Prosperous paradise spa is one of the only legit late night massage places in Chinatown. It's so legit that other masseuses from nearby places tend to choose this one as their favorite option after work. It would be hard to disagree, considering this is a place that reminds me of spas back in Asia. Undoubtably the prices skew somewhat higher, and while they offer credit cards as an option, the fee is almost never worth it. Cash is king and they will round up, because most items and with .99 (e.g. $49.99). What I would argue is the facility is nice enough to warn the slightly higher price and overall solid massage experience. First timers will be directed to a binder, with a breakdown of multiple massages at different prices, and for different lengths of time. I would recommend looking at their website, or doing a little bit of research prior to coming. Sometimes calling ahead of time will work, as the lady boss speaks good English and is able to set appointments based on preferences. Eventually, most folks will be directed to change in their locker rooms, which have showers, vanity mirrors, and personalized lockers. Surprisingly all of the lockers are out of order, which I suspect is a safety measure than a functionality issue. The men's locker room is spotless and offers multiple types of showers. However, none of the lockers are in use or are able to be used. While they do provide shorts and uniforms for people, they don't provide baskets or ways to hold the clothes. People basically have to carry it around. One of their best services is the foot massage. It's excellent and one of the better places in Chinatown to get it. Their massage chair is out in the open and is fancy enough to have a built-in sink for foot soaking and comfy enough cushion to lay flat for front and back. Additionally, they will eventually do a neck, shoulder, and back rub (over clothes + towel) and it remains one of their best valued options. The rooms are extremely clean. It's extremely professional the whole time. They offer back walking which is their version of a deep tissue massage. Unlike a lot of other Chinese massage places where it's questionable from a hygiene standpoint, there is no worry of this here. They offer full bottles of room temperature water for everyone and parking is a cinch. Ultimately one's experience varies with every masseuse, but the men that work here pull off a very good foot massage and that would be my biggest recommendation. I thought I had done enough research before booking--checking Yelp, Google, TikTok, and other social media. While I noticed a few negative reviews, they didn't seem like deal breakers. Wanting to relax before a busy week, I decided to book a couples massage for my husband and me. When we arrived, it took about 8 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. During that time, all the employees were laying on the massage beds. We wanted to review the service menu to see if we could add anything, but instead of letting us browse, the staff rushed us and quickly closed the menu. The language barrier also made communication very difficult. We were required to pay before our service, which felt unusual but we went along with it. The spa itself is aesthetically very pretty, but the service experience was another story. We were taken to a room, given minimal instruction (just two words we didn't understand), and then left alone. Since this was our first Asian massage, we weren't sure what was expected--whether we should undress completely or not. There was only a thin sheet on the table, which added to our confusion. We went back to the front to ask, but again, the language barrier made it nearly impossible to get clear guidance. All we were told was, "You go on your back now." We assumed it was just a back massage, so we only undressed from the waist up--only to realize we were wrong. My massage was by far the worst I've ever had--rushed, sloppy, and honestly painful. I felt like I was being tossed around with no real technique, and at one point, the therapist even climbed on top of me, which I found extremely uncomfortable. It turns out the same person who checked us in was also my massage therapist. My husband had an equally bad experience with his massage. We left feeling sore, uncomfortable, and very disappointed. