Trident grill is a mix of sports bar and restaurant. I decided to check it out after a recommendation from a coworker. I stopped by on a Sunday just after their weekly brunch and it was relatively busy but not insanely so. I was seated quickly and greeted by my server right away. I'm not much of a seafood person, which seems to be their specialty (which makes sense with the name trident) but they had plenty of non seafood options. I decided on the Nashville hot chicken sliders and since you only get two sliders and no sides with that order (and I was hungry) I also got the cheeseburger sliders. The hot chicken sliders were sooooo good! Peppery and spicy they were hot enough to make me sweat while eating them but not so hot they were unpleasant. They also tasted great. A lot of times flavor gets sacrificed for spice with spicy dishes but that wasn't the case here. The cheeseburger sliders were ok too. I probably would just opt for a regular burger if I was to only order them but nothing about them was bad. Trident gets a solid 4 stars and likely a return visit for the delicious hot chicken sliders. You should try it too. read more

We like the food and the beer selection however overall the service is so slow that it ruins the overall dining experience and is frankly frustrating. We have been here a number of times, each time thinking it would improve however it's terrible each time. If there service was better we would really enjoy this place however we usually leave frustrated because the service is so terrible. read more

we ordered nachos, by the time we got to the guacamole it didn't taste right. the guacamole was dark brown and was actually spoiled. we notified the waitress she said she would talk to someone about it. we received our bill and asked our waitress if she talked to anyone about it and she said no. She took the bill and left our table. She came back and said the manager took 35% off the nachos and told us that earlier someone else had complained about the guacamole. i don't understand how/why they would continue to serve the guacamole that they knew was bad! Honestly there are many things that the patrons in Tucson like about the Trident group or restaurants, primarily one can count on the food being consistent and good. The detractors would be the propensity to hire under qualified staff. And please understand, this is not just an indictment of the service staff, I would maintain that the management at best can be held responsible for the experience of the diners. I had a party of three tonight and our server was extremely inattentive. The table next to us had a different server and was similarly ignored. Drinks should never be dry at a restaurant and even if I've just taken a bite of food, I like when I'm checked upon. I hadn't visited this location until last Sunday. My son, friend and I had a late lunch. There is plenty of parking. We were seated right away. It's a sports bar so the decorations are sports memorabilia and many televisions. I'm sure it's a great place to watch a sporting event. The waitress was very friendly. She checked on us regularly, making sure our glasses were full and we had everything we needed. I had the steak sandwich and my son ordered a cheeseburger. I was able to save much of the sandwich and some fries for leftovers. The sandwich was delicious! It had steak, onions and mushrooms with blue cheese and horseradish sauce. The food was good... the service not so much. We had to ask for straws, napkins, silverware and drink refills. The waitress spent quite a bit of time socializing with her co-workers. It wasn't busy for lunch hour as there were about 6 or 7 empty tables. The service at the other locations is far superior-we probably will make the extra drive next time. read more

Went on a Sunday at 2pm. I called earlier to make a reservation for 8 when I got there, no reservations. Didn't matter there were plenty of tables available. They had to wipe a few down and push them together. The place was warm and not too clean. The tables around us were dirty and the floor was greasy. I ordered the gumbo for $7 and had to wait for it to be heated up. It was a small bowl with lots of black pepper, not very good. I took about 4 spoonfuls and had enough. Someone else ordered the Tomahawk pork chop $18. It was big but he said it was too salty and dry. My other companions ordered the shrimp Po boys which they said it was ok. We've eaten here 2x in the last several weeks. The 1st time I had the clam chowder and fried fish tacos. Delicious! Generous amount of seafood in the chowder, and the fish was crispy and tender. Stopped in after going to Winterhaven, party of 9. I had never been to the Trident Grill...SO glad we went that night. We were seated quickly, and I have to say from start to finish the service was spot on. Not an easy feat with 9 people. We ordered cocktails and grub... trying many different things from appetizers to a full meal. I tasted the mac & cheese, the baked pretzel, fish & chips and the BLT. All were delicious. Once you find the entrance the place is a top notch sports bar. The bar has a big open window to the outside patio. The place has more than enough TVs and places to sit. We were Astros fans visiting from out of town and needed a TV to watch the playoffs...no problem! We just had bar snacks but the fried pickles were very good. Staff pleasantly accommodating. I wanted to taste a local beer or two before buying a pint...no problem. It's not someplaxe we'd go for dinner. But we'd definitely go back to catch a game. read more

Very disappointed at first time back here this season. We've never liked corned beef but love Rueben's so we frequently substitute turkey, a "Rachel" it's called, at any place turkey is available. Now their "policy" is to up charge two dollars for any substitution. Given a Reuben here is already 14.75, the idea of 16.75 for same sandwich is ridiculous. Put a Rachel on your menu since you have ingredients but give a fair price. We won't order this again here. Never. Someone changed rules and I for one will not accept their new terms. read more

Can be hit or miss. Depends on location I believe with food. But overall solid sports bar with lots of food options and good drinks.

