The food here is unexpectedly superb! Unexpected because it's a small counter-service place with only a few small tables. Trinks lost a star due to the lack of seating and poor layout. The food is definitely 5 stars! All of the baked goods are made in-house and the ones we had tasted as good as they looked. Not like many coffee houses where the shipped-in pastries look great but are all bland and dry. I'm a huge fan of potatoes and the french fries and breakfast potatoes were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside, and not at all greasy. The sandwiches and breakfasts were top notch. Highly recommended! read more

Food was sub par. Coffee was good and so were pastries. Everything just seemed slightly overpriced. Restaurant itself was comfortable and with a great view. But what made my experience with my husband absolutely terrible was the one of the counter girls.. she was very unpleasant and continuously stomped around the dining floor picking dishes in an aggressive manor. She had long black hair and I heard another co worker call her something along the lines of maya? Not sure. Anyways management should have a talk with this person. WOW, no longer just a bakery it is now an unexpected gourmet treasure. Tried Trinks for their Mon.-Wed.-Friday dinner. They are known for good breakfasts and lunches but out do that reputation those evenings in Summer and Fall. Young staff, very energetic but efficient and friendly. We began with the clam chowder. One of the best we ever had, and that is saying something, because we are senior citizens!! Our main dish ($28) was a fabulous King Salmon filet, at least 10 to 12 ounces in a beurre blanc sauce (butter-white wine) that tasted so good we couldn't stop humming and smiling! The fish was perfectly cooked and not a single bone could be found. It was accompanied by roast fingerling yellow and purple potatoes with green beans and a clover like green, the plating was beautiful. For desert I asked if their blueberry pie was tart and the waitress said "I'll let you taste it" and brought over a small bowl with about 4 heaping tablespoons of the pie! It was delicious but not very tart like prefer it so I ordered the peach pie without any toppings. Unbelievable flavor, it was served hot in a large bowel, quite enough for the two of us. We left stuffed but happy. This is how Kings and Queens eat!!! Five stars plus. read more

I have been coming here for years with my husband. We come up for weekends from the bay area and we love this town. Unfortunately this time was extremely unpleasant. I'm not sure if the management has changed but the food absolutely has. We hadn't been up since summer of 2017 and things were fine then but this time we were just so disappointed with the food and lack of creativity in the dinner menus. we were such huge fans of the weekly dinners but this time the food was boring and almost cafeteria like. hope things turn around and changes are made. Front of the house employees seem miserable, and need to learn better customer service ( especially woman with long dark braid) all in all disappointed will be back in a few months with hopes that it will be better! read more

The food was okay, but I wouldn't tell you that you had to go. The quinoa burger was mushy and didn't have a lot of taste and the beef burger was big, but not that special. The fries were hot, but on the greasy side. The service wasn't very good either. We were never given more water or asked if we wanted another glass of wine or beer. The best part of the meal was the dessert! The desserts are fabulous!! read more

Good food well-prepared at reasonable prices (for a touristy spot), great and friendly staff, super location. Casual, popular with locals and visitors like us. We have had breakfast here several times and always recommend it to folk for a good meal with a casual but spiffy ambience. Tourists. We took advantage of their Friday night dinner. We had the fried oyster and the carrot salad, followed by dessert. Oysters were just OK. The salad had some nice flavors, although the orange vinaigrette was drowned out by the cumin. We had dessert too. They were good, not great and the portions are a little too generous. I have been to Sea Ranch every year since I was born and so I have had the wonderful opportunity to watch this local establishment grow. In a word -- yum! We had lunch here, the BBLT (pt Reyes bleu cheese, bacon lettuce tom) and the Irish Club (smoked salmon, bacon). The salad of the day was a marvelous potato salad with chipotle mayo and bleu cheese, which sounds totally bizarre but was totally delicious. My darling husband also had the Caldo Verde soup, which was astonishingly tasty (yes I had a bite, mmmm.) This is an unpretentious local place. You place your order at the counter and a server brings it to your table. Very pleasant staff, and many components of their dishes are locally sourced, and so wonderful Paper napkins and plastic cups. But the food alone compels a 5 str rating. Nice side view of coast and breakers both inside and outside. Plenty of free parking in the lot in front. Ceiling space heaters outside weren't really needed today, but with the usual cooler weather of the Northern Cal coast, I'll bet most of the time the patrons are glad to have same. Got some cookies to go which we shared later in the afternoon with coffee. Better than homemade; try them, you won't be sorry. It makes me wish we were staying longer. We would surely return and sample more of Trinks' delights. PS Trinks -- an odd name -- and I have no idea where it came from! read more

