They're known for their cider bombs. Yup, sake bombs with cider instead of Japanese beer. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I think it's great that they are giving the option for people who don't like the taste of beer. Came through with a few friends, and yes...before we get started, parking here in Deep Ellum in general sucks. So do yourself a favor and park a few streets away and zip over via scooter. Lyfting over is just going to be a hassle, and we all know that. So the space itself that Trinity has is great. Their outside seating is especially wonderful because it's great for those with dogs, and they share this space with the next door restaurants. The indoors space is quite limited, so large groups will have to squeeze a little. The cider-tenders at the bar are all very sociable and engaging ladies, and they are part of the reason why people here have a good time. They are awesome so 5 stars to y'all. Just beware for those who want to actually come and have a conversation--it might be wise to sit outside because the noise levels can definitely rise. In terms of the cider, I wasn't too into it because they were all on the fruity sweeter side. I was stoked to get a flight because that's the whole point of trying everything! Everything else I liked about the place though, from the price point to the decor and setup of the tap. However, I found the Cardi Blue (blue cider pictured here) was way too berry-flavored to the point like it was almost like cough medicine and the Pumpkin spice one literally was like drinking a candle. I'm all for seasonal crazy flavors, but I don't think those were done with any subtle messages in mind. The honey cider was actually quite good though, and probably our favorite one. I guess I'm biased because I love drier ciders, which wasn't really the case here at Trinity. Austin's cidery game is so strong (sorry Dallas!) and I've probably been spoiled by it. I was recently in Dallas to visit a friend and we decided to go to the Deep Ellum area. We took the streetcar from Bishop Arts and it was about a mile walk to the area. Trinity Cider is located along the main strip of restaurants and bars and easily accessible during the day (which I think was a new thing). Since I'm pretty indecisive, we decided to go with a flight. You can pick a 4 or 6 cider flight. We tried the Dry, Honey Pecan, Pumpkin, Smoked Peach, Naughty Grandma, and Cideboob. I loved that I was able to basically try the entire menu. My personal favorite was the Naughty Grandma. It tasted like cinnamon apple sauce but not overly sweet. My friend really enjoyed the Cideboob (watermelon). It reminded me of a jolly rancher, perfectly sweet and tart. We also tried the rotating cider at the time, which I believe was cranberry. It was really good. Trinity Cider is definitely a place for those who love to drink but don't care for beer. The bartender was nice and the holiday decorations were a nice touch. I could see the inside getting very crowded and loud during the weekend, but there is an outside area if you prefer a quieter experience. I also believe they do pop-up with other local restaurants as well as trivia. If you're in the Deep Ellum area, be sure to stop by (even if it's just for a cider bomb). read more

I was so excited for this opening that i accidentally dragged my friends out a week before they opened -- oops! But then i came for realsies during their grand opening and now imma come back everytime I'm in deep ellum :') Boyfriend and i went a little ham and basically ordered one of everything LOL. Full sizes of deep ellum dry and grow a pear. These ended up being our two favorites! Bartenders are great at recommending which ones we'd enjoy based on small info we'd give them. And because we were curious, we got the flight of four, which you can pick and choose (excludes unholy ghost). The frozen drinks were tasty, frose being our third favorite overall! I was very hesitant to get the cucumber habanero cider, cause of my hate of spicy drinks but it's great! Even better with the cucumber garnish. Lastly, our friend ordered an unholy ghost for us. They only serve this cider in the small flight glass and trust, its enough. It has a great taste and a heckuva kick once it settles. Glad i was able to try! We were walking around Deep Ellum waiting for our dinner reservation, when we stumbled on Trinity Cider. I looove cider so I was super excited by the idea of cider flights. Amongst all the other big roudy bars, this place is a really adorable classy place. The bartender was immediately so friendly and cool, and we ordered a flight with him. it was $10 for 4, set options. He was nice enough to replace the cucumber habanero cider with a frose since that one didn't sound good to me. We got the regular dry cider, rose cider, cactus cider, and frose. He instructed us to drink it in that order as that's least sweet to most sweet. They were all good and tasted like they sound but my favorite was probably the cactus! This place seriously has some of the best cider beer I've ever tasted! Not too sweet, not too beer-esque, just perfect. It's right by Pecan Lodge, so it's a great spot to grab a drink while waiting to get in for dinner. The patio is nice and shaded, and the atmosphere inside is great. I absolutely love every single cider I have tried here. You cannot go wrong! The Hefeweizen style cider is light and refreshing and the Balls deep (balsamic cider) is complex and flavorful. The service is always so friendly, even when they are slammed! The place can get a little packed but it is worth every second you have to wait or squish! The ghost pepper cider is NOT fooling around so only try it if you are A) a masochist or B) have some outrageously strong taste buds. SAKE BOMBS WITH CIDER = RECIPE FOR A FUN SATURDAY There is not pretentiousness in sight at this place.
