There are plenty of good dining options on Rue Cler and you probably can't go wrong with any of them. Tribeca serves up good pizza, slow service, and a smoky atmosphere. Good solid dinner place! I had a carbonara that was more like an Alfredo but was delish! In town for a solo trip and had no problems ordering and enjoying wine while people watching! Once again, patios in Paris are smoking friendly and you have no control over who sits next to you. For this reason, I sat inside and luckily the heavy Summer's didn't arrive until I was done. I went here twice . First night was good had a nice man and the food was good , at-least for people who preferred Italian food over French food . I went back the next night because it was good but i wish i never did, i am left traumtized. A lady came to serve us , greeting us with " what do you want " with a miserable look on her face. We just went for dessert, so we asked for 2 things, a 2 scoop of ice cream, and cheesecake. As i was asking for the 2 scoop she kept going " what , what" in a very mean demeanor rolling her eyes, i then started to point at the item on the menu showing her what i meant, even though it was in english and read " 2 scoop", she wrote didn't answer wrote it down with a look on her face. ( the menu is mostly in English , or at-least dessert in which we were only ordering ). We didn't think much because we know language can be difficult, but from the second she came over she was rude, didn't ask how we were, if we wanted drinks, nothing. A man then came over , very stressed threw the spoons , forks , napkins on the table , we were so confused at this point because we just came for dessert and haven't asked for anything other then 2 items. He seemed very rushed and stressed so we understood and took it with a grain of salt . After finishing our dessert in which she places on table and didn't say a word, didn't ask us all night if we wanted water or anything to drink, or even a check, we finally caught her speaking too table next to us and asked her for the check, which she responds with " yeah sure " as she walks away trying to ignores us . Then finally the check comes and it's 30 , we only had 100, as that's what we came with and she gives us the nastiest look and says " ill take a card i have a card scanner thank you" at this moment we were like what, who does she think she is speaking to us this way. We then said that's all we have is cash and felt so uncomfortable and asked if it is ok she goes " give me a card I know you have a card", we insisted we didn't as we just ran to get some dessert and never have ever had a problem with giving a 100 bill on a 30 dollar dessert 9 never have i ever had that be a problem, nor anyone i know, this is standard). She then starts screaming at us in French causing a whole scene, i was speechless i said " mam I'm sorry i don't speak french i don't know what your saying", She slams door comes back with money and to be petty did it all in change besides the big bill. At this point we were just wondering what her issue was because we tried to be nothing but nice , stack plates for her before we left and didn't ask for anything other then what we ordered in the begging of our meal. She ended up giving us the wrong change ( less money then we needed back) so my boyfriend went to go talk to her, she starts yelling at him saying " heres what you want back f***** b****" , " f*** you" and screaming in French . My boyfriend flips her off as he's in aw in what just happened and then she runs after him screaming in French putting his hands on him and cursing him out in English " b****" " f*** you" and in French. This is where I step in to try to get him away asnshe's putting his hands in his face yelling causing a scene and he's doing nothing . She then PUTS HER HANDS ON ME AND MY FACE and screaming at me for a good minute where I say nothing , have done nothing but instead just push her hand off my face . This is when FRENCH people starts grabbing her back and trying to contain her as they knew she was crazy. At this moment I was shaking hysterical crying because we didn't know French , we didn't ask for anything and the audacity she had to do that was crazy . A man stepped out ( another waiter ) and pushed the waitress back and apologized over to over when I said I was calling the cops . The man said he was sorry over and over and insisted on me not calling the cops and how sorry he was and to just ignore her over and over . Other French people came outside talking to me and said with me how disguting that girl was , how sorry they were for me and how I did nothing wrong and they wanted to hug me . People then said I should call the cops because they were French and understood everything that was said and happened as I did not . I left because I never been in a situation or shaking crying like that in my life . I am disgraced at this and truly hope this gets attention because what has happened was truly a sin . read more

This restaurant was praised by Rick Steves, but my son and I were very disappointed. We arrived around 18:15 and were immediately seated. My son's pasta with Serrano ham and veggies, he said, was okay, but my veal scallopini was dry as a bone and had no flavor whatsoever. Worse, we were served our meal within five minutes of being seated, so obviously my dish had been microwaved. Besides that, the piece I was served was size XXXL; I don't think veal is supposed to be that big. One other point: like most Parisian restaurants, you enter through an outdoor seating zone, which is set aside for smokers. Unfortunately, the smoke made its way into the dining room, making the whole place reek. The server seemed embarrassed to have served us such poor fare. With two small glasses of passable wine, the bill totaled €41. A terrible waste. read more

We took a chance here as it was close to our flat and my son wanted pizza. (bit soggy btw) Our sever accidentally knocked our bottle of wine into my lap. He was very apologetic, and I went back to the apt to soak my clothes and change as I was wearing a light colored shirt and didn't want the wine to set in. Our food was OK- not bad, not great, good enough for the convenience. I was a bit surprised that after dumping red wine on me there was zero reflection of such a huge faux pas on our bill. While I didn't expect the whole bottle to be compris, I thought the least he could have done was offer to give us a glass worth or other such gesture as we paid for and didn't drink what ended up on my clothes and the street. Trust the reviews! This place was awful, terrible service and overpriced crappy drinks and food. I understand service in Paris is slower, this wasn't the situation. It took 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge my presence and he served a table of 6 that walked in long after me. Then he let me know that my card was declined (I'd been using this card in Paris for weeks with no issues) He rudely argued with me and then suggested I walk to an ATM to get cash. I told him it was his machine not my card and he was again rude to me. The table behind me minutes later had the SAME issue. No apology, and I let him know indeed it was his machine, clearly. Their wifi does not work, and that's a big deal when you're traveling abroad. There are TONS of other amazing restaurants steps beyond this place. Do yourself a favor, pass this one up. read more