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, I left a $10 tip, but the therapist pointed to the receipt, insisting it had to be $52 for two people. When I explained that I did not enjoy my massage--that it was painful, rushed, and unprofessional--she rolled her eyes, ignored my feedback, and processed the receipt anyway. I cannot recommend this place. While the spa itself is beautiful and clearly has potential, the service was terrible, and the way customers are treated is unacceptable. This was my first time getting personal spa services; keep that in mind when I let you know of my opinions: Scheduling appointments is pretty simple it's all online on their website they take your card info down but they don't charge you till the day of. Day of the appointment we arrived and didn't get the most friendly welcome. Everyone seemed surprised when we showed up it seemed as if they were not expecting our appointments. Which is odd & even though my card info was saved for the appointment they charged me using a physical card BEFORE the service, which I found odd(but didn't bother me personally) My masseuse was very friendly & checked in during service to make sure everything felt good & adjusted according to my responses. At first I was getting a massage with towels over my whole body( is that normal?) eventually they did come off and she used oil on my skin then did the hot rocks part, By the time she got to my scalp I was ready to fall asleep. It was so relaxing The scrub session was my Favorite! They take a table into the showers and use the exfoliation gloves to exfoliate & wash you. And pour scoops of hot water on you. It was very relaxing. They also shampoo to wash your hair with if you so desire. However, no conditioner. I've been here 3 times and never been disappointed. It's unassumingly beautiful inside! The massages are legit and a fraction of the price of some luxury hotel spa where you don't get what you pay for. I've done the foot massage, whole body massage, Thai massage and gua sha and always walk out feeling like a new woman. My favorite masseuse is Miranda, but everyone has been really good. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! I was gifted a voucher for a 60 minute body massage and 30 minute foot massage which was about $162. I had an appointment scheduled for 3pm and upon arrival, they only have a phone number written and didn't even know what I was there for although it was explained before booking. They saw my voucher and placed me in a room where I was going to receive the massage. I was asked to leave underwear on and place TOWEL on top. I laid there waiting for employee and covered what I could. The employee knocked and entered without approval, she lifted towel completely without warning and exposed some areas. First 20 minutes of massage is with towel on top! I was then placed in another room where it was shared with others for a 30 minute foot massage. A guy was 2 tables away with a tent and moaning while receiving his foot massage. Another guy walked in to the establishment 10 minutes after very loud and laid at the table NEXT to me. He then kept speaking loudly and did not care of other customers around him. The ladies were speaking Chinese and he yelled at them "y'all talking sh*t?" Ugh! THEN.. He watched videos on high volume. I asked the lady to stop my massage because I felt uncomfortable. I went to change in the women's restroom where I was followed by the employee pressuring me to jump in the shower. She came back in and massaged my scalp down to my toes for 90 minutes. You can choose between soft, medium, or hard pressure . I chose medium. She also massaged me with hot rocks. That felt divine! Keep in mind to drink a lot of water before and after. As you are massaged toxins leave your muscles and enter the bloodstream. If you don't flush them out you will feel very nauseated and dizzy; malaise. They offer you plenty of water so that is not a problem. Also, this is a professional facility with licensed masseuse. I went to this luxurious spa with my friend Vickie! We got a couples message package and a girls day sort of thing. This spa differs from your normal message because your entire experience can take about 2 hours. The venue is full of traditional Chinese architecture, from the hand crafted rose wood dood to the paintings on the walls. The staff are so heartwarming and friendly! They escort you to a changing room where they give you a ban and a change of clothes with slipppers. The ban has a bLuetooth mechanism in it that unlocks an assigned wooden locker. You can use this locker to store your things during yyour experience. The changing room is covered in granite and marble. It includes stand up showers where the shower heads were made of gold. After we got changed, they led us to a room with two beautiful message beds. They had origami towels with two chairs to shit whip you take your slippers off and get into the beds. They gave us a Thai like message for an hour. We were then escorted to a hot room where you can enjoy tea, juice or water and allow the toxins to release from your body. We hung out there for about 30 minutes. The hot room was a surrounded in marble and traditional Chinese paintings of galas dancing. We took a nice hot shower after! read more

