One thing people underestimate New York on (among many) is the tight knit nature of their…read moreneighborhoods. Casa boasts miles of stacks of exotic and imported magazines, as well as fan favorites. Tons of travel mags, science mags, LGBTQ mags. Science fiction, architecture, design/vintage/antiques. Magazines from other countries and other continents. Other languages. Tons of gorgeous photos and brilliant colors. Magazines that aren't just for the recycling bin . . . magazines that you keep around for the beauty, or for your coffee table, or to keep in your guest room to wow your guests. Things I had never heard of before, yet couldn't wait to read. Would also be a great place to find Is Casa expensive? By the everyday standard, yes. Do they carry exotic and imported magazines that you might not find elsewhere? Yes. Do they have that neighborhood vibe, where you feel like the owners are going to invest in you and get to know you? Where, if you have a special request, they will try to accommodate? Yes. Another thing people don't realize about New York is how capitalism and investment firms are ruining small businesses, attempting to wipe all of the character and grittiness from Manhattan. Casa Magazines is a well-known village magazine Mecca, most recently sold by its owner of 30 years, thankfully to what appears to be local people. I am glad they are helping keep that local flavor. I automatically felt at home upon entering Casa Magazines. The owners made sure to help me throughout my shopping spree. In fact, I got so carried away and spent so much money that they asked that I take a free pack of gum of my choice upon checkout haha. They also interacted with other patrons as if they were old friends. They knew what magazines each person was looking for and could tell them if any new volumes had arrived. I had been meaning to get to Casa for a long while, partially because I was interested and partially because in New York, you shouldn't procrastinate doing or seeing something that matters to you . . . you never know when it will suddenly be gone. I am glad I made it out here. I will gladly spend my money to keep this business alive and hopefully thriving and will definitely be back.

Ran in here because my husband and I had a long wait for La Bonbonniere and we were quite hungry. A…read morecute magazine shop with an unsuspecting, secret-feeling cafe in the back. I grabbed a small drip coffee and a small, handheld burrito. Delicious!

AP produces news reports that are distributed to its members, U.S. newspapers and broadcasters. Since the award was established in 1917, the AP has earned 56 Pulitzer Prizes, including 34 for photography. Naturally I'm a fan of the photography. With the extensive history of the Associated Press there's definitely been controversy. You can read more online. You may not realize how many times the Associated Press has touched your life. I'm sure I would have a lot to learn from the famous AP Stylebook. Sorry to say I haven't read it! There's plenty to read on their website. I'm recommending.....

I have been an email subscriber for news reports since 2010. I like good reads of world current…read moreevents. I always admire The Associated Press (AP), an American not-for-profit news agency for its extensive long history founded in 1846 and numerous Pulitzer Prizes won for outstanding journalism achievement and breaking news photography. The AP keeps me well informed, well read and acutely aware of world news and events. There is no fee to access their news articles from the email links. I highly admire the "This Week in Pictures" emails which "highlights some of the most compelling images of North America, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America, Europe, Africa." Four stars for The Associated Press (AP) because the emails are plastered with too many annoying ads.

I have to admit I read this publication as well. What is there not to love it gives free movie…read morepasses (seriously guys its insane, free shit -YES), free advice on best bars in brooklyn to go to, Sexy photos on the back page from American Apparel ads (some weeks it is very tame like the one from Christmas or Jan.5th to 18th, but other times it just sells sex) One time I saw a chick just bent over a railing not even sure what she was wearing but I was like damn, this American Apparel people are not playing sometimes, that girl looks like she is ready to go, I see no mention of jeans or apparel what so ever, I just see butt bent over a railing. It is cool to have a free paper that will entertain you for more than 5 minutes. It just keeps you in the know of what is going on. Ads in there also for places like Barcade, tell of upcoming events East/West beer ngiht and so on. I was actually revising and looking over that very issue again earlier today. (Jan5-18, cover had a story of 48 hours with a certain rock star). That title in itself makes it blog worthy and worth an actual look at the article which was very interesting. One guy actually talked about his waking up in the morning routines of eating cinnabons then alot of other healthy crap like squash, broccoli, beats, and kale but then use of some kinds of drugs. Ironic in that he seemed like a health nut with the food he actually consumed but used drugs and abused alcohol left and right. The bar and restaurant directory in the back makes alot of Brooklyn bars seem very appealing. I have also seen a few spots in there of places us yelp eliters got to sample at one point or another like Nita Nita and Woodwork. Thanks for the Reco's guys. Oh yeah then there is a sex with the natural redhead section on the back page, it is usually very funny stuff that explicitly involves penetration and sexual operations. Some more inappropriate than others. Overall- Yes, thank god it is free, I check out your magazine and now I need to look for the latest issue.

Because there's a lesson in be learned here. If you are passionate about the business you created then you will find a way. Obviously Scott and Daniel Stedman had enough. I won't be reading old issues. The not recommending.
