Very kind staff, looked up parts needed easily. Also let me borrow a tool to help install. I've been here a few times now and will continue to come back read more

Great local business. Was in and out in 5 minutes with the best / most bang for your buck windshield wipers. Other places have I've been have lower quality windshield wipers that cost more. Good helpful service. read more

Your local neighborhood parts store of over 40 years. I came here looking for engine and cabin filters for my wife's Rav 4, and was helped by Jamal who was very friendly and got me the parts at a good price. In addition, I had previously bought a car battery at another parts store, and wasn't sure if it was the right one. Jamal was happy to look it up for me and confirmed that it was the right model for my Venza, giving me peace of mind. Nothing against the big chains, but I like to support our local businesses, and this is my new parts store. read more

I needed some oil the other day and stopped into LeMay Auto for a few quarts. The owner happened to be there during my visit, and he was not only nice, but truly informative. I ended up buying a case of oil and some oil additive that he recommended. The recommendation was terrific, as it's slowed the loss of engine oil. Very grateful for his advice. Overall, the other employees I met with were just as great, and it's a place I'll visit when in need. Much better than the run of the mill auto shops. Thanks again! Abe read more

Went in today to replace an old battery for my 2010 Civic. LeMay had the cheapest options and helped me out a ton with the replacement. It was my first time replacing a battery in eight years -- I ended up needing special tools, replacement screws, and WD-40 to deal with all the rust. Hong is the man, came out to help me remove the old battery and gave me a fair price on any extras I needed. Highly recommend. read more

Lazy, unknowledgeable and untrustworthy employee both times I went there. Needed a simple pneumatic tire pressure gauge. Tried to charge me $26. When I asked if I'd heard him correctly he offered to knock off a few bucks. Saw the exact one for $6.98 at a gas station. read more

So impressed by this business! My car's battery died and I walked in 45 minutes to closing and they immediately helped me out. As a woman, and one who doesn't know much about cars, I am always so worried about being taken advantage of when it comes to my car. But these gentlemen were incredibly helpful and informative. They changed my car battery in 20 minutes, and for a great price. It's clear this Chicago small business cares about their community. I will definitely be coming back here! read more

They are great. No place compares or exists in the area. Stopped in for a new battery, wiper blades and a handful of misc. items and they had it all. read more

My car died unexpectedly in a parking spot that was on a block about to be shut down for roadwork. I was in a bit of a panic and they said they would test the car battery for free so I could eliminate that as an issue. They tested it and said it was likely toast. Within minutes I had the new battery and was able to replace it quick. They were super helpful with my questions and explained everything well. read more

Good experience! I stopped at Lemay and purchased new wipers which an employee put on my car in less than 5 minutes. There are good quality and quiet. Easy parking right in front. read more

We are from out of town and our car broke down. The parts that we needed were on hand at LeMay's and he even set us up with a local garage to install them. Great value, great service, cannot thank them enough. read more

A life saver. On a late Friday afternoon, my daughter's car battery gave up the ghost while parked in an alley. Jumping it did not work. And if she would have left the car there, it would have been towed. I called Le May (the closest auto parts store to her location) to ask about options. They offered a great one - to deliver a new battery & install it. Wow... I didn't expect that, but it was perfect. Again... many thanks! read more

Went to Le May's yesterday to try and buy a license plate bracket, they don't carry them but offered to order one for me, saying the cost would be around $50 or $60 dollars and would be hard to find since I have an Oldsmobile. Umm... I know I'm a girl but I wasn't born yesterday, license brackets are not hard to find, they make universal ones and they are $3 or $4 dollars, not $50. Definitely felt like they were taking advantage of me being a woman. read more

This place is great they went above and beyond to help me with a light bulb for my car. Super friendly staff would recommend to anyone who is look for auto parts at a reasonable price. I will be coming back for all my auto parts needs. read more

All the previous reviews were written by a bunch of yuppie haters. This is an OLD SCHOOL parts store run by old men who have a sense of humor and who actually know what they are taking about, not minimum wage grunts who only know what the computer screen tells them. If you need advice and parts for your vehicle, this is the place to go. Today I priced a fuel filter at Advance Auto Parts, they wanted $55. I got it at Lemay for $15. The first time I came here was because my battery was completely dead and after jumping it, my car was running like crap. I came here to get a new battery and the guy actually talked me out of dropping $100 and told me to take the car on the freeway for 30 minutes and charge the battery at high speed first. It worked and I saved the cost of a new battery. This store has knowledgeable and honest staff. And I'll always come here for parts first. read more

I've been to Le May twice. The first time, about 5 years ago, I bought windshield wiper blades and the guy offered to install them for free. Sweet deal. I think it was raining or snowing that day, too. A year ago, a friend bought me some wiper blades that she said were the only brand she'll use--but that they were tricky to install if you don't know what you're doing, so get someone to do it for you. Finally, after all this time, I stopped by Le May this week. I told the older guy behind the counter, "My friend gave me some wiper blades as a gift. If I give you $20, would you put them on for me?" He said, "I'll do it for free," and boom, my wipers were done. Incredible customer service for a non-paying customer! (I think the guy was the owner and not a working stiff in need of the cash.) read more

The owner is incredibility rude. I went in to purchase a headlight bulb for my honda. The bulb had a 50% markup, as compared to a dealership, so you know you're getting ripped off. He charged an additional $5 for someone to put it in, and then got angry when I questioned the charge. The additional $5 wouldn't have been an issue if the price was reasonable to begin with. I took the bulb out and went on my way. His excuse for his crass attitude was that he "deals with manufactures and major companies for wholesale [not small time parts]." Skip the hassle and go somewhere else. read more

Have gone there for as long as I can remember ....20-30 + years .... Great place good people nice prices!

When you choose to go to a small auto supply store, you go for the customer service more than the selection, at least I do. I got good customer service today on a small item, wiper blades. I am happy to go back again. read more

Avoid at all costs! The rudest men I've experienced ever. They were on ear headsets speaking to other people and interrupting me to talk to each other as I was speaking. read more

Love these guys. Stephen's review is spot on. They are funny old farts who like to have a good time with their customers. $5 to replace a Honda bulb? That's terrific. I didn't know they would do it that cheap. I'm going to have them do mine from now on. read more

Great experiences, the owner and his stuff is very patient, friendly and straight forward with me. Keep the good work,

I have a problem car. Its always got some obscure problem and requires some annoying part that can usually only be found at the dealer. Le May ALWAYS comes to the rescue. They find the best deals, are willing to call the dealer or get the name brand parts when necessary. Im an internet girl and routinely research costs on the internet. They are typically 10-15% below those prices. They won't win points on softness or bedside manner. Its a parts place, not a spa. I like their directness. They're honest and appreciate when you're honest too...if you have no clue, don't front. They will help you troubleshoot and give honest opinions. I love LeMay read more