My wife and I had takeout dinner and dine in breakfast on our recent Oct, 2017 visit to Gualala. This place has really changed since the last time we were in Gualala 7 years ago. It used to be a coffee and pastry place. Now they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is limited but what they have is great. They have a couple of chefs from the California Culinary Academy that do their best to buy local produce and meats. This is not a white tablecloth type experience. You order from the counter and then your food is brought to your table. You get your own silverware, napkins, and water yourself. The place is very clean and there is outdoor seating as well as indoor seating.Trinks is about the food and they will not disappoint. Prices are moderate. read more

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. I have to agree with other posters on the speed of the service. Pluses: eggs and coffee were good, applewood-smoked bacon was outstanding. Minuses: oily, not-crisp potatoes with harsh spices that did not work well, and the prices are ridiculous! Cost us over $30 for two small breakfasts that would cost $18 elsewhere. Despite these shortcomings, I would still try it again if I was in the area. Next time I'm concentrating on baked goods! read more

Fresh, tasty expensive sandwiches and cookies, coffees, wifi, have been here many times over the last few years. They also have their own fresh gelato now. Only criticism: typically LONG waits for service during most of the day (not uncommonly 20-30 minutes on weekends just to get a sandwich when there's a line of only 5-6 people) and usually no one is manning the gelato bar either, so you have to stand in the same line even if you just want a cone. Orders are not necessarily processed in order of receipt, either (e.g., people who come in later than you not uncommonly get their sandwich foods earlier, unclear why). The place is always packed because no one else in the area offers a comparable food product (there is very little viable competition), so people just put up with the lines and smile. If you're not extra hungry or in a hurry, and don't have physical problems lining up, it's worth the wait. read more

This is a terrific place to stop and grab a coffee and pastry, with spectacular ocean views. They made us excellent lattes, and the scones are amazing! I ordered the 2+2+2.....2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and 2 slices of toast. I did indeed get a piece of toast cut down the middle...and thus I had two pieces. See pix. I thought it was more funny than anything else. In a jovial mood, it presented the picture to the manager first saying that I had enjoyed my breakfast, but about the 2 slices... She didn't even smile but asked if I wanted another slice of toast. She said the used to serve 2 slices but found guests did not consume it all. No thanks, I said, I'm done with breakfast. Do you want you want your money back? Noooo...the breakfast was really good. So what do you think I really did want? Simple. Change it to a 2+2+1 or deliver what's promised. read more

I had been here several years ago and loved it. This time very disappointed. I had pancakes. Was charged $10+ for literally two pancakes on a plate. BTW it was less on the menu. They were... pancakes. Nothing good or bad. Husband had pancakes eggs and bacon again nothing special. $27 for this mediocre fare plus two coffees was excessive. My husband and I had dinner at Trinks on Friday and it was excellent. I had salmon and he had a burger and we shared a nice bottle of cabernet. The food was fresh and tasty, the wine was delicious (and only $20 for the bottle), and the service was perfect. Staying in Sea Ranch for the week and wondering where to eat. Time and again, the shopkeepers in Gualala mentioned Trinks. Headed there Wednesday night for their "taco" night. Very yummy. Choice of four different tacos, along with rice and beans for $16. Tried the shrimp taco, pork taco and lamb taco with strawberry salsa. They were all delicious. Trinks is run by a couple; he's the chef and she's front of house/waitress. Currently Trinks offers a fixed price dinner menu on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I would highly recommend. On 9/26/2016 Chef Ross at Trinks & his wonderful staff created the most delicious rehearsal dinner for our daughter's wedding! They set a beautiful long table for 24 people & served us an amazing Peruvian family style dinner along with incredibly delicious appetizers & desserts. We had called & they told us we could eat there on Friday. When we arrived, we found out the cafe was closed for a private party -- the new staff had been misinformed. So the chef overheard and made ressies (normally don't) for Saturday. They were so pleasant and even helped us with snorkeling and grocery store suggestions. The food and atmosphere was very good. To our surprise, they comped us a dessert -- for our troubles! We (family of four) had a nice, relaxing, enjoyable dinner and highly recommend Trinks. read more

We went to Breakfast once at Trinks during a 4 day getaway. It is in the corner of like a strip mall. If was close to our Sea Cliff room. We were looking forward to having dinner on one of their limited dinner nights. However, We stood in a long line at the counter. My handicap BoyF had to go sit down at a table. You are given your coffee on a tray to go get your cream or sugar in the corner counter. I ended up spilling the coffees trying to get to the Table. Our 2 egg, 2 bacon, breakfast came with only 1 little toast. It was good and cooked as ordered, yet basic and no frill on the plate. Coffee was good, separate, and no refills. It was pricy overall since it was not a relax and be served experience. We were disappointed and did not go to their dinner of small plate Tapa etc limited menu offered for the couple nights as it is overpriced and not sure if there would be table service. The desserts looked great at the counter. We tried a couple sweets like Brownies from Trinks that we picked up at the Surf Market. They were just ok, kind of dry and bland. I think the Cakes look like a better choice. They looked yummy! And, I think this is probably the best option right in town for good Coffee. read more
