why you shouldn't wear makeup). The next 30 are on your arms, legs, feet. The last 15 they work on your back. They massage through your clothes, so keep that in mind when deciding what to wear. They do not talk, nor do you. I would have liked to tell them to work on my lower back more than the upper.... But I felt like I couldn't break the silence. My massage wasn't quite an hour; It was about 45-50 minutes. It was still a great massage and I felt a world of difference. But all the little quirks aside, the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that my masseuse/reflexologist had long nails, and sometimes that really hurt. Whenever I flinched he let up, but it could have been avoided altogether. Everyone was respectful and courteous. In dire need of a back massage, I decided to check out Triple Tree after hearing a lot of great things about this place. I called perhaps 10 minutes away and they were happy to have me swing by. Among several different options, I opted for the $50 table massage for an hour. As if the masseuse knew exactly where my pain was, I was treated to a fantastic massage that rejuvenated me. First time here. I'm a member at Sanctuary Spa (LOVE THAT PLACE!) so I rarely venture out to try any new massage places. However, I've been getting so tense/achy lately and the prices at Sanctuary Spa are quite high. I needed a place to go to in between my monthly appointments. This place is awesome. $45 for 90 minutes?! Makes my day. The lady who worked on me put a lot of pressure into every squeeze which I prefer. The massage itself is considered "reflexology" so there was a lot of point pressure and less kneading/swedish style massage. I'm giving this place 4-stars because although it loosened up my tense muscles, I was looking forward to a more kneading. read more

Finally tried this place, in my favorite bellaire shopping complex next to yummy food and dessert, why not top it off with a massage. They dont get 5 stars because it is not a luxury massage place but you are only paying $30 for 60 mins of a deep tissue massage. You lie on a reclining large leather couch, with your eyes covered, your feet soaked in warm water, a large blanket over you, as they work from your scalp to your feet every muscle and every joint! I stood up afterwards and i swear i walk straighter! Next time i will ask for them to be a bit gentle...so i can fall asleep :) They have a punch card one free massage after 9 massages, i plan on using it all up! read more

Still been going here, the owner is so nice, last time I brought a friend and my fiance and he had a worker that had to go on emergency to take care of her kid so he sincerely apologized for cancelling the appointment but offered in person while we were there free yogurt right next door that costs like $5 a half pint or so. We're coming back later this week and have visited this place 5 times since my last review, $30 per 60 min reflexology. The process is they dip your legs into a hot herbal bucket, then you lay on your back for about 15 minutes or so they do your head, neck, shoulders, arms then hands and then they start working on your feet and then legs then at the last 20 or 30 minutes they flip you over and work on your back which can be a bit tough so just tell them to ease up a bit. They also shutdown on Tuesdays to continue learning and practicing to hone their skills which means they do care instead of other "ghetto" foot reflexology places in Bellaire Chinatown area. read more

I cannot believe that I have not written a review about triple tree center yet!!! I love this massage place- hubs and I won't go anywhere else! Clean and relaxing. I have only done the reflexology, and it's just perfect. read more
