Small shop, masks worn inside. I brought a long bridesmaid dress from David's Bridal to her for hemming, and she did a wonderful job getting it the perfect length and adding padding to the bust so the dress filled out without looking unnatural to my body shape. She was pleasant and quick. She said her price was comparable and/or better than other shops (it was $140 because of the stretchy chiffon layers) but I didn't price shop myself (can be such a waste of time driving around and retrying dresses with a bunch of seamstresses). My one and only complaint is CASH OR CHECK ONLY. I understand the inconveniences a credit card company has on a small business but it's a big inconvenience to customers. Regardless, if I have more dresses to alter I'll be coming here because the end product is great. read more

I received my wedding dress in the mail three weeks before my wedding. The store I bought it from closed and I had no one to fix it; I was desperate! The top didn't fit at all but Trinh was able to fix it in time for the big day! She had to take in both sides, add cups, fix the straps and hem the bottom. She also was able to fix the boning up top so the dress laid correctly on me. When I first got my dress I was in tears because it fit so horribly but once Trinh was done it was perfect. I feel like a jerk not giving the same sterling review everyone else does, but the work we had done wasn't up to standard, perhaps because it wasn't an alteration but a precision issue. I do appreciate that the mistake in the uniform got fixed so readily, but sewing the sleeve of something together when adding patches is sloppy, and not checking your work before giving a garment back to a customer is baffling. I'll go back if I have a dress that needs adjusting, maybe, but I'll do uniform adjustments on my own from now on. read more

After my regular go to tailor was booked until the end of the year, I look desperately to find a tailor to take care of a suit alteration I needed for a birthday event in December. I decided to look on Yelp and found Trinh's Alterations on a list. Seeing that I share the name with the business I decided to go check it out myself. I walked in on a Saturday early in the morning and I was automatically greeted by Trinh. Such as lovely, warm, and welcoming lady. She asked around and we both bonded on our shared ethnicity. I presented her with what I needed and the deadline I needed it by. She stated no problem. She even was willing to allow me to pay for the suit alteration after she completed it but I decided to honor her policy and immediately came back with the cash needed before she began the alteration. Fast forward two weeks and Trinh had the suit jacket ready. I put it on and it was like magic. She displayed a mirror and explained to me some of the alterations she made to help resize the jacket. I was incredibly impressed and thanked her for the hard work. I cannot recommend Trinh enough to help with your tailoring and alteration needs. Trinh is awesome! She's not only a great person but a great seamstress. If you're cutting it close to closing time because of work, call ahead and she'll wait a couple extra minutes for you. She seems like a genuine person who will tell you how something can be altered to fit you best. There's been two times where I was getting things altered and two different customers stopped by just to say hi! They weren't even coming to pick anything up. I think that says a lot about what kind of a person she is :). She's altered silk, cotton, tweed, stretchy cotton blend, leather, and denim for me. I've never had a problem with any of her alternations. Not all of them were easy either. A lot of them required her to open the shoulders to lift/shorten the torso which meant removing and reattaching the sleeves. A couple had to be slimmed in the bust. Bust alternations can easily go wrong and all of her alternations fit perfectly. All in all she's great at what she does and she's an honest person when she's not sure she can do the alternation she'll make another suggestion so you won't come out with a ruined item. read more

I found Trinh with the help of you Yelpers, so I thought I would help the next person searching for one of the best in men's alterations. As soon as you walk in the door, you can tell that Trinh takes pride in her service and the quality of her work. After talking for a few minutes, she showed me some of her finished work, and pointed out what she felt was important in tailoring men's clothing. Trinh altered two suits and three pairs of pants for me. The alterations were expertly done, the stitching was fabulous, and little details like tapering jacket sleeves and cuffs after shortening them were done to perfection (and without asking). The only downside to the entire experience was that this sweet lady is ill and will have to shut down her shop for a few months. Glad to finally find my alterations spot. Bounced around from the wash & tailor spot on Shepherd St. near monument to Vincents on Libbie x Grove. Neither had skills like Trinhs has. My style : late 20s w/ street/tailored fashion. Mostly premium selvage denim worn skinny & slim fitting tops/jackets. If you're going for that style just be prepared to communicate that assertively when she's marking your jeans & they will come out perfect! I was in desperate need of somewhere to do the alterations on a bridesmaid dress I bought over a year ago for a wedding postponed due to covid. I needed the dress to be taken out a few inches which I knew was a lofty request, but Trinh went above and beyond. She was able to take the dress out enough to fit plus a little bit extra for comfort AND you would never be able to tell looking at the dress that it was taken out so much. She also hemmed it for me. I will say I did not shop around because I didn't want to waste time comparing prices so I don't know how prices compare. This did seem a little expensive but for the quality of work I was happy to pay it. Fair warning she takes only cash or check due at the time you drop it off. I had a little over a month to get the alterations completed before the wedding and this seemed like a good amount of time to allow Trinh to get everything done with less stress/pressure for everyone. I had to buy a suit for an important wedding I was attending but time got away from me and I picked it up one week to the day before I had to leave town, and the store's alteration service was backed up two weeks. I am so grateful I found Trinh thanks to Yelp! My son needed sleeves in a blazer shortened and we only had two days. I took him in, figuring that it was pretty hopeless to get it done that quickly.
