First off, I would like to state that I am NOT tech savvy. I really do not keep up with technology that much. But I should have done my homework before I made my last purchase from this shop. A few years ago, I went in there to get a copy of Windows 7. Like I said, I do not keep up with technology that much. A guy there sold me Windows 7 knowing that the support for it had ended a few years earlier. Like I said, I should have done some research before I purchased it. It's my fault. But when I tried to return it, the guy refused to refund my money. Once again, I did not do my homework. But I think that the guy behind the counter should have at least tried to warn me that I was buying outdated software. It would have been the ethical thing to do. Sukru is the guy. We've bought numerous family computers from him, a couple of computers for friends and upgraded or repaired other random computers from him dating back to about 2004. He knows his operating systems, system management applications and hardware. He has quick turn around time. He does not want to sell you things you do not need. He sells some reconditioned, some fancy brand name stuff and some less expensive machines. I wouldn't buy a printer or a monitor from him because between Progressive Methods and Fry's I can get a deal on what I want, but a CPU or laptop - yup. Some things he stocks, some things he orders, but he always sets me up just right. I needed a laptop for school. I wanted something fast, with a big screen, lots of memory and ram, but NOT VISTA. He set me up with a brand new Dell with some upgrades and a nice legal copy of XP. Yay! And he is nice guy. Not overly cocky in his geekyness, which is refreshing. There isn't anything worse than a knowledgeable computer guy who reminds you constantly about your stupidity and inferiority because you messed up your computer. My poor computer died and before I gave up all hope and bought another one, I brought my baby here. Thank goodness I did. I came in with my poor baby and explained the problem. Dude took my information and said he'd call me the next day with a diagnosis. True to his word, he did. I have a 2009 MacBook Pro and I came in for water damage on the keyboard. I was told by the apple people that my computer was "vintage" meaning they didn't make parts for it anymore. They gave me a quote for over $500 to have the apple people get the keyboard from somewhere else and install it. They basically were no help because my computer was older and they were really pushing me to just buy a new one. These people at this store were so much more helpful and reasonably priced! For less than $250 they gave me a brand new keyboard, track pad (which the Apple Store had refused to change months ago), and cleaned the corrosion from the liquid damage. They also did all of this in about 5 hours and gave me my computer back on the same day! I appreciate their honesty so much! They could have very easily ripped off a desperate student but they were very helpful and explained everything that my computer actually needed. Also they have a flat labor fee and don't increase labor costs as the number of things you need done increase! 1000% coming back for all my tech needs! read more

I've been going to his shop for years, and he's never let me down. I've referred friends and family to him, and they all love him too. He gave my stepdad's very dead laptop another two years of life, for under $100. The used desktop we bought from him is still going strong. He's diagnosed and repaired several laptops for me and for other family members, always quickly and perfectly and for less than other places. The computers my friends have bought from him are all going well, too. I'm pretty hopeless with computers, so I brought my first-sluggish-then-endlessly-booting-up laptop to Trend Tech Solutions one afternoon. The man helping me figured out that my hard drive had crashed and laid out my options and the costs for various new hard drives and the labor. The team was able to salvage most of my documents (definitely back up your files often) and gave me back my operating system and even threw in an older version of Microsoft Office, all to the tune of around $200. I was able to pick up my laptop about 24 hours after I dropped it off. These guys are A-W-E-S-O-M-E! My dc jack was loose a couple of days ago, and I had spent the morning calling different places shopping for prices, everywhere else told me that it would take them 2-3 days to look at the computer and then possibly order the part which would take a maximum of 5 days, and then fix it all that for at least 100 dollars plus labor fees ... so I would technically get my computer back in a week or so when I needed it within 24 hours to continue working on what it is that I was working on. When I called those guys, it was 5:50 pm, told them about my problem, told me if I can get to them before before 6:15 they could fix it for 120 and give it back to me the same day ( they close at 7) - I was ecstatic!! Got there at 6, left at 6:30, computer was fixed, and I was a happy customer, they even gave me some good advice on how to avoid this problem in the future! This place is a gem. My work laptop straight up died on me a couple nights ago. After trying to fix the mysterious issue myself for an entire day and getting very behind on deadlines, I started calling around at 5 PM. Several places told me that they wouldn't even look at my laptop or give me a price for at least 4 or 5 days. I called Trend Tech and was told to come on in and that they'd get me fixed up before they closed at 7. I arrived at 6 PM. They transferred my files from my dying MacBook to another laptop I had and I was on my way by 7:10 PM! They were so polite and patient with me. This place is great. The staff is courteous and efficient. The prices are very competitive, and they get things back to you in the same day, if you drop it off before 2pm. The problem with my PC laptop was that it needed a new harddrive. I bought a new harddrive at a big box store and brought it to Trend Tech Solutions. They installed it, with all of my previous programs, for $100. And they stayed well past closing time to make sure my computer was running. The store also has a selection of used laptops. It's a small selection, say five or six, but they are all less than $200 and ready to go. I wish I had more money so I could buy computers that I don't need. One caveat - Getting to this place can be tough, due to the traffic in and out of Emory. Try to get there before or after the rush hour times. read more

I purchased an HDMI cable from a Decatur computer store in November - I spent $181 there that day. The cable worked nicely at first. But last week when I unplugged it from my computer, it fell apart. I took it back to the store and the owner was obnoxious. He would not even consider replacing it with a new one. As I turned to leave, I told him he could keep it.
