I'm glad I only did 30 mins because these people did not know what they were doing . Fast movements and not deep tissue. The don't have rooms that their walls reach their ceiling which I wouldn't mind if it was worth it but the towel they put above your body they end up rolling it down half way down your butt crack and leave it there to go over once and then they spend the rest of the massage on your shoulders . I don't understand why my whole butt had to be exposed the whole massage when they weren't working on it , and considering that I heard men laughing - I could only assume their men employees were looking over from their half wall rooms. Hot stones were nice but I don't know why they felt like they still felt like their speedy hand movements were relaxing . They even shook me like if that was supposed to be a massage technique. Really great massages. The establishment itself is a little underwhelming, with curtains instead of doors on the private rooms and some open areas for couples massages, so you can hear customers walking in front door if they are loud. However, this hasn't interfered with my experience and my masseuse has always done a great job. The tables and linens are clean and the experience is still very relaxing. Also, I have to mention how they are so AFFORDABLE! I'm actually able to do massages more regularly because they give a great deal (so I don't mind missing out on some of the fancy pampering you get with expensive spas). Their family-owned and operated business is extremely sanitary and clean, the prices are quite reasonable and fair, and Eastern's masseuses are professional and respectful. We always leave feeling rejuvenated and grateful for our experience. There is never any wait time and the experience never feels rushed. We have utilized EFM for both body massage and foot reflexology and while both are wonderful, we always feel that reflexology offers the best value. If you are concerned about a language barrier, there is no need--their staff speaks good English and is always kind and polite. I appreciate how the masseuses always think about how my hair will be affected by the lotion and considerately use towels to ensure I don't leave looking unkempt. I'd give six stars, if possible! They take walk-in with no wait time, so it was easy for me to just come whenever I need to relax. Parking is doable on a weekday but tight on a weekend since it is in the same plaza as a grocery store. The inside is a bit small. Staff is usually friendly. They will walk you to your private room. Note that it is not completely concealed. The ceilings are open and the door is basically curtains. They give you time to settle in and change. I like the quiet atmosphere with low volume music. Sunny was very attentive and helped relax my muscles after I told her I was having neck pain and back pain. She first did a check to make sure she know where the tense muscles were. So I went back to this place again and it wasn't really the same experience. We called ahead to make sure they had availability for 3 people and they said to come at 6. Traffic made us a couple minutes late, but we were soon shown to our area. Then we waited about 5-10 minutes for them to fill the water and then we waited for 30 minutes. Our massage didn't get started until 6:35. The woman doing my massage kept leaving to answer calls or find masseuses for other clients, and when she came back she did some portions rushed or not very thoroughly. I saw all these great reviews and decided to come. I was so excited because I've been having lower back pain from sitting and studying so much and I wanted relief and relaxation from the stress. This place will not give you that. Yes, the prices are good, and I went for a #2 which is $35 (not $30 like another commenter said). It seemed great at first. The place is dark and mostly quiet (at least when I walked in) with soft music playing. It smelled pleasant with all the oil diffusers. But then the massage started. My first masseuse was great (yes I had multiple, stay tuned). She was gentle and slightly tough where she needed to be. But then the noise. It started to get louder and phones were ringing occasionally. No one seemed to shush anyone. Halfway through my first foot being massaged, who I assumed to be the owner stuck his head in and started talking to my masseuse. So she was half-massaging, half-talking. I wasn't annoyed at first because if it was urgent, then I didn't mind; stuff happens. She had to leave, which was disappointing but again, I was understanding. But then I'm there for about 5+ minutes with only one foot massaged. In comes the second masseuse. She continues on my right foot and OH MY GOODNESS, it was PAINFUL. Every single stroke was horrible. It was way too tough. Maybe not for a football player, but I'm a tiny girl, I didn't even have much muscle to squeeze out initially, but boy did she try to find