Lucas was patient and gave me a great haircut until I was just about to walk out of the building. I asked for long layers to be added to my hair without taking off any length. He did that. It looked great. I told him it looked perfect that my hair has never looked so good. It was exactly what I wanted. I wanted my super thick hair thinned and not choppy. He then says he's going to make it "perfect." Im really confused because I just told him it looked perfect but I trusted him to just do some last minute trimming. Well next thing I know half my hair is gone. I'm in shock I said I wish you hadn't done that; tried to look on the bright side and think of how it'll always grow back. I paid, ran out the door and have been crying ever since. I don't see any layers left. I have short bangs and half my hair chopped off. It feels thicker on the ends than when I started. It is literally a nightmare. I cannot put my hair up in a bun anymore without a hair tie because it's so bluntly cut on the ends. Wish I never went in, I'll have to wait a year for it to all grow out. In the meantime I have to spend extra time to get extensions put in. The reason I'm writing this is because had he stopped and just done what I had asked i would have been really enjoying this hair cut. I can't go back and fix it but I do hope Lucas reads this and starts actually listening to his customers so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I booked an appointment with Darrin. Prior to arrival time I had to confirm my appointment twice. Upon arrival, I was informed that Darrin no longer works at this salon. Common courtesy dictates that you do not book and confirm appointments for someone whom you do not employee. Another client in the salon said they had treated her the same way the week prior. Another stylist offered to fit me in his schedule. I had to wait an hour past my appointment time and then unfortunately got a haircut that did not workout for my hair. This stylist was very apologetic but did not have the required time to do anything but a rushed job. The front desk person came just short of calling me a liar about the appointment until I showed her my phone messages. The salon manager never apologized during our telephone conversations. She only wanted to make sure I would wait the hour to have a haircut. It did not take long for this lash place to ruin a nice hair salon. It is evident that hair is not a priority anymore. read more

First time in this new lash location. I made a 2pm same day appointment with Fracassi lashes for full set lashes. Fracassi lashes new location is located inside the Tricho salon, which is on the 2nd floor of the UTC mall. I get there on time. I am immediately approached by a nice lady who I believe was a hair tech assistant. She offered me water or wine as I waited in line for check in. I had my own bottled water, so I passed on both options. Nevertheless, I appreciated the gesture. I check in and was welcomed by Felicia. Hope I got the name right. She checked me in. I asked will I be seen right away and she said yes. I take a seat in the waiting area. Few mins later, Felicia comes by and informes me my lash tech Brandi says it'll be 10-15 mins before she can see me as her client was late, backing her up. She offered me water/wine and I passed. She then offered coffee. I accepted. She asked how would I like my coffee? For a moment, I thought I was at a coffee shop. She was extremely pleasant and accommodating. She takes pride in what she does and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone that walks through Tricho salon doors are taken care of. I was going to give 3.5 stars bc the wait was 35 mins. Unacceptable for someone that has an appointment but for the service to make up for it I settled on a fair and solid 4 stars. Brandi is a wonderful person with great talent. I was referred to Paulo Davis and am always very reluctant to try a new hairstylist because I have long fine bleach blonde hair. Paulo is absolutely one of the most talented hairstylist I have ever had the opportunity to do my hair. His color expertise and his haircutting style is incredible and he has a wonderful pleasant personality to go along with it. I initially wondered why he would be at a mall salon but after my experience it completely changed my views. I was able to grab Starbucks and do some shopping when I was done and the parking was incredibly convenient. The staff was all incredibly friendly offering me wine, coffee, tea, water and magazines. My natural hair is super frizzy and unmanageable. I got a keratin done at a complete different salon but had a bad experience, it didn't last longer than 3 days after getting it done, was still frizzy, my hair dried as if i never got anything done to it. So i did my research, took my chances and went to Tricho salon, Loxy did a Keratin to my hair, she was great and wasn't pushy at all. About 4 months later and my hair still dries straight, i just need to pass a straightener through it in certain areas. Definitely worth the money, i already told her i would be back to get it re-done when necessary. The salon was very clean, spaced out and comfortable. Keratin took about 3.5 hours but worth the time and money. I definitely recommend this place! Especially Loxy! read more

I have been going to Tricho for 3 years they have lost some top staff and they now have changed management. today I called for a hair wash and blow out with flat iron, my hair is long, the person who answered the phone asked me if I wanted to go now, I said no I'll go in an hour.I arrived there 5 minutes before my time, there was no one at the desk, and there was a hairdresser with a client and another one with another client. I waited 5 mins on the clock when a young lady came from the back and asked who I was and then took me to the back where a lady who barely speak English was to wash my hair....( it was fine she did a good job so I gave her a tip she looked perplexed), then I understood why because she proceeded to do my hair. I have thick hair even though she was good she used all the wrong combs and brushes for my hair, kept saying my hair is thick which it is. when I was done I gave her an extra tip and went to pay waited a few minutes till the same girl from front desk earlier came to ask me how my service was, then she told me that my wash and blow dry was $100.00 I almost fell off, I usually go there they charge me 60 plus 10.00 for flat iron...this woman told me the prices went up and my hair is long, y hair has always been long and thick, nothing changed, so she goes well I'll help you out and give u the service for 90.00 dollars, I said what help me out ? I don't need you to help me out I need you to check if the price is correct I have been coming here for 3 years? so she goes why are u rude ? I called to schedule an appointment and told her it's for a boy to the nasty receptionist. The appointment was made and I was there within 10 minutes. I got there and pointed to my 8 year old son's head.. She said she didn't hear me tell her it was for a boy and said "we don't cut kids hair under 10". The website clearly shows 10 and under. My check-in there was a little more than two weeks ago on April 5, my hairdresser was Tina, she was friendly and professional; understood why I wanted very fast. The front desk girl was super nice offering coffee, water etc. I just walked in the day before and she booked my appointment with Tina. I made an appointment several hours before my initial appointment. I received a call that went to voicemail because I was on my way 30 minutes before my appointment saying that the person who was suppose to do my hair was running behind and could I make an appointment at a later time. Since I was already at the mall, I decided I'd go check to see if someone was available. When I came in, there were employees laying on the furniture. They only had one person getting their hair done. I paid $70 to get my hair washed and trimmed. Never got a drink of water or anything. It is very clean and the products smell nice but my experience, the employee were unprofessional and it's way too expensive for what little they do. read more

