Kinkaku-ji Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan

This is one of the few true pro-level film labs left in the city, and they've consistently delivered great results with both my C-41 and E-6 rolls. The owners are wonderful to work with, and they've even turned around rush jobs when I needed them. Absolutely worth recommending. They also handle specialty scans, including wide 35mm panoramas from cameras like the Hasselblad XPan.

Wishing this family-owned lab a Happy 25th Anniversary!! I've been coming to get my photos developed at Bleeker Digital solutions for 6 years now, ever since Covid, when they were one of the only places open! I continue to make the commute from Queens into the city just to get my photos developed by them. They are simply the best! The owners are always so kind and helpful! The quality of the photos, affordability and quickness in which they are able to get them back to me is also a major factor on why I will keep coming back for years to come! If you're looking for somewhere to get your disposable cameras developed, I highly recommend this place!

Florence film!

The best place in nyc to get my film developed!!!! Always the kindest service, and such affordable options. I usually just do digital scans for $20 :) love this place + have been coming back for the past two years!!

Do NOT go here for a passport picture. Photographer is extremely, extremely rude. Such a shame because they develop good film.

So when it was…read moretime to renew my passport I decided to go to the famous Eliz Digital to get the best possible photo of myself. I discovered them in a Gothamist article where people praised at how professional looking the photos were. I figured that this would be my best shot at not looking at a photo that I hate for the next 10 years. If you're remotely photogenic then your photo will probably look like a professional head shot. If you're like me you will accept that your eyes look like Cash Patel's because you can't see without your glasses. The photographer took a couple of photos to choose from. I deferred to her judgement about which one was best. Paid cash since it's cash only. I opted for the digital photo since I was renewing my passport online. My photo was emailed the next day. I'm a very satisfied customer even though I have crazy eyes.

However, Eliz Digital was friendly, well-priced, and quick! I cannot state enough how clearly my 35mm photos came out -- no grain or mistakes to be found (a problem I've had with other labs). Also, in addition to printing, they also scan the photos and email them to you! Note they are cash only. I will be back to develop more film, and to get my passport photo taken here! After seeing some people's passport photos (and seeing these same people in the flesh), I can confirm -- this place has figured out the right lighting, posing etc to create STUNNING passport photos.

It feels a bit like a cousin of B&H with a slightly different personality and focus, but the same strong sense of expertise and professionalism. The store is large but not overwhelming, well-organized, and clearly oriented toward photography and content creation, though it also has dedicated sections for musical instruments and scuba gear that make the place feel unique. The scuba area is a little unexpected at first, but I suppose people who love gadgets and gear often overlap with that world as well. I honestly haven't purchased much here over the years aside from a few items, though I definitely bought a PlayStation controller here during COVID. A lot of the appeal for me was simply walking around, learning about new products, and talking with staff who actually know what they're discussing. You really get the sense that the employees are enthusiasts and specialists, not just salespeople. Their pricing also feels very competitive, with an emphasis on staying current and cutting-edge while still maintaining a "money well spent" mentality around sales and service. The atmosphere is calm and professional, and while the store is smaller than B&H or Abt, it's still an excellent size. If you're downtown or near Union Square, it's also much more convenient than heading all the way to the Penn Station area. Highly recommend for anyone into electronics, photography, audio gear, or just technology in general.
