I highly recommend this shop! I am very apprehensive when it comes to getting my car fixed at a new place. My car was towed here after it died, and we didn't know what was wrong with it. Paul was great. He called me after they looked at it and gave me a detailed run down of the issues and things which needed to be fixed. He went over the estimates, and gave me the worst case cost if more than what was visible needed to be fixed. He made it clear nothing would be done or charged without a discussion. He called several times with updates, made very solid recommendations, and not all the things we thought could need fixing, needed to be done. I can't say enough good things about Triangle. I have brought my car and my wife's car there on several occasions and been very satisfied every time. I'm a pretty handy guy and I've been tinkering with cars for a long time. I usually have a pretty good idea what's wrong when something breaks. I don't always have the time or energy to fix what's broken so I take it in. I can usually tell when someone is trying to sell me stuff I don't need and Triangle has never pulled that nonsense. For their U-Haul Truck Rental: We reserved via u-haul online for a 9am pick-up on a Tuesday. We were late! They called US to confirm if we were still renting it and we said yes, but within the next hour & they were fine with it. We got there and while there were other customers in line for auto repair section, the woman helped us immediately for the u-haul rental. All were very nice & courteous, we had a pleasant experience renting with them. Wish they had a bigger truck option, but we did what we could with what we had. Rental process was swift, we moved our items for the day & returned the truck later that evening via dropbox. We would definitely rent with them again. I went to Thom's Four Wheel for a simple oil change and they told me it'd take all day and wouldn't budge or even give me an accurate estimate on when I'd be able to pickup my car. I chose to go to Triangle instead since I heard good things. They said, "We are really busy right now with some big jobs. Are you available on Tuesday? We could schedule a time and get you right in." I wasn't available and asked if they could accommodate my request to get it done that day. After assessing if they could do it, they said it'd be done in an hour. That's how you do business. Auto repair done right!! Been using Triangle for over ten years now. I have owned several cars in that time and all have been serviced by them. Unlike my experiences with car dealer service shops Triangle checks the car and lets me know whats needs to be fixed now and what can wait. Not all of us have an unlimited checkbook so an honest assessment is a nice change when it comes to an auto repair shop. They have worked on gas and deisel cars that I have owned, deisel cars can be tricky in one case the dealer wanted $1200 for a repair. Triangle charged me $700 bucks for the same repair using the same OEM VW parts the dealer would have used. If you are in the Irving Park neighborhood definatly give them a try! read more

I truly randomly picked this business because my car was emitting a strong, offending odor from the engine and it smelled like coolant burning...not good. No leaks, the fans were fine, the cooling system was fine except for a sticking thermometer. So, I had that replaced along with an oil change and decided to go ahead and winterize my car. I always go to these guys. I live in Roscoe Village, and go to school up near WI, and I still go to Triangle in Chicago. I go here for oil changes, tune-ups, I've had my A/C recharged here, my serpentine belt changed, and numerous other smaller things done. The big thing: they have earned my trust. Which is amazing. I mean, "auto mechanic" and "trustworthy" go together about as well as "attorney" and "moral authority". I recently drove from Chicago to Nashville (7.5 hrs) in my '01 Monte Carlo, and beforehand took my car to Triangle and asked them to check everything out before my trip. They changed my serpentine belt, rotated my tires, plugged up a small hole in a tire, and changed my oil... but, they also told me of about 3 or 4 other things that I need to get checked out and fixed in the next few months. This is the second or third time I've gone to Triangle Auto Service. They are always so nice and quick when working on the car. They let you park your car in the lot and leave your keys if you need to drop it off on the off hours. When they looked at my car, they had some recommended fixes. The budget didn't allow for that today, but gave me a written quote and I'll definitely be going back there to get the fixes done. After checking in there today, I saw a yelp deal... $10 for $20. There is a lot to say that is good about triangle. I've been getting regular service and tune ups at triangle for at least 5 years. When talking to Paul and Bryan you can tell that they are knowledgeable and care about keeping regular customers. I have told friends that they are kind of like the uncle/neighbor/friend that knows a lot about vehicles and are willing to help you out. I got a new car about a year ago and they informed me honestly about repair costs for my old car which was very helpful in making the decision to get a new one. In the past they have also just checked over my car before a long trip or if something just seems a bit off. At times I have had to wait a little while for a fix (expected in car repair and then I usually go down the street for some coffee) and they always keep me updated. It is very rare for people to be rewarded for doing good in this world so I want to break that mold and let the good workers at Triangle know that I appreciated the professional honest work they did on my 2004 jeep cherokee. This car has been good to me but when it goes wrong its been really pricey to fix. The guys at Triangle treated me like they would one of their friends and told me things to look out for in that they have seen in this make and model which were a couple of things that I had already had to replace. I called from the Volkswagon dealership because they were trying to charge me $230 to get a fuel system cleaning. I looked at saw other chains offering it for $90 so I thought I should shop around. The guy who answered was so nice, he told me that it wasn't really necessary and I should decline. He went on to explain that if you buy good gas it has cleansers in it that will help keep things clean. I couldn't believe how helpful and generous he was with his time. So kind, If I ever decide I do need service I would feel 100% confident going here and knowing I wasn't getting screwed over. read more

