Went to DPC Computer Repair today just off Ogden Ave. in Naperville and was extremely impressed with the quality of service. I had a 2015 Macbook Air laptop that had a cracked LCD screen behind the glass of my computer and a few bent corners on the cover panel. There were pixel streaks going all across the screen and I needed my Macbook fixed for the upcoming school year. I came in with my broken Macbook around 3:30 pm CST and was given a quote immediately upon arrival. The cost was MUCHH cheaper than the Best Buy Geek Squad and Apple store repair estimates...really the repair prices don't even compare to anywhere else, this place is cost effective. Anyway I dropped off my Macbook around 3:30 pm and around 4:45 pm I received a phone call from the store letting me know that my Macbook was fixed and ready for pickup...the entire repair really only lasted about 30 minutes to be honest, but the guys at DPC actually fixed a few of the bent corners I had on my Macbook for FREE! These are the type of people you actually enjoy giving your money to because they take on your problem as their own, don't waste your time, and make sure all the specs are to your liking before you're charged for maintenance. With a low-cost repair and a very time efficient staff, DPC clearly takes care of their customers with their quality of work and time efficiency. I also picked up an Apple Magic Mouse from the store that was 'like-new' at a very low-cost which worked perfectly when I got home. It doesn't get any better than DPC Computer Repair! I became aquatinted when a co-worker - that lives in Naperville - recommended them to me. I have an older MacBook Pro - that does what I need it to do - most of the time - and I'd rather not spend the money to replace it - if I don't have to. I've brought it to DPC - for a variety of reasons - over the past couple of years. Today was a great example of what makes Don and Adam so great. Last night my laptop was giving me a problem. DPC was closed - so I visited the Apple store near my house - and was given a diagnosis. I called DPC this morning - explained what was going on - and Adam told me to bring the computer to them. Bottom line - the diagnosis I got form the Apple store was WRONG! Don made an accurate diagnosis, fixed the problem and sent me on my way. I'm as far from being a "techie" as anyone could be - so if you're like me - when it comes to technology - you're at the mercy of those with the knowledge . As knowledgeable as they are - Don and Adam don't condescend. They're kind, honest and respectful. They also have a good inventory of used desktops, laptops and monitors. I can't say that they'll always fix the problem "on the spot" - as they did today - sometimes - understandably - you'll have to leave your computer with them. But they'll always give you the "straight dope". They're great guys - go see them! read more

My Apple MacBook Pro was having a lot of issues and running very slow. I tried to book an appointment at an Apple store and first available was late evening the following day. I have used Apple in the past for repairs similar to this one and have left with a hefty bill, my laptop basically the same, and the solution was to buy the newer version. When I went into DPC I was greeted by Don and he quickly went to work on my laptop. He ran multiple tests and kept me up to date on each one, in basic terms I could understand. He fixed the basic problem, but when we both were looking at my computer we noticed it was still a little slow. Better then before but not that fast speed we were both hoping for. Instead of sending me on my way, he said he wasn't satisfied and wanted to open it up to check out whats inside. He insisted on keeping the laptop for more tests and would update me when he knew more. Later that day he called and let me know that I was slow because I needed updates and he was happy to do that at a very limited charge. Bottom line,...I picked my laptop up the next day, paid a very very reasonable price, and left with what feels like a brand new laptop. I will never again go to Apple for repairs. I had the opportunity to select a computer repair provider today. A computer built by a relative and then gifted to a friend of mine died. Wouldn't power on. Reading through Yelp reviews, D PC Repair Seemed like they really had a superior level of expertise, and their photographs showed a well organized and professional operation. They were only about 10 miles away, so we loaded the big tower in the trunk and headed off to their shop. Parking was easy - they are the end shop with almost private parking spaces right in front of their door. The shop is as professional as the photographs imply. Lot of tech space and expertise. They immediately hooked up the computer, and quickly identified a bad power cord (I hate it when I miss the obvious). So it boots and looks good, but before they let us go they run a full diagnostic on the hardware and check the OS to be sure it is really OK. And they didn't charge for any of the work. No question where I will take my computers in the future (both Windows and Mac!) It is fairly common to find technically competent repair folks. It is much rarer to find great customer service as well. This is one great store. read more

