Although not geographically the most convenient garage from my house, I came on the recommendation of a family friend and couldn't be more pleased. Honest, easy to communicate with, and very friendly, Triangle is one of the few car-care places where I don't have to call my dad for a second opinion. Had my brakes done, several oil changes, and the cooling system (heat/AC/fan)--they were great and worked with me to get parts that were in my budget. Last week I had my bf bring the car by when the check engine light came on, and they took care of it (a hose got disconnected, possibly after my oil change at Jiffy Lube) no charge, no wait, no problem. Great Company! I was in town For a Cubs game and hit a pothole, which cut the sidewall. The wrecker recommended Triangle Auto Service. I was there about 15 minutes before they closed. I knew the tire was an odd size so I was ready to wait til tomorrow to get it replaced but Bryan got one of his guys to go right then and pick up one tire for me. I couldn't believe it, they made me feel like I was there only concern. They had me out of there just minutes after there closing time. I've sent all of my family to them since and have only heard good things. So quit wasting your time with the big chain repair shops, and build a relation with this honest, local shop. read more

Cannot say enough nice things about this place! Everyone was so nice and they were very quick. I needed major major service done to my heater that involved taking my entire dashboard apart. They were significantly cheaper than anywhere else was able to quote me, they didn't try and add on anything I didn't need, tried multiple more affordable options first, and still managed to get my car back to me within 2 days. It's 100 degrees and my wife won't roll down the window cause it messes up her hair! Help!!! Hadn't used air conditioning in 02 Explorer in 2 years cause it was just blowin hot air. Afraid to take it to dealer because of past rip-offs. Checked Yelp and found triangle. A little skeptical because it's a small shop and a long way from home, but willing to travel to get service I trust. Paul and his lovely lady in the office were the best. I'm so glad i waited and trusted the ratings. Air blows cold and i can drive again. Price was so small i felt like i should have tipped them. a few years ago I took my car in for service at another place because the "Service" light was on. I was told the problem was a faulty sensor, and the service light was giving false alarms. Pay $200 to fix the light or drive and ignore it? Ignore it I did. Recently, when I took my car in to Triangle this time, they found quite a lot that my light was legitimately warning me about. After I got over the initial shock of what all of it would cost (a thousand to make the car safe, another thou for the AC). But I decided that their explanations and priorities were indeed reasonable, and have bit, by bit, getting my old 5 (yes five) cylinder Volvo back in shape. That they can handle an odd foreign car is a credit to them as a dealer would really be some money. Recently bought a well-used Volvo XC90, knowing that it was coming up on the 97k service interval. Just before I was ready to have that done, the vehicle gave me an "anti-skid service required" message too. I researched the scheduled service and estimated cost at Edmunds, and read up on the anti-skid service (which could be due to many issues, ranging in price up to a few thousand $). Gave Triangle a chance based on good reviews here. Dropped it off after-hours. Got a call at 9:20 the next morning with the estimate, including recommendations on things that I didn't need just yet but should keep an eye on. Work was complete the same morning....total cost for anti-skid service and scheduled inspections was less than the Edmunds estimate for the scheduled inspections alone. Based on this visit, these guys are knowledgeable, honest and quick. Definitely going back here next time I need service. read more

I wallowed for years from one pricey mechanic to another until a friend recommended TRIANGLE. I began taking my cars there about two years ago. These guys are the best in Chicago. Gary, Paul, and Brian know the true meaning of customer service. Their mechanics are top-notch. They have never done work on my cars that I have not asked for and they have always advised me when my cars needed work that I may have not been aware of and they never pressured me. They keep me advised of how the cars are running; it's like going to a good doctor. Their prices are more than reasonable and they are the most personable folks you'll ever encounter in a mechanic's garage. I randomly found this station on Yelp. It had great reviews so I chose to check it out. The reviews were right. They were great! I went in for an oil change and tire service. thought the cost would exceed over 70 dollars, but was happy when it came to less than 50 dollars. They plugged my tires, changed my fluids, and gave me a oil change all while engaging in conversation and being extremely helpful and friendly! I will definitely be back again! read more

I ran across this listing back in April totally by chance, linking from review to review (started by looking for a restaurant!) and I didn't even need any car repairs at the time. Fast-forward a number of weeks, and I'm cruising down the street and hear that telltale squeak. Ugh. The brakes are going! My 1990 Accord has had air conditioner issues for three years. I had been patronizing a shop in the northwest loop that obviously couldn't pinpoint my system's leak problem, but rather chose to just replace part after part (last season's part du jour was the compressor $500, probably unnecessary) in the hope that eventually they would get to the bad part and I would have air again. DO NOT patronize a garage that uses the UV light leak detection method, insist on the "sniffer device" . These master mechanics at Triangle had me diagnosed immediately! Fixed my A/C within a few hours, honored their online coupon, and did not try to up-sell to other services, even though my 20 year old car is a prime candidate. I've had many good experiences with Triangle. They've changed my oil and removed countless nails and screws from my tires--and never ONCE have they tried to sell me something I didn't need. In fact, when I dented my car by backing into the snow plow on a garbage truck, they pounded out the dent and--although I was quite pleased with the result--they weren't totally happy with it, so they charged me nothing! I rarely post reviews, preferring to lurker and poach off the work of others. Triangle Radiator has forced me out of my shell. I took my 2001 Acura MDX here on the recommendation of Ken, one of the two patron saints of Ashland Tire, the BEST place for car service bar none. I called Paul at Triangle after Ken told me the needed repair, replacement of an evaporator which I understand is a key component in the A/C operation, was outside of the scope of work they perform at Ashland Tire. I spoke to Paul @ Triangle several times over the phone; he carefully explained what was involved and gave me the option of purchasing the factory evaporator or an aftermarket version that sells for 30% of theprice of the Acura version (I gladly took advantage of the cost savings). He gave me an estimate of the cost over the phone and a clear picture of the time that would be involved in making the repair (a big job that requires removing the dashboard and related components to get to the evaporator). Once my car was at the shop, Paul kept me informed and even walked me through an inventory of other things that were amiss with the car - not to sell me other services, but to be sure there was no misunderstanding about things that were broken before they started the "surgery" on the dashboard. Paul's team got the work done in the time promised and the actual cost was spot on from the estimate he provided over the phone. I hope I don't need their services again - this is not a cheap repair - but they did a terrific job and would certainly get my repeat business. read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and am so mad at myself for not going here sooner. It is so difficult to find a mechanic that you 1)trust 2)is reasonable and 3)has good customer service. Triangle has all 3. I went in for an oil change and they promptly completed my service. I spoke with 3 people in the office and all 3 were friendly, helpful and informative (both on the phone when I called prior to my appointment and in person). The oil change was less than $30, which was a great price for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. While I was there, I over heard one of the men going over what they found needed to be fixed on another women's car. He broke it down to what was wrong, how to fix, how much it would be and then he did something that I've never heard another auto shop do...he also broke it down to what you need to fix now, and what can wait a little while longer if you can't afford it right now. I don't know a lot about cars, but it did not sound like he was trying to oversell her services. He was just telling her the deal with her and then allowing her to make a decision. I will definitely be going there from now on for my oil changes and should I ever need a mechanic (god, I hope not!), I will go to them. Their hours are only 9a-5p which can be challenging if you work during the day, but they allow drop offs after hours as well. read more
