I dropped my laptop on the pavement a few days ago and was devastated because the last time I had to get my computer repaired it took many weeks. My laptop refused to start up on a Saturday afternoon, and of the 4 or 5 local businesses I found, these were the only guys who picked up the phone. (One other place had an answering service.) It sounds like the business is run out of the various techs' houses; they prefer to pick up your computer and the fee for doing so ($69) is applied to the service. Tim came by a little later than he'd said (well, it was a Saturday) and was polite and professional. He called Monday with a price; computer was repaired the next day and dropped off where I work. There's a 30-day warranty for most work. Included in the $190 or so price: removing a virus, providing advice on how I got it, a reminder that our internet provider gives customers free antivirus software, a complimentary data backup, and pickup/dropoff. My Dad's laptop was full of viruses and he gave me the task of finding a place to get it fixed. I contacted Triple Check Techs after seeing all the positive reviews. I left a voicemail and got a call back from Greg and explained the laptop issues to him. He then offered the option of me either bringing the computer over to their shop or having Tim come over and pick it up from my location. I decided to opt for Tim to pick up. We set a time and Tim came by to pick up the laptop. This happened on Thursday afternoon.He was very courteous and before leaving took the time to look at the laptop to see what was going on. He mentioned the possibility of the CMOS battery needing to be changed due to date/time being inaccurate. So he took the laptop and I got a call later that evening to go over the programs on the laptop and whether I used them or not. By Saturday morning I got a call from Greg stating the laptop was ready and scheduled a time for Tim to return it. Tim came by with the laptop and mentioned the laptop had 33 viruses and over 2000 traces that were removed. The price of $129 was reasonable I thought. Last week my work computer, which had always been a bit slow, just became unbearable, as even basic tasks like email started to cause program freezing and shutdowns. I found Triple Check Techs through yelp and called them in the afternoon to see if they could come take a look. They were available to come same day if needed for a free consultation but I scheduled for the next morning. The next morning, Tim and Greg showed up and took a look at my computer. They quickly gave me a diagnosis (a bunch of unnecessary programs running and some other things that could be quickly fixed) and I asked them to go ahead and repair it. In about an hour my computer was running as fast as I'd ever seen it. Their prices were also quite reasonable and I was glad to pay so that I didn't have to watch that hourglass appear every time I did anything on my computer! They are also available to take on more ambitious IT solutions for businesses such as setting up networks and new computers. Based on their speed, responsiveness and quality service I will definitely consider working with them in the future on bigger projects. read more

I'm new to the area, so I didn't have anyone to ask for a referral for my recent computer crash. So I reluctantly used Yelp to find an IT guy. I have a custom built desktop pc that's a few years old and one morning it failed to start. It ended up being a hard drive failure. I dropped my cpu off with these guys and from start to finish the communication we had was awesome. I literally called them 10+ times and they were nearly always available or returned my call immediately. The price was fair for the work completed, he made sure my new windows software was installed and up and running before he returned it. Turn around time was great. I dropped it off on a Friday and got it back that Sunday, and he even blew out the 3 years of dust and pet dander that had accumulated inside of it. If there was a law against laptop abuse, I would most likely be found guilty on all possible counts. My second-hand 7 year old Dell has certainly suffered all manner of indignities during the 5 years I have owned it, and yet it continues to function thanks to the brilliant troubleshooting service of Tim from TCT. While Tim is not a "miracle-worker" (he's a technician, NOT a magician), and clearly there ARE limits to what can be fixed, not only was Tim's technical expertise gratifying, his personable manner while sorting things out was only exceeded by the reasonable cost of the excellent service provided. TCT exemplifies all the attributes of what a small independently-owned business should be. Forget the hustlers at the "big-box" stores and give them a try. 5 STARS for sure. read more

The first time I used Triple Check Techs was to fix a broken laptop screen. I called them up again a few months later to repair my laptop after a NASTY virus took over. Greg quickly took care of it and then helped me back up my files onto an external hard drive. Once again, I noticed the difference between using a small company versus a big box. I personally did not have a chance to purchase their services but for a very good reason. My printer got damaged and when I was requesting a quote, Greg was very honest and told me it was not going to be worth the price over the cost of just getting a new printer instead. He even gave me lost of information for my own reference at no cost and replied promptly. Will definitely consider them for future services! Tim and Greg worked really hard to fix my external hard drive and recover as many files as possible. I called them to see if they could help me, and the next day they came and picked up my hard drive. They worked on it for a few weeks, recovered a bunch of data, then ran it again with a different recovery process and found even more files. They built a new hard drive for me and transferred all of my files. I was originally quoted quite an outrageous number by Best Buy to fix my drive, and Tim and Greg helped me for a much more reasonable price. Found them on yelp.com. They were very thorough on their diagnostics with my laptop and found that have of the memory was not connected correctly. Hands down most friendly IT guy I ever met. My laptop crashed. Greg helped me restore my files quickly and I was on my way again in no time. Totally worth the 30 min drive. The IT guys closer home were asking impossible questions and could not provide the 'wait while you are being helped' that Triple Check Techs offered me. These guys are awesome. I had a Mac HD that I needed to get data off of and have it transferred to Fat32 (PC) format. Greg picked it up, explained the pricing and took it back to their office. He called me a few times to let me know the progress and then dropped it off a few days later (on a Sunday). He was incredibly nice and did a great job. I got all my data back. I had called another business that had a minimum of a $250 charge (didn't give me an actual quote), but Greg did it for $99. They retrieved everything off the old computer, provided an excellent value priced recommendation for a replacement tower, loaded to new computer (including loading addition software I had needed for Microsoft)...AND they came to my house! So glad I found this company! We are new to the area, definitely had a virus on our desktop, but had let our protection expire during the move. I was looking for a company that would come to the house to clean it up, but did not want the big chains....I wanted a local company.
