I took a chance and sent film to this lab hearing good things and what they show on their instagram. I sent an order of 25 rolls and I regret this whole heartedly. I spent almost 1000 dollars here. I received the scans back with wildly different results for the same scene exposed properly. The white balance was all over the place for pictures shot seconds apart in the same spot. I thought maybe they set their scanner to auto. However their chemical was depleted and had cross processed looking images and purple hues. They don't know what a silhouette shot is and made images completely uneditable by brightening the image beyond its limit. All my medium format shots had light leaks through them on 2 different cameras that have been fully CLAd. They continued to tell me that they have a light leaks when I brought it up. I played devils advocate and I sent 2 rolls back to my local lab the next week and came back with no leaks whatsoever. They offered to rescan single rolls but not fix anything else. I'll never come back to this lab nor would I recommend it in any professional capacity. This is strictly an amateur lab. I've seen good things come from here but looks like it was just a fluke. I tried getting new scans locally but the development of the film is the real problem. Depleted chemical is as bad as it gets. read more

This is one of the few true pro-level film labs left in the city, and they've consistently delivered great results with both my C-41 and E-6 rolls. The owners are wonderful to work with, and they've even turned around rush jobs when I needed them. Absolutely worth recommending. Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. I found Anil Kumar, the owner, to be unprofessional and dismissive from the start. His tone was demanding, and I felt spoken down to rather than treated respectfully as a customer. After doing some research, I learned he has owned this business for 38 years, which made the lack of professionalism even more surprising. The pricing also raised concerns. The costs were very high, and the math did not seem to add up. It felt as though some customers are being overcharged. I also noticed inconsistent service--one individual regularly drops off large amounts of film and receives it almost immediately, while others wait an excessive amount of time, even when their orders appear to be ready. That said, the staff members working here are clearly hardworking, and the cashier was kind and respectful. I appreciate the effort of the employees and do not fault them. While this place benefits from its tourist location and social media attention, my personal experience did not reflect the hype. With improved professionalism, fair pricing, and more consistent turnaround times, this business could be much better. As it stands, I would rate it 2/5. read more

I had a great first experience with Bleeker! I've been using disposable cameras over the past few months and needed to get them developed. After reading reviews, it seemed like coming here would be faster and yield better results than dropping my cameras at a CVS or Walgreens. The reviews were right! I dropped my cameras off on Monday and got my photos emailed to me by Wednesday afternoon, just as they promised! You can also pay extra for the film and print copies, which I decided to do. The development quality speaks for itself! You can tell they do a great job, I'm glad I didn't chance it by going to a CVS or Walgreens. One note - the store is tiny and has two registers. Because of this, two customers are allowed in the store at a time. Both times I visited this week there were short lines, so just be prepared for the possibility of that! read more

Picked up my developed film and upon reviewing at home I noticed that they missed a scan so I brought back the negatives showing which one exactly was missed. They claimed they need the envelope because it had pertinent information on it. Instead of apologizing and trying to rectify the situation immediately they made it difficult for me and said to pick it up again the next day. It would've appreciated if they fixed it right then and there versus making me come back the next day. Waste of my time. read more

I have been going to Bleeker Digital Solutions since it was on Bleeker Street in the 90s. As a kid, I would go get my passport pictures done there then get free wonton strips from the Chinese spot next door while I waited for the pictures to develop. I started getting into photography of my own at around 9 years old, and I've developed and printed around 110 rolls with them through the years (I'm currently archiving my pictures, which is why I know that number). I am endlessly grateful that Bleeker Digital has been my go-to for the bulk of my photographic needs. During university, I searched for a photo shop to temporarily replace Bleeker Digital, and shop after shop delivered subpar service (the only shop w similar quality charged nearly $50 to print and develop a roll). I am not sure if there is a dearth of quality photo services in the entire city of Montreal, or if I had just gotten used to the high standards of Bleeker Digital - instinct tells me it might be the latter. Now that I am dusting off boxes and boxes of photographs and negatives, I just want to say THANK YOU to Bleeker Digital for taking care of my work when I didn't even realize I needed to. All of my negatives are in pristine condition. My specifications of single print, matte, 5x7 have never once been misunderstood. My negative sheets from days where I forayed into developing on my own are beautiful. Also, Neil and his wife are so sweet! I don't know the guys name who started working w them around 2010-ish, but he is great too (and he has amazing handwriting, haha). You guys are the best!! THANK YOU!! Btw - they typically do not print photos that are super, super dark, or the half-photos that sometimes happen at the beginning of a roll.