Like in prior posts, you end up smelling like an ashtray. They way the tables are set up the smoke is trapped in the area. The server warned us against the lasagna, the cook made it in the morning. We stopped here for dinner last night, unfortunately they were extremely short staffed on a very busy night. None the less, the staff were super friendly and fun. We ate the escargot which was DELICIOUS!!! I got the truffle pasta which was deliciously creamy with lots of truffles, very good! Also got the Creme Bruele which was SO good and sugary and creamy. Save your money eat elsewhere. Service was ok. The main issue was the food. 13 Euros for one salad that was inedible (a meat and dressing on it so salty I couldn't eat it) and then 16 Euros for a salad that was served to me with a dead fly buried in it. i know i had said "service" (i am not even talking about great service!) is none existent in europe, especially in france. tribeca, however, is an exception to that normality. without being intrusive, the wait staff checked up on us more than enough to make us order another glass of beer and a cup of espresso. we came in between lunch and dinner hours after visiting rodin museum, and just needed to quench our thirst before getting some ice cream nearby. i can't say much about food since we only had french fries and aforementioned beer and coffee, but pizza seemed to be a very popular choice here. service aside, tribeca is a great restaurant to rest your tired feet and watch fashionable, dog-loving parisians. i thought this would be a touristy trap, but oddly, it was filled with locals enjoying late weekend lunch with family and friends. being foreigners had certain advantages. we were like the judges on "project runway", making comments on many passersby's clothes and shoes...mostly good because they did dress fabulously. it's amazing how nobody in that city is fat!!! read more

Looking for a lively place to eat, packed with locals, with great food at reasonable prices? Come to Tribeca, where you can have anything from salmon tartare to lamb chops for under 14 euro. The waiters all speak English and can translate anything for you. They always have daily off the menu specials, so definitely check that out. When we went at 9 pm, the place was packed to the brim, with prime real estate being outside on the patio ofcourse. If you don't want to wait too long, ask to be seated inside.. or as some of my French friends with me said, you can always go to Cafe Du Marche next door if you its too packed here. read more

Came back here after 2 years and liked my experience. HUGE improvements from 2012, that's for sure! They have an all-new staff, all of whom are courteous and kind. Best food my boyfriend and I had in Paris. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is super carnivorous so sometimes it is hard for us to find a good place to eat together. I like variety and normally prefer trying different restaurants when I'm on vacation. Not only did we go to Tribeca three nights in a row, but I had the rigatoni with truffle cream sauce every night! Defintely my favorite meal on the Paris leg of the trip. But enough about me and rigatoni with truffle cream sauce. As others have stated, Tribeca is relatively inexpensive and has a helpful and friendly English-speaking staff. I came here because it was in vicinity to my hotel while I was on holiday in Paris during the Christmas season. To be fair, I didn't eat much, aside from a piece of a large pizza and some steamed vegetable platter, but I thought their rose wine was perfect and the service was divine. The server was incredibly friendly, patient and helpful. It was also packed with foreigners, so it indicates a good environment for us. I would recommend for a good drink and food, with an open atmosphere that encourages a great time. Will visit again when I return! read more

The location is great, it is always crowded, and the people watching is entertaining. However, if you are looking for a gourmet meal I would stay away. I've been here many times out of sheer convinience and sometimes the food is noticeably better than others. The pasta is always good, the pizza is sub-par, and one unfortunate time my friend found a shard of plastic or glass (not sure which didn't thoroughly investigate to be honest), in her bowl of pasta. We found this place on our first trip to Paris back in 2004 and we ventured back to this spot in 2006, 2012, and our last and final time in April of 2015. The first time was one of our favorite spots to eat; extremely good Italian. I remember the Lobster Ravioli was one of the best I've ever had. Interesting to see a restaurant go through so many changes --in the wrong direction. Each time we visited it became less formal and sloppy and the menu has changed dramatically. Don't be fooled by its location as the food is sub-par and the service is absolutely horrendous. Worst service I've ever had in my entire life! Seriously, it was that bad. We waited 15 minutes for our server to even acknowledge that we were sitting there and then finally got to order. We ordered two glasses of wine, the pasta with truffle sauce and the lemon piccata chicken. Our wine took another 10 minutes to finally reach our table, and although every table around us received bread before their meal we did not. Our sever was too busy flirting with the girl at the table next to us to give us bread I guess... Anyways, our food arrived within the next 15 minutes and it was terrible. The pasta with truffle sauce was cold and tasted like it came frozen and they just heated it up in the back. The chicken was dry and definitely not worth the price. After eating only half of our meals we decided enough is enough and asked for the check. It took us 15 minutes to get our servers attention and when we finally did he pointed his finger at us and said "one moment!" Finally, he provides us with the check and before we can say anything he says "merci" and runs off. We were paying with card, which I was visibly holding up when he dropped off the check but he still refused to acknowledge that and walked away. So there we were still sitting at the table with the check and card in our hand just to watch our server give the girl next to us free wine and ask her to take a selfie.. seriously? Finally another employee saw our frustration and quickly ran our card. Our server was beyond rude, and I wouldn't advise anyone to eat here. Service and food are both terrible! Great food, reasonable price, popular Rue Cler location! I initially emailed them to make a reservation for 13 but I had to cancel. Instead we came a day later after visiting the Eiffel Tower walked right up and they were able to seat us inside for a party of 9. Staff spoke English and was upbeat and kind to all of us. The food was great. From pizza, pasta, and salmon dishes. The place didn't disappoint. It's on a popular strip so if you can nap yourself a seat outside that would of been great.