The fan on my laptop died and, after visiting few repair shops that could not help me as they did not have the right fan model and would require several days to get it, in one of the shops I was told that DPC might have the right model or, if they do not, they can get it quickly. I went to DPC and Adam, their service manager was with me imediately and told me that they do not have the right model for my 17" Envy HP laptop but that they can get it in feqw days. He told me that I would have to pay upfront the cost of the part and that I will have to pay for the labor once the fan is replaced. The cost of the fan was very reasonable and after brief and very friendly negotiations I accepted the cost of labor. The part was in on the day Adam sais it will be and I scheduled the visit for the repair. The old fan was replaced and the new one was instaled in about 15 minutes and Adam demonstrated to me that everything works fine. Overall, friendly and trustworthy crew, everything was done in the time and for the cost agreed upon. I strongly recommend them. read more

I have 25 years experience in the Silicon Valley as a Software Developer, the only reason I didn't DYI is because of the complexity of the MacBook. My MacBook suffered sever water damage and Don saved it including my hard-drive for 30% of what the Apple Geniuses wanted. I cannot say enough good things about Don's business first he is a true hardware specialist, I could tell from the onset when he was explaining how two of the screws on the macbook are different then all the others. Secondly it seems he has a bone yard of used MacBook parts which allows him to replace broken parts of the MacBook. And Finally his knowledge of the MacBook hardware , the boards , very self-evident when speaking to him. I suspect if you add up the cost of applecare plus the fee for repair it will be way over what Don would charge. I hate apple products but they are little akin to narcotics, once you get hooked its tough to switch to something lesser. I applaud Don for allowing me to keep my MacBook and not having to down grade to a Linux based Laptop. Tom read more

I was ready to call time of death on my HP, forever to boot (even wake up), crashing if you looked at it wrong, forever to load any page (even Google search page), etc. One last ditch effort, I took it to DPC. The customer service is great. I walked in in full on panic mode with dying computer and he immediately set me at ease. Explained what the problem might be, how long to diagnose and what he can do to fix the problem. Didn't give me all this computer lingo and make me feel like an idiot (like another LARGE company that sells computers and phones in their super sleek store downtown Naperville), I left my computer behind with confidence. Less than hour later he called, told me what he thought the problem was and what he was going to do and quoted me a price. 2 hours later I'm back, he was able to get my computer back and better than ever and I didn't lose any data or anything!!! and the price can't be beat ($128 to fix it and it runs BETTER than new!!!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING HERE!!! GOOD PRICE & QUICK SERVICE I brought my Razer Blade 15 laptop to UBreakIFix to replace the CPU fan and battery. I ordered the parts on Amazon for around $70 in total. This place said that they cannot accept outside parts and each part (battery and fan) would cost about $199 each if they ordered them. They said that the service would cost around $300-500 and would take 1-2 days for diagnostics and 3-5 days to order parts and receive them. I went to DPC Computer Repair with the parts I ordered on Amazon. They installed them in less than 10 minutes and only charged me $40. $300-500 in about a week long service vs $110 for less than ten minute service and parts. I would have fallen for the $300-500 price if not for a previous repair store telling me it is cheaper to just order the parts online and have someone install them for you. As a software engineer with a few side hustles requiring lots of compute power and flexibility, having an 11 year old son who loves his PC gaming experience and is 'learning' how to take physical care of is gaming laptop lol so breaks a drive here and there, and also me being much harder on ANY businesses "product" and overall experience, I'd give them 11 stars if I could...before you go to Best Buy or somewhere worse, check out their computers - but be patient they come and go fast (testament to their quality and price IMHO, and I've always price checked them against other shops, big and small). They know their stuff, and won't BS you (even from hearing them converse with other customers who are not so technically inclined, they are great at communicating expectations). I always walk away from this shop with a smile - they know how to run a business and care for the customer. I've been a customer of DPC Computer Repair for 5 or 6 years now. I drive my computers into the dirt...they are my livelihood, my job, my hobbies. I'm a designer & music teacher. Adobe, Logic, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut, ProTools...I use all of it. I just work them hard. Constantly running high CPU software, it's like driving a car 90mph; compared to a normal user who checks their email & uses excel, facebook & youtube, which is like driving a 4 cylinder engine for 200k miles. So naturally, like a car that gets driven hard, some of my computers break down over time for one reason or another. DPC is like the equivalent of an affordable Nascar Pit Team for my computers. They fix them quickly, affordably, without frills & effectively. I trust Don & the people who work there, which is as important as everything else when it comes to technology services. For whatever reason mine and my girlfriends computer just completely shut down for no reason. Wouldn't charge - nothing. Dead. Thought about going to the Apple Store but decided I'd be better off supporting local business.. AND IM GLAD I DID! This guy took both computers, worked some sorcery sh*t and now both computers are workin fine. What sold me was his genuine concern for not just solving the problem, but finding the root of the problem. After having taken both computers apart, he decided to take one of them apart AGAIN to run a couple more tests because he didn't feel right with me leaving knowing one computer was still running incredibly slow. THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE! It was a walk in appointment and this man just dropped what he was doing and helped me out. Best part: he only charged me a SMALL service fee. Good prices, Good people. My laptop started boasting a fan and battery error at me. A simple enough repair that I was sure wouldn't cost me much. WELL! Joke is on me because a lot of the quotes I was getting were upwards of $130-$150 to simply pop a fan in and out! Honestly, I'd never wished more than I did then that I'd gone to school for IT. Thankfully, DPC was the most reasonably priced business and Adam, the man who dealt with my "case", was extremely helpful. The service was quick! It only took one day, since the parts were in his inventory, and my laptop was ready for pick up. It can be really intimidating going into these places when you know very little about the inner workings of your computer, but the workers did not talk down to me or make me feel incompetent. I'd give 50 stars if I could. Don, the owner, really cares about you, his customer. I brought him a dead computer and he correctly diagnosed the problem while I waited (bad motherboard). In an attempt to keep my costs down, he searched several recycle centers for a replacement. That wasn't successful so he found a replacement on eBay, ordered it and installed it, all for a very, very reasonable price. It felt great to work directly with the owner who is the same person who does the work, not a faceless technician. He was always available on the phone or in person. And it always felt like he was on my side, attempting to find the best and lowest cost solution. There's a reason that DPC receives so many 5 star reviews. I presume that other repair shops are good, but I put DPC in the OUTSTANDING category. I was impressed, and you will be too. read more

