BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS!! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I went to this place to get my passport photo printed. I didn't realize that the photos were cut unevenly and didnt match the dimensions until I got home. I went the next day to show them and the guy who works there(NOT wearing a mask btw) prints out a new one and cuts it uneven again! I showed him how uneven it is and he just yells at me "It's not!!!I've been doing this for 40 years! They will accept it!" Guy can't even own up that he did a shitty job! Very UNPROFESSIONAL! For $35 for 4pcs of passport photo, yes I want it cut evenly!! DONT GO HERE!! read more

Like others I came here for passport photos. They know their dimensions and all the requirements for non-US passports, but talk about jacked up pricing based on the sole reason that you're getting a non-US passport photo or baby passport photos. It's essentially the same process, printed to the same paper just trimmed to a different size. I suppose they have to pay for rent somehow seeing as print photography is probably much rarer these days with everything being digital and all the online print services. Giving a glance over the reviews, I think that's exactly it. Most of the traffic to this place is for passport photos. They get the job done. read more

I went to Trilogy as there were good reviews. I thought that the bad review left by Chelsea A, was maybe a competitor or an angry person. I do confirm that the staff is rude and very unwelcoming. The place is not very clean and seems quite run down. Given the service, we decided to leave after a few minutes in there. I do not recommend going there. read more

But basically, this guy charges a five dollar "deposit" for every roll of film he develops, but then claims that the picture disc is free? Baloney. He's incompetent and unwilling to admit to mistakes. He talks down to his customers, and the inside of his store is reminiscent of the Unibomber's shack. I have been going here for over 10 years and have always had a pleasant experience. From help with Passport photos, to printing business signs, to developing film- I was able to get all of these done here in a quick and efficient manner! Honestly, I wouldn't know where else to go. Mark knows his trade and has been a business owner for many years. This is a great spot in Tribeca for all kinds of things. Framing, digital, you name it. The very nice owner ripped an old video from a CD and then converted it to a file I could upload to YouTube. He did it in a few hours and at minimum cost. Really beat my expectations. read more

Fantastic passport photos! I walked in at lunch and was promptly greeted by the owner. I voiced my dismay with quick, shoddy drugstore passport pictures and he assured me that he would do better. He had professional studio lighting, a better camera rig than the drugstore and would happily take multiple shots to obtain a good pic, as many as were needed. He posed and adjusted my head, then tidied my bangs (which hang over my eyes) so that my photo wouldn't be rejected on account of my face being obstructed. He even handed me a mirror so that I could see how I looked before snapping the photos. I took a bunch of shots and selected a lovely one. He was very patient. My photo was developed, printed and trimmed to exact passport standards in 10 minutes. $16 for excellent service and a photo that I'm not embarrassed to whip out at customs. read more

I've tried to support this business because I try to give my dollars to local, small businesses. From now on, I will be ordering my prints online or supporting another, less convenient establishment. I've given Trilogy the benefit of the doubt one too many times and he has proven that he is not only horribly rude, but incompetent to boot. The first time I was here, I had some cheap disposable cameras from my wedding. Him: Where did you get these? Me: Ebay. Him: How much were they? Me: I don't know. Him: Well that's strange. Usually when you buy something, you know how much it costs. Me: Well you know, they were for a wedding. I bought a lot of stuff and I don't remember how much each thing cost. Then he lectured me on how they weren't good quality, started a speech about ISOs and such and finally I cut him off. I told him they were just for fun, that I'm a professional photographer, and that I know all of these things and that I simply want the film developed. (The pictures were just fine, by the way.) Last night, I took an SD card with two TIFF images that were professionally re-sized and triple checked, before my very eyes, on Photoshop. They are 11 x 17. The woman (his wife, I presume) put the card in the computer. Then she left. He took my money, and then told me that the files are 11 x 14 1/2. What? I said that it really concerned me and he suggested that it would be good for him to call, if they were not in fact 11 x 17, so I could let them know whether or not to print them. Since the woman left, he could not check. Apparently he does not know how. He asked if I needed frames THREE TIMES. I understand the up-sell, but once is sufficient. He did manage to call. (But he is always SO nasty, dealing with him is awful.) Now he claims that the files are "precisely 11x 15". Then he tried to start an argument with me. Ok, buddy. Now I'll be late for my after work plans so I can go obtain a refund and I'm stressed on getting these prints made since I spent two days dealing with a jerk who can't manage to do his job. UPDATE: I was able to get the prints made at another local photo lab for a third of the price. When I had gone back to get my refund, the guy was sweet as pie and had printed my photos smaller "because I'm a regular customer". He did a lot of mumbling about how, in order to print the size I wanted, he was going to have to crop this or that and tried to explain how I re-sized the photos "incorrectly". Interestingly enough, upon checking those files in Photoshop once again, they were absolutely no doubt 11 x 17 AND there was no issue getting them printed as such at another establishment. Why, you may ask? Well, because they were the correct size all along. And yes, as the other reviews discuss, he does offer a "free" CD disc, but requires a $5 "deposit on each roll of film. The 11 x 17 prints I will not be paying for were overpriced too. Sad to say, I could have had them printed online for half the price. I shouldn't have bothered returning after my first miserable experience, but I mistakenly gave him a second chance because I've done customer service and I know it can be draining. Now, it is clear that he is just not a professional nor does he have the ability to act it. I mean really, printing an 11 x 17 is not that hard if you're a "photo lab". The store is cluttered, dirty looking, and long overdue for a makeover. The window displays look like they were done in the 70s and so do the creepy prints they have up as samples. Paint on the shelves in chipping, badly. The prices on merchandise are all handwritten and the selection is so-so. Batteries are less expensive than in drug stores and there are some decent frames, but the attitude is not worth the money you'll be saving. Maybe it's an issue with the block? I've noticed several businesses, such as the beauty store and the now out-of-business nail salon, are similarly challenged in the customer service department. read more

Mark has helped me to better understand how to use my camera, gives me advice on what film to purchase and helped me pick a fantastic flash attachment for my Canon AE-1. I have never been in an out of a place that quick when I go to take my passport pics! I was out in 20 mins. The picture came out good.

So I hadn't picked up my passport photos in almost 4 months and I thought they were gone (Totally my fault for not picking them up). I needed them for work. Instead, when I walked in, the owners were very cordial. They could've easily brushed me off, but instead, they were SOOO nice. They sat with me for like an hour to look for my long lost photos. Finally, they found my passport photos and they didn't charge me anything extra for letting them sit for that long. I will definitely come back to this place.