The key in our car would it turn and Brian came over two blocks away and tried to fix it onsite, then when I brought it I they gave me wonderful advise. Amazing service. I had my vehicle towed to Triangle after hours when my recently purchased vehicle broke down. I contacted them when they opened to let them know the situation and why my car was sitting in their parking lot. I spoke with Paul and he was awesome, gave me no hassle when I said I wanted to try and sort things out with the dealership before having anyone look at the car. When I finally did request a quote I got it quickly. I have a few friends that are very into working on cars and when I asked them if I was quoted a fair price all of them concluded I was getting a very fair and reasonable price for the work that needed to be done. They also completed the repairs a day earlier than I had expected which was such a relief. Went for Winter Special coolant flush (by recommendation of Ashland Tire & Auto). By far the most affordable place to get this service done. They even gave me a ride back home, b/c they had a couple cars ahead of me. I went back again later in the month b/c my Jeep was still overheating on occasion. They made a quick temp. fix at no charge to get me rolling for awhile, but also gave me a detailed demonstration of how the cooling system works in my Jeep and what things I should do over the course of the year to get my system in prime condition. I went ahead and had some of it done right away at, once again, a very affordable price. Paul was a great help and easy to work with. Good mechanics are hard to come by. I had several mediocre or bad experiences in the city before I found Triangle. They are friendly, honest and knowledgeable, what more do you want in a mechanic? I trust them to tell me what's really wrong with my car and not pad the bill like so many other places. This shop is a new twist on CON using their knowledge to put you in a screwed situation. They say we will look at you car for nothing and if any charges arise they will let you know any $ being charged you, You a great price quoted after they tell you what problem is and in my case explained what I tried already ( my car is a 1995) $260.00 didn't sound bad for a heater core and some vacuum lines rerouted,So I said do it they said I could wait for car as it would only be 2/3 hours after this time period or close the mech. came out and said my car was fixed and ready to go I paid went to car started it and it was popping ,sputtering,jerking when I pulled out of lot and went and got mechanic who worked on it and told when My Own Heater Core was flushed ( not a new one) there could be water in engine this is why car is running like crap now and to drive it around the block which didn't work so they bring car back inside and after 5 minutes came into office ( you can only SEE what is really being done to your car as your not allowed in shop) and told me I needed a Intake manifold $650.00 bucks $910.00 total.And that my $260.00 I already paid wasn't refundable (Because I knew what was wrong with car B4 bringing in and there would be $40.00 a day "storage charges" When car was being estimated I told mech. what I had tried Plus who is the professional mechanics.Anyway I got to have car back as my foot just had surgery on it so I paid the other $650.00 for an intake manifold and after paying was told it was just intake gaskets.So for the $910.00 they put in under $75.00 in parts and $835.00 in labor they charge $98.00 bucks an hour for labor when going price is $65.00. I go back for car the next day and all seems OK besides what I got charged and drove away with heat and car running as it did when brought in and when I tried to adjust my power mirrors they both were dead as driver 1&2 seat,mirror adjustment and power seat won't move back or forward & passenger door panel was bolted down in middle and 2 inches away from window noticed by friend who is only person I have in car except my small dog worked fine for the 3 years I had car with 100000 miles on it and suddenly all went out after I got car back late next day.I brought back and they claimed they didn't touch none of the dead items so basically I did get my car heater core flushed and small elbow installed $25.00 have heat and a $45.00 intake gasket charged $835.00 for work when no core was installed or Intake Manifold as told I needed but after found only needed gasket & 4 inch metal elbow on top of engine and having a S.Load of problems when done I will be returning to Garcia's Auto Repair across the street from Humbolt Park across from park on S. Div. and California side Where I don't understand the Spanish BUT you get honesty a good price and car comes back working with nothing suddenly broke and if there is anything not right or working it is fixed free and go home knowing that you won't be back until something really go's out on your car/vehicle. This is my first (and who knows maybe only review) I've written. I was driving to work from the suburbs when my check engine light came on and the driving became incredibly... odd. I pulled over onto Irving Park and quickly looked to Yelp for a place to look at the car. I know less than nothing about cars and in my situation was the easiest mark in the world to be exploited. The guys at Triangle took what was an awful day and made it about as good as it was going to get. They diagnosed the problem and then explained everything about what they thought was needed and why in a way that was completely clear, even to me. They then did the job in a reasonable amount of time and charged a very fair price. I talked to a couple of different friends who actually know about car repair about the experience afterwards and they both thought everything added up and were impressed. I live nowhere near this place but had one more car issue and took it to Triangle, happily passing by a boatload of other car repair places, and had a second great experience. Finding a car repair place you can trust is huge and I'll gladly sacrifice the inconvenience of their location being nowhere near my home to know that I'll be given reliably good service at a fair price. read more

While waiting for my car, I observed the team interact and listened to the head mechanic call a client to tell him that so much work was needed on his car that it was not in his best interest to throw money into the car, because it was shot.