I continue to use my older Laptop because it runs software that I use for my job more effectively than my brand new laptop (not 100% compatible). Anyway, the frame around the screen of my older laptop broke so that I couldn't open it without it starting to pull away from the screen. I made several calls to see if anyone could repair it and no one was able to help me. Thankfully, someone told about D PC Repair in Naperville. They were able to locate the same screen model and swap it out. I got my laptop back the following work day and the cost was reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend D PC Repair in Naperville. Just an amazing experience. Had an issue with my older HP Pavilion PC. Couldn't even get anything on the screen and the diagnostics I could find online said it was a memory or motherboard issue...waaaay outside what I can do. Brought it in and they said they would look at it. Within a few hours they had the whole thing fixed and like new for less than $40! I never thought I would get my computer working again, and certainly not that fast or for that price! I was afraid a store would make up some story about an expensive fix or a new computer or data recovery but not DPC. They were fair, fast and a pleasure to work with - honest and helpful. I just got off the phone with Adam the service manager at DPC. He is fantastic. I am not a computer geek by any means so when I need help Adam needs a lot of patience for this lady! He has repaired my "broken" computer and salvaged as much as he could and got it working great. Today I needed his help bc I laid on the computer and locked some kind of configuration that wouldn't allow me to type and I was going crazy. I even purchased another keyboard bc I thought I had messed mine up. Well after he walked me through it all and unstuck the problem for me, I can now type again. After over 10 years of good performance from my MacBook Pro I ran into some problems-- the computer wouldn't boot and the battery was done.. I had all but given up hope after hours of self done diagnosis, software installs and hard drive erasing. I stopped into DPC expecting to hear the worst... Adam quickly diagnosed the problems, installed a new hard drive and battery and had me on my way-- all for way less money than I ever expected to pay! Don (Someone correct me if I got his name wrong!) is a very knowledgable guy. He can work on both PCs and Macs. He was able to give me a super reasonable price for a 2011 MacBook Pro screen/complete upper part of the device replacement as well as a memory upgrade. A woman who works there also did a detailed cleaning of my MacBook for free. Not only is my MacBook fixed. It looks a lot better as well! And I was able to pick it up the day after we dropped it off. The people who work here are very sweet and knowledgeable. They don't try to rip you off. :-) Also, they do sell some used PCs and Macs at the shop. Monitors and some accessories as well. read more
