They have crab ragoons on the menu which I thought was strange, they were crispy. It's presented to the table in a steam bag, it's fun. The-meals are on the expensive side, but if you split it it's comparable to two meals. They serve fish sandwiches, chicken wings, and sides too. Plastic forks are provided, buts it's difficult to eat crab legs without the proper utensils. The shells are pre cracked, but a fish fork would be better and I know they make wooden ones. they could have provided. The entire space feels thoughtful, comfortable, and elevated. The service was equally impressive. The host was exceptional, and our servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and the guest experience. The menu is focused, approachable, and very fairly priced for the quality being served. Every dish felt intentional. The Fried Green Tomatoes were outstanding, with a fantastic glaze, beautifully prepared collards, and incredibly creamy, smoky Gouda grits. The She Crab Soup was packed with flavor and instantly transported me back to Charleston with its wonderful sherry notes. The Southern Salmon was cooked perfectly, with chow chow providing the ideal balance of acidity and haricots verts that brought a beautiful grilled flavor to the plate. The Short Ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender with a wonderful smoky depth, accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes and some of the best collards we had all evening. And then there was the Derby Pie. Simply put, we would come back just for dessert. It was phenomenal. The pairing with ice cream was perfect, and this dessert may very well become the restaurant's signature item. For a soft opening, Millie's on Main delivered an experience that many established restaurants strive to achieve.