To be honest if you're going to have an event make sure you have an extra bar tender. Nothing gets more annoying than receiving your food before your drinks. To have to wait 30 minutes for a draft beer is a bit over the top. The bruschetta was soggy and the cheese sticks were left nothing to desire. The food came out within 3 minutes. Servers need to make sure the drinks come before the food. Especially when the food is subpar. read more

This isn't my favorite of all the Trident Grills (you just can't beat the original) but my recent pick up experience during the COVID19 shut down was so incredible, I had to give them 5 stars. I called in two orders of fish and chips to go. The phone call was quick, easy and super friendly. Upon arrival, I was met outside, and the gentlemen (plus other patrons getting their food) all thanked me for my service (I was in uniform on lunch break), and then Trident took it upon themselves to give me a first responder discount, informing me after they ran my card. Super nice, and unnecessary but appreciated. I gave an extra tip because the experience, even though cub side, felt a bit "Cheers" like, like home. You can always count on everyone at a Trident being folks who are all trying to just be good Americans. And of course the fish and chips is always top notch. Well done Trident. read more

We ordered our food and here we are about 30 minutes later still nothing. The waitress is very nice and really good but the food isn't here...wait we just got our appetizer...30 minutes after ordering. It's not very busy either and I'm not use to waiting here (see pic). Nelson seriously? The kitchen staff is slow. UPDATE - food came about 40 minutes or so. Tenders burnt (see pic), mac n cheese runny and my food was great (burger). Kinda disappointed for my first time back since returning back from deployment with my kids. I'll be back again cuz my kids love this place. Great tomahawk pork chop! Cod was best I've ever had over sautéed spinach, rice & curry. Flavortown for sure. Came back again for the chop (hubs) & tried crab stuffed mushrooms with a side salad. The food at this and other Trident locations continue to be stellar (some item exceptions apply). That being said, this location has been a serious hit and miss with service. If you sit at the bar inside or outside, you are far less likely to have any problems. Table service is a weakpoint, as after receiving our drinks (and clearing up a minor miscommunication i wont blame the business for) we waited 20-30 minutes before having to ask if someone could take our order. I asked for the Sauted Cod Filet and was asked if i wanted the Tacos or the Sandwich. Apparently the waitress wasn't aware there was a Dinner entree item bearing the name verbatim. The food me and my guest received were absolutely perfect. I wish i could rate this location higher but i may have to stick with the Craycroft location for its consistency in service. read more

We went here on Mother's Day as moms ate free. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. We had mac and cheese with bacon, chicken tenders, nachos with chicken and crab cakes. I am very picky about my crab cakes so was a bit hesitant but they were delicious! Just the right amount of seasonings and wonderful mustard sauce on the side. The mac was super cheesy which meant a huge hit with my son. The nachos are just amazing. The chips are crisp and the chicken is tender. My husband and son split the tenders and said they were tasty and loved the H3. I got the chicken tenders this time, which came with 6 gigantic tender fresh pieces for $6, and you can get them tossed in your sauce of choice or on the side. We usually go to the Craycroft location, and have always been pleased with the food and the service. This location is not up to par with that one. After we were seated, it took awhile for someone to come by with water, and then they only brought 3 for 4 people. We had to remind them later that we still needed one more glass of water. When she finally took our drink order, it took forever to get them delivered to our table. It was only two beers, so we're not sure what the long holdup was. Then we had to remind our server that we still needed our food order taken. She took our order and was accommodating with some requests we made. Then we continued to wait and wait for our food. We finally asked about it and she said it wouldn't be much longer. It would've been nice for her to give us updates instead of making us go to her to see what was going on. Then she brought out two of the meals. It took a few more minutes to get the remaining two. Overall the food tasted good. We had sandwiches, a burger, and a salad. The fries had just the slightest sprinkling of Old Bay seasoning. They would've been better with more. The onion rings weren't hot. Other than that, no complaints with the food. We paid with three gift cards that we had. Our server came back and put all three on the table, without indicating which one still had a balance. So, she had to go check them to find out which one we needed to keep for another time. All in all, I don't think we'll come back to this location. Our server was nice enough, but not very attentive. As with all the Trident's, it was quite noisy, so it was hard to carry on a conversation without yelling. Maybe the problem was not enough people working, but we haven't run into this at the Craycroft location. read more
