Trevarrow supplies built-in expensive as hell kitchen appliances. If you've ever seen a full-size wine cellar with digital temperature control and space for 80 bottles, then you know what I mean.
They carry a full line of Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, as well as many other makes. The reason I was here to look specifically at the Sub-Zero appliances; it was only a matter of time until my dad and I got sick of my mother drooling at one of these side-by-side stainless units, and so we banded our money together and intended to take a look.
You have to make an appointment with Trevarrow to get into the showrooms, but it's totally worth it. Their showroom is really a labyrinth of rooms made to look like various types of kitchens (I would assume this is for customers to better visualize Trevarrow's products in their own homes, but whatever.). It seemed better this way, since I was able to see how the fridge would function in a tight kitchen with an island... since - wow! - they in fact had one mock-up that was a tightly-spaced kitchen with an island.
I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the guy who was the salesman, but he was extremely helpful in speaking to my concerns. The problem I had with getting my mom one of these chic units was that, well, if and when it breaks down, who's gonna fix it? Apparently they have a whole fleet of people who work on these things, and it was good to know that they would available to us one day.
All that being said, this sort of fridge buying should be reserved for those with expendable cash, or those who want a fridge that'll last for decades. This is definitely a serious purchase. Still, the quality is worth it! read more
