My lady, Anna, was great at relieving the tension in my shoulders, back, and feet from all the working out I've been doing lately. They have different massage options and the price goes up if you want more of a full body or deep pressure massage but the basic massage was perfect for us. The prices can't be beat anywhere. It's important to remember that since the prices are so low they do assume you'll give a decent tip. We both gave $10 each. I don't normally like to get foot massages - in fact, I really hate them, but my friend convinced me to give this place a try. Apparently she had gotten a lot of them while in China and said they're really relaxing. Anyway, we were in the Chinatown area after visiting some campuses, and saw Healing Foot. It looked really clean and fairly new (I think they just opened), and they were advertising a grand opening special of $15. The interior is really nice, and gives off a very soothing atmosphere. There are also separate rooms with very comfy beds. It's pretty much like a weekend-getaway place! I did think that the tiles of the floor didn't quite match the room, but whatever haha. So as for the massage, I told the lady who was helping me (her name was Dina) that it would be nice if she didn't apply too much pressure. I was super nervous whether or not there would be pain, but surprisingly it felt really soothing! I was able to relax and get all my stress drained away. My friend was helped by somebody named Jack, and she said that her experience was really good - comparable to her experiences in China. She said it was definitely worth the money. The overall experience was really awesome and changed my mentality towards foot massages! The location of Healing Foot is in a pretty quiet plaza, and the employees are really dedicated to making the experience a good one for the customers. WOW! After my massage was finished, I actually wanted to give the guy a standing ovation. (But I was too relaxed and my husband's massage was still going on because his started a few minutes later than mine and I didn't want to disturb them...) But seriously, that was the BEST massage I have ever had. I like the really deep, get-at-it massages and this was exactly that - and without being painful! (He asked me in Chinese what kind of pressure I like - good thing I understood and could respond!) Every single part of me that was in pain got the exact attention it needed - and there were a lot of places that needed attention. It was all just so perfect. One reason why I'm giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is because my husband's massage wasn't very good :( He didn't get the head/face massage that I got to start with and instead got mainly a foot massage and some back massage. $15 Grand Opening Special!!! Yeah, I figured this is pretty low risk so I decided to give it a try. Karen N. is right, the "ambiance" is, well... nonexistent. And to second Karen N. - get a room toward the front if at all possible. My first massage was in one of the rooms in the back and it was loud - employees talking and cell phones ringing. Up front, don't expect silence but the noise level is far more tolerable. I personally do not want a Swedish Massage - I need deep tissue baby! The first lady who gave me a massage was named Dina. She did a great job - perfect amount of pressure for my liking! After that first impression, I have gone back a few times and have always booked my appointment with Dina! If you are not accustom get getting a massage in this area, you are in for a treat. Don't be scared - it isn't some shady sex shop - this is the real deal! This is what to expect : is there a language barrier - somewhat, did your masseuse have professional training - probably not, is it a great massage - definitely! Another bonus is that these guys are open late - till 11pm every day! They are new, so right now, booking an appointment is pretty easy. Ok, so it's not The Four Seasons but they definitely don't need signs that tell you "no sex permitted here" either. (Yes, I have seen that before - GROSS!) Just a no frills kinda place. I've had pretty great experiences here! If you're looking for a deeper tissue massage, I would go with Jack or Dina. They will definitely work your muscles and check in with you frequently to see if the pressure is too deep. If swedish is more your speed, then I would go with Anna. I know all this because I have been three times in one week. Why not when they are running an intro price of $15 for an hour? Request a room up front, the ambiance is a bit more quiet than some of the rooms in the back. I've now been to a Chinese massage place enough to know what's good and what's not. This place is average. Maybe a little below. The Wife and I were meeting our two friends here and we were behind schedule because of some last minute car repairs. Of course, this caused some undue stress and anxiety so we were really looking forward to a massage. First off, the hot water that you soak your feet in, was already waiting there. You might think, "Oh, that's great!" Nope. It just means the water has been cooling for however long it's been sitting there. You know, you walk into MacDonald's and you say, "I want a Big Mac." The guy turns around, grabs one off the shelf and says, "here you go!" That's not the burger you want. It was warm, but I could have used it warmer. First comes the facial massage. This was pretty good. Very relaxing for the day we had. They do some pressure point stuff on your forehead, your eyes and your ears. They'll rub your scalp and then massage your neck. Everything was great until she started massaging my neck. At that point, it started to hurt a little. Then comes the arms. They'll massage your shoulder and the forearm and your hands. They'll also do some stretching. The lady I got was listening to something on her phone. I could hear a voice from her headphones and she didn't seem to pay much attention to me and my reaction to the amount of pressure she was using. I have knots in my shoulders. It's where I hold my stress and tension. She went to TOWN on those knots. It was painful. I thought to myself, "no pain, no gain. It'll hurt now, but it'll feel good later." I was wrong. I