BEWARE! No customer service! I left there with half the hair that I went in with! Sarah did some extra PH treatment on me without my consent and then brushed thru my hair with some metal comb and took out half of my hair. The owner said she would refund my money if I came in so she could see my hair. I showed her recent pictures of myself and how much hair I used to have and they could tell something happened. They tried to blame it on ME because they did an olaplex treatment and said that since I used Olaplex shampoo and conditioner that maybe that's why I lost my hair!! Awful Experience! Or should I say never got a chance to even HAVE an experience...I was at the University Town Center Mall with my daughter on Monday, Jan 20th and we started walking past what I thought resembled a rather lackluster salon. I walked into the salon and stood at the front desk for almost 10 minutes. I was hoping that there would be time for her to possibly get her base color done and a haircut. After not being greeted by a receptionist (not sure if there even is one), we sat on one of their couches. I saw 2 stylists working, but I didn't want to bother them since they had people in their chair. No one even came to acknowledge us. CLEARLY this place does not want any business if we can't even be helped by the non-existent receptionist. I even googled the Salon's phone number, figuring maybe the receptionist had stepped away and called the salon while i sat in their waiting area. I heard the phones ringing, a lady named Mimi answered and I was hung up on!!!! So we walked out and got her hair colored and cut somewhere else! Don't bother with this place. You walk in, you won't be greeted! When you call the salon to book an appointment and you're hung up on! This is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL customer service! Go somewhere ELSE!!!!!!!!! read more

I don't usually have the need to write negative reviews but I couldn't let this one pass. Can't say I can critique all the stylists at this salon only my first time and had Loxy do my color and haircut, it was a nightmare. At first, I thought she did a pretty good job on the cut but when I got home it was the worst cut I have ever had. Mind you, I wear a simple cut, very short and tight on one side and a little longer on the other side, I told her tight in the back as well, but she left a clump of hair at the neckline of the other side. The side and back were not cut as tight as I like it. The saga goes on, she would ask me questions about this and that, I guess to be social but she does not listen because she kept asking the same questions, like where do I live, etc. The punch line was the cost when I checked out, for a partial highlight and simple cut, around the ears and neckline, The bill...............over $200.00 would have been more but I got a 20% discount for a first time customer. Wasn't that generous! and get this, they charged me extra for a quick application of toner which should be covered with the highlights. Of course, they also attempt to sell a product which I got suckered into. and stupidly even tipped her $20.00, now that is "stupid". Prior to this visit, I had been going to a master stylist in Tampa and will continue with him, The longer distance is worth it, I only pay $130.00 and the quality of work is superior. Beware of this salon, there are plenty of good ones out there. Oh, by the way, the reason I was told they are so expensive is that their rent is high, really?..... in that case, they should hire professionally skilled stylists. read more

Not only was I informed that my Stylist Paulo was NOT IN ONE HOUR PRIOR my 630pm Apt, when I called back to be worked in for a Color touch up ONLY, was told by Reception ok sure be here by 530pm, when I said I was coming from St Pete and may not make that time, she said it's ok just come anyways, I'm goin to have someone work you in. So I hurried as fast as I could to make it, arrived at 5:45pm to be told "We apologize but you cannot be seen so we will have to reschedule you" I talked with the assistant manager, who told me she was unable to work me in. I drove 45 minutes to get to this appointment, to be told SORRY NO ONE has time to work you in. So if I were you I would HIGHLY recommend NOT going to this Salon. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had the most horrible haircut by Jo Banks at the Tricho Salon at UTC Mall. We talked about a trendy chopped haircut and she showed me a picture that was the haircut I wanted. In the end, I got a completely different haircut, nothing like I wanted. I don't even know what to call it, it is so disgusting and I will have to wait a couple of months to fix it. When I was leaving, I didn't have the heart to ask for my money back, but I can't stand it now and I will call the salon and ask for my money back. It is sooo awful. Jo butchered my hair and yes, I am going to call the salon to ask for my money back. The lady has no idea how to cut hair in a modern haircut, needs to go back to school and learn how to do her job. I can't stand my hair, so awful, plus It cost me one day salary. Expensive and awful. All these new salons are just someone with money buying equipment and renting it to whoever wants to pay them for a chair. I love this salon, the only place where I actually got the color that I wanted. After 3 years of trying to go silver icy blonde (or a pastel silver lavender) and going to every single possible hair salon in Sarasota, I finally found a hair stylist that had the skill and courage to take me to that blonde. VERY hard to find someone that understands trends and doesn't just cut old people hair. Everywhere else they were afraid to lift my hair to that color and told me it wasn't possible (I naturally have dark brown hair). If you would like someone that takes pride in her work and actually listens to your requests, go to Jo Banks! The first time I went to her she gave me THE BEST color of my life. The second time the color was a little darker, but I'm still loving it and it will probably be perfect after 1 wash.