them. I was just praying for it to be over - maybe her body massaging skills were better than her foot skills? No. Still pretty painful, not pleasant and gentle yet firm like the 1st masseuse. Oh how I missed her. The body wasn't that bad but again, I've had way more relaxing massages and this was not one of them. But here's the best part. Her phone rings. Full volume. An employee!!! Then she answers it!!! And talks on the phone!!! This was probably the most baffling part. Her phone would ring a total of 4 times, each time, she answered it, and talked to the person on the other end, meaning she wasn't massaging me for that time. My only solace was in the hot stones. My goodness that felt nice, but not because of the reasons they usually are relaxing, but because they essentially rubbed out most of the pain done to my back during her horrid massaging skills. Please don't go to cheap massage places. I learned this hard lesson FOR you. read more

Pros: Great massage therapist who worked out the tightness in my shoulders. Cons: After I finished my session, I saw a male staffer (possibly the owner/admin, since he was directing other staff) looking into a massage room while a client was in the middle of a session. The client was facedown and, I assume, unaware. A few minutes later, I had to pass by that room again, and he was still standing there, looking in, while other staff nonchalantly walked by. There is absolutely no reason why he should have been looking in on a client's private session. I felt extremely uncomfortable, both for my own privacy, and for that of others who may come to this establishment. Who knows, maybe he was completely harmless. As we were walking out, a male employee (possibly the owner) was standing outside another client's room and peeking inside. I'm pretty sure he was not the massage therapist. It made us feel extremely uncomfortable, unsafe, and creeped out. We're not sure if he peeked at us during our session or if there are others who do this here. Been going here since 2015, had times where I'd go every Sunday morning for months straight. Some masseuses or good and bad, it depends on who you get, so it's best to get the name of the person you want (sometimes they'll call that particular masseuse to come in if they aren't already there). But the owner is rude, will practically tell you that you better tip as you're in the middle of already grabbing the tip, even if you're a loyal customer who tips absolutely every time, it was so rude that that's the reason we haven't gone back. My husband and I were looking to get a foot massage, and were the area. Most places opened at 10. It was a little after 9:30 am, and I saw after searching that this place opened at 9:30. Perfect. My husband had a female masseuse. She also kept making noises as I'm guessing her hands were burning as well. We did not see as we were on our stomachs face down, but those two must have been handling the rocks bare handed. When finished, we gave them each a $20 tip. When we went to the counter to pay the $70 for the massages, there was an intimidating man at the counter. I handed him $80. He rudely said, "Bye have a good day." I stood there. Louder he said, "Bye!" I said, "Um you owe me $10." If looks could kill. Tension in the air. He gives me my change. I'm assuming he's the boss/owner. This is my favorite place to get foot massage in Chinatown, and I have been to plenty! I was so happy when I went here a month ago, then when I walked out, I told my friends that I will never go back to any other places. Edward was a very good masseuse. He helped to ease some of the knots on my body. I also liked that at the end, he "walked" on my body as well. My tips that are somewhat common sense, but I'll state them anyway: 1) make sure you're not wearing jeans; my boyfriend and I went on a whim so my jeans kept digging into my legs. 2) make sure you don't have any bruises because it'll definitely hurt. 3) consider asking for separate rooms if your boyfriends snores, because mine does and he fell asleep... LOL I came in at 4:50~ and waited 10 min ~ to be let into the room. I got the 20$/ foot massage, which was actually a neck/scalp/full back body/ and leg massage. I actually didn't like that at all because I dislike beck massages because I find them either painful or ticklish. This is simply my personal opinion. I'm sure many others would enjoy this option. I did however deduct a star for this. (5-1) At some points there was a Chinese lady who was excessively loud outside our area and really disturbed the mood. I deducted a star for this. (4-1) Also, the Chinese music they had on was relaxing at first, but then it became upbeat and joyful. I found that a bit odd. I did not deduct a star for this. My boyfriend's and my masseuse worked hard and I honesty felt bad and guilty for them because they seemed so worn out afterwards :( I added a star back for this.