went home that night and my neck had a crick in it and my shoulders were so sore. Then the legs. I don't remember the legs much. They do get particularly close to your crotch, so if you don't like that, perhaps you should wear a cup. Then they flip you over and do your shoulders, back and legs again. This is where it really got crazy - not in a good way. I think this was the part that she just didn't use any feedback technique. She started jabbing her elbow into my shoulder and it was really terrible. So it finishes up and as others have mentioned, it's $20 for an hour. That's really kind of a steal. I think I would have paid a little bit more to not go home with bruised shoulders. But for $20, I didn't feel like i got ripped off. The Wife got a guy and she said everything was fine. Normally some guys will really use too much pressure but this guy was just right. All in all, okay. Oh, they don't take credit cards, so make sure you bring cash. read more

First time Chinatown "Foot" massage so I don't have much of a baseline though I have had other rubs before. Wife and I took my cousin and her husband because we wanted to show them something unique to Houston. 4 of us went; 2 different experiences. The 3 of them had super relaxing massages where falling asleep sounded, literally, like the norm. Mine, however, was seriously intense business. I'm not sure if the lady had some stress to rub out or if she sensed an evil spirit in me, but man, she went to town! The session started off awesome though. She started at the head and did some rubbing on the forehead and temple. She had really powerful thumbs. I really thought she could crush my skull, but she knew when to ease up. a quick rub of the shoulders, under the shoulders, each of the arms and hands, and we were onto the feet about 20 minutes in. It's not her fault that I didn't say anything, but I was really hoping that some of my squirming and fidgeting would send the signal that I was in some pain especially when she narrowed down the rub right below my ankle. Some of the foot rub was ticklish, but that's probably just me. After the feet, I got turned over for a back rub (15 minutes to go). I enjoyed all of the back rub though she did spend some of her time using her knees on my back. It was strong, but controlled. I was pretty impressed. Tipping etiquette at these establishments was confusing to all of us. We gave $5 tip for a $20 rub which we thought seemed reasonable, but we definitely got the impression that it should have been a little bit more... Don't judge this place from the outside, you'll be doing a major disservice to your tired, crampy muscles. This is not your standard foot massage, it is a full on manhandling of your knotty muscles from head to toe. One hour for $20 not including tip (they do work hard). Asian foot massages usually give the cursory light head, neck and arm massage followed by a thorough foot massage. Here you get much more for your money! It is more of a full body massage than a foot only massage. There are private rooms with chairs that are actual massage beds/tables vs typical chairs seen at other places. Of course, all of it is done over your clothes. This is not your typical relaxing massage at the spa though. The music is almost elevator music infused with nature sounds and the pink walls could be upgraded. But the massage was thorough and the attention to detail was obvious. They even have you turn over and give you a back massage which is nothing I've experienced before at an Asian foot massage location. Muscles were getting knuckled, smacked, and elbowed like the lady was trying to knead dough. But it was totally worth it because my feet felt like I could dance out of there. This isn't the place you go if you are looking for a relaxing reflexology session. Honestly, I'd give it a three but my friend LOVED her session so I'll bump it up a star. When we walked in, there was one person in there and she was in the middle of a session. I felt bad for the guy in there because she obviously stopped to come out and greet us (and then again to make sure we knew to wait two minutes). When our dudes showed up, they worked it! I'm sure this was the best foot sesh I've had (there is a close second but that's another review)! The rest of the body wasn't as awesome in my case but I still came out very relaxed and definitely less tense than I was going in. My friend said it was one of her best overall sessions and was singing her masseuse's praises the rest of the afternoon. There are two people working here. Last night we went to get a massage and owner was constantly interrupted and leaving the room. I was 40 minutes into my massage before she got started with my bf. The older lady does a great job and I always luck out and get her but it just isnt right. The owner sucks and it is a big waste of money and time if you get a massage from her. At the end, she said "sorry for small time," because she didnt even make up for the 40 minutes-- He got about a 20-30 minutes massage when we paid for an hour. read more

Best Asian spa that I've encounter in the Houston chinatown area. They really try to keep it quiet. You don't hear open conversations from the massage therapist talking to other co workers. There isn't loud Chinese music blasting in the background. The private rooms make a cozy atmosphere to relax. My friend recommended this place to me and I'm sure grateful because it's by far the best Asian massage in Houston. Having been to China several times and gotten amazing foot massages there, and having been disappointed many times trying to replicate that experience in Houston, I was convinced that I couldn't even come close to it here. Boy, was I wrong! My massage therapist, Anna truly works magic. I had a painful heal injury that had been bothering me for over a week. Immediately, after her massage it felt better. And one day after the massage, the injury was about 80% healed. I was amazed. Better than any of the places I visited in China! Of course, in China some foot massage places offer a variety of teas and some even include food, but honestly what counts is the massage and I'd be truly surprised if any massage in China can equal this one.
