Buyer beware! These people are shady. Very dissatisfied with this place. I actually thought I was dealing with an honest business since this was my 2nd time shopping here, until I realized I was charged more for a computer than was advertised. After contacting the owner, and explaining to him I didnt realize I purchased the same computer as was advertised, and was charged $50 more than the adv price. He stated I was required to mention the ad. The ad, which was posted on FB Marketplace did not state that I had to mentioned the ad to get the deal. He has now stopped responding to me. read more

Ugh, computer problems are the worst. When my laptop wouldn't read discs, I panicked, wondering if I'd have to go through some Contacting Dell nightmare or another costly Geek Squad nightmare. I decided to go local and see if the Com2 guys, right down the street from work, could help out. Com2 is located in a little Lombard strip mall right on the corner of Roosevelt + South Main Street - directly across from the White Castle and next to a Dunkin Donuts (park by the fence next to Dunkin.) They have a little retail area with refurbished computers for sale (desktops, laptops, towers..) set up on baker's racks and a display case with all sorts of gadgets and parts that I couldn't name if my life depended on it. I gotta be honest, though - it's VERY bare bones and a bit unkempt in their workroom behind the display case/counter. The guy(s?) seem to know what they're doing, and $120-something (including a $45 diagnostic fee) and 2 days later, I had my laptop back. I did have to ask some pointed questions upon picking it up, as the guy didn't communicate much what the problem was or how I would prevent future issues, and I felt like I had to dig a little to get a more thorough explanation. (Perhaps it's a cultural thing?) Being a tech n00b wasn't helping me much. I also needed to ask for my battery/charger (even though it had been labeled and documented during my drop-off). In all they got the job done, but I'd personally be more comfortable with a business who was more forthcoming about my computer issues and able to answer all of my questions without my having to play Twenty Questions. read more

I work in Lombard and my computer would not power up. I took it to Com2 Computers just to see if they could look at it. I told them it was a rush to please help me out to look at it right away as I was not able to work without it. I was told they would do the diagnosis within 2 hrs and I received a call within that time frame and they were able to fix it. so within 3 hrs after I dropped it off I was able to get back to work. My hard drive crashed and I needed a replacement and to see if any data could be recovered. The owner (I am assuming he is the owner) indicated he could have me back up and going in less than a week. A week later I called for a status and the owner said he was waiting on me to call him to indicate he could begin the work ... what!? Two weeks after the initial drop-off, I stopped in the shop and was told he needed a few more days. I stopped in again around day 16 and he was "finished" replacing the hard drive but was still working on data recovery. I took the computer home and it was working properly ... for about 12 hours. The hard drive he installed was either defective or not compatible; something a computer repair shop should know. I returned to Com2 to now have the hard drive replaced again (under warranty). At this point I began stopping in daily. Day 18, nothing. Day 19, nothing ... On day 21 I indicated to him that a job that could have been done in a matter of days has now taken over three weeks to get right. The next day, the computer was ready but, again, the data recovery was "still being worked on." I knew it was ready because he called me about 6 or 7 time the night before while i was coaching baseball. I returned to my car to find several missed calls and 3 voicemails. When I went in the next day for the computer, I asked him for the physical hard drive back. He went in back for several minutes (5-10) before returning with the drive. I had already paid him for the hard drive replacement. At this point he had the nerve to begin to ring me up for the data recovery - the data recovery which NEVER happened on the original hard drive. He had only recovered the minimal data from the defective drive that he had installed. I told him I had already paid him MORE than what his "services" should have cost me and left the store. The owner of this shop is either incompetent or overworked. He tells every customer that they are "getting a discount". I saw one man ask how much something would cost and he replied, "I'll give you discount." The man replied with frustration, "Yes, but how much will it cost?" Do not use this shop for computer repair! I should have bit the bullet and gone to BestBuy/GeekSquad. He has no concept of customer service, communication or general etiquette. read more

This is probably the worst business I've ever encountered. I took my laptop to this place late November 2015 to get it checked out. The laptop was turning on but the display screen wasn't working. The representative I spoke to told me it would take about a week or two to complete. The first process is t daignos the issue then he would call me. If agreed to the pricing he would move forward and fix the computer. I waited for his call a week went by then two weeks went by and I didn't get a response. A month goes by and haven't heard from them so I decide to give them a phone call mid January 2016. Upon speaking them they had no idea who I was and look me up and told me that they had ordered parts and were waiting for the parts to come in. Another two weeks go by and no call I call again and he tells me they're still waiting for the part. By this point I had bought another laptop but I still wanted my old laptop because of what was on it. I was not really in any rush but I did expect to get my laptop back within the timeline that they said. I did not get a call from this man ever and early March of 2016 I got fed up and visited the location. I told them that I wanted my laptop back and I'll take it somewhere else. He told me he ordered the parts and was expecting parts. I told him he had two more weeks and if they had not fixed it, I would just like to take my laptop. Good and Bad. Kashan seems like a decent dude. My hard drive crashed on a toshiba laptop and he quoted me at $150. He's got a few macbooks that are refurbished so instead I got one with 4GB RAM and OS El Capitan for $300 out the door. He recycled the old toshiba for me but, I thought was standard to back up the files, he charged another $70 and didn't complete the job because I told him to stop! I didn't mind too much because I think I got a decent deal on the macbook. He seems very knowledgeable and although the place smells of B.O., no A.C!, I'd go back for my next PC adventure/ catastrophe. Terrible customer service and they lie to your face . Gave my laptop for Service(laptop was not bootingup) on Feb 3rd , was told that they would get back to me in a few days with the diagnosis and repair cost and was charged $45 upfront for it , which is fine . Even after following up after 1 week , i was not given a proper diagnosis and was told that they were trying to fix it as we speak and it had "motherboard" issues and they would get back to me with details . They did not contact me for 1 more week , when i went in store and asked for updates on my laptop, Prashant went in the backroom and was trying to screw in the back panel of the laptop without telling me a word , I had to ask several times to give me a proper diagnosis . He kept giving me excuses that they were trying to fix it for a reasonable price . It has been 2 weeks , and they had not contacted me with neither diagnosis or the cost to fix it and kept telling me it is motherboard issues . Even for the motherboard quotation , he showed me some motherboard from Ebay which cost like $230 , when i did my research the same motherboards were available for half the price or cheaper . He would not even give me a a warranty for the repair work . Stay away from this store, they are just not trustworthy . I lost 2 weeks and $45 for nothing , but just lame excuses . read more

On January 9, 2016 I purchased a Gateway laptop. When I got home I found out the charger is incompatible with the laptop and almost caused internal damage to the laptop. My advice is to not to go to Com2 for anything and go somewhere else. They will be reported the Better Business Bureau. read more