Yes, the establishment looks nice, clean, and well kept. I feel so bamboozled because the quality of the massage was far below mediocre at best. Seriously this must have been how those who attended the Fyre Festival felt. I'm very pregnant, very uncomfortable, and requested that my massage be focused on my lower body to relieve the pain; Hips, quads, calves, and feet. The woman who massaged me continued to only slather lotion on me after i requested that she apply more pressure. She grew argumentative in Chinese that she couldn't due to my pregnancy. I assured her I was carrying my baby in my stomach, not my quads or calves. I also assured her that I was in pain, not ashy skinned. After four requests, I finally had it and requested someone else. The manager/owner came by and brought someone else. Still, I got lotion applied on me instead of any form of massage. Fine, simply put, they won't accommodate a pregnant woman's feet. Simply put, I just won't EVER come back. Now, for my biggest gripe. My husband opted for focus on his lower back area. He voiced that her hands were light too. She did add more pressure EXCEPT she used no lotion and proceeded to rubbing his back profusely with her hands. He ended up with a skin burn on his back from the friction of her dry hands. Never have we EVER had marks anywhere on our bodies after a "massage". She was argumentative too and proceeded to burn him with the hot rocks after almost ripping his skin off with her hands. The manager assured us that the ladies were "professionals at massaging". I'm not sure what their definition of professional is... maybe in prison this would have been acceptable. Strange they only cover you with a bath towel, then for half of the massage it was like getting a carpet burn with him massaging my back through the towel. Some stretches were a lil too heavy handed as I am not a pretzel. You have a Paper towel to place your face through when you're face down but the linen under smells like wet laundry you allowed to sit in the washer too long Anyways overall staff seemed pretty friendly and massage was decent. Visited for the first time today with my daughter and niece. Nice environment as soon as you walk in. However, was required to pay for services up front - no problem right? Paid over $320 for spa services and paid with credit card. I added a $10 tip and when the guy at the front desk looked at the receipt he said is the tip $10 total or $10 per person (myself, daughter, and niece). So I said $10 total - and pointed to where I added the amount (amount for service plus tip) at the bottom of the signed receipt. Clearly the math added up to a $10 tip total. He then says, "but that's only $3 per person. I said, "a tip is voluntary, I'm paying over $300 for the services." He then says, "yeah, but that's only $3, $3, $3 each person - as he pointed to each of us. So I ended up adding to the tip - for a total tip of $30. At this point, I was not pleased with being pressured to pay MORE for a tip when I was already paying a significant amount for services. Plus, I was paying for the services AND the tip before the services were rendered. We proceeded with our body massage w/ hot stones and foot massage. The guy showed us our room and pointed to the beds. No instructions - like undress and wrap towels around you and someone will be with you. So I said do we get undressed here and then what? Mind you, we were not directed to a locker room or changing area - we undressed in the massage room. The massage was not so bad. After the massage, we got dressed. My niece got dressed first and headed out to the car. However, one of the ladies went to her before she could make it to the car (already outside though) and told her she needed to come back in a pay the tip, "it's mandatory." When I got to the counter the same lady asked me "Did you pay tip?" I said, I paid the services and the tip before the massage. She says, "let me see the receipt" and picks up a stack of receipts and I say "it's the one with the $30 tip." She says, "oh ok - thank you." NEVER again will I visit this place, nor would I recommend. At first, I will admit it hurt at first but as the massage went on it started to feel really really good. My shoulders were tense at first but after a long while they started to feel looser. Getting dressed was kind of awkward but if you can bypass that, the massage was pretty decent. My girlfriend and I just visited this place for an early valentines celebration. We got the couples massage+hot stone+foot massage. What was weird is that I got the female massager and she got the male massager. The whole time I needed more pressure which The female couldn't do. Upon entering they have you strip to nothing and have a towel lay over your nude body. Then they massage over the towel and under it, they touch the butt area and inside the thigh so if you're more strict on privacy then I'll say you should be vocal about it. I recommend the hot stone which feels really good and the foot massage is super relaxing. Our body massage session lasted under an hour but they make up the time with foot massage. CONS: I do not mind having a male massager massage my gf but she complained that he lifted her up in a way that exposed her breast and he was standing in front of her so he has a good view of it.
