This restaurant is located within the InterContinental Hotel. As a native New Orleanian, this was my first experience here. Although I had an appetizer, it was good. I mean I do find that some restaurants skimp in the crab in the Bisque and this did. It was definitely missing something. The fried green tomatoes was great. This is definitely a walking place. You're wither hanging in the area already or actually staying at the hotel. We were there during Mardi Gras and it was fairly empty during lunchtime.
Yass!! Nola, the Half Shells were so fresh, I know they caught them today right out of the sea, straight to my platter! Love them- they missed not having a Mignonette French sauce, the homemade skins and bacon butter were fire, and keto. Loved it all!! The VODKA JUBILEE - St Roch cucumber vodka, mint, blueberries, and cucumber was a refreshingly strong, great pour. Definitely a yes- 8.5/10 due to no mignonette sauce! Pull y'all self together and add that sauce!! The atmosphere was lively. Lastly, my waiter just stole his tip. I gave him $20 in cash for a $16 drink, gave my card for the food, and he kept my change! He was a great server, very attentive, and I planned to tip him well, but he took 40 %!!
As far as I'm concerned, this is the best restaurant in NOLA. It is inside a hotel and right across the street from Luke, which we also tried (and wasn't as good). The service was impeccable, our waiter was Bryan. We both had glasses of the house red wine which was excellent. We had the boudin bites for appetizer - phenomenal. I had the Short Rib with Pappardelle and my husband had the crawfish etouffee pot pie. Both were incredible. We skipped dessert because we were too full. I had mentioned it was my husband's 50th birthday in the reservation and it would've been nice if they at least acknowledged it, but they didn't. Overall, we would 100% return to this place again and again.
Service: We came to Trenasse for dinner since we were staying nearby. It definitely has a more upscale feel, making it a nice option for date night. We were seated and attended to without issue, and service throughout the meal was smooth. Taste: The menu is simple but offers solid options. I opted for the mussels, which were delicious and the highlight of the meal. We also had the boudin bites and the pork chop, which were just okay. The rice and beans leaned a little too salty for my taste. Ambiance: The restaurant has a polished, upscale atmosphere that works well for a nicer evening out. It feels elevated compared to more casual spots, but still comfortable. Overall Review: Trenasse was a decent experience, though not my favorite stop on the trip. The mussels stood out, but some dishes fell short. I'd be open to trying it again, maybe during happy hour to see if that experience hits differently.
Everything from here was top-notch, amazing food, great customer service, and the Decker in ambience was simply perfect! Food: where do I start, all the food was amazing from all of our appetizers to the main course everything hit. The oysters were very tasty and I don't even really like oysters. The Boudin balls are some of the best I've ever had. The stuffed wings were very unique and special, full of flavor, and every bite was the best. The main course, red beads, and rice with fried pork chop. So good, I was so fool by then I could barely even eat. Came with some cornbread on top and it was the best. I'm telling you the food here is really good. Also, the gumbo was the best I had during this time in New Orleans, I come here all the time, and this was some of the best gumbo. The customer service was just as good. I can't remember his name, but our waiter was very nice. He was an older gentleman very personable , very friendly. He gave us some great recommendations. The restaurant is decorated perfectly, I like the low light setting makes for a nice intimate dinner. I'll definitely come back. That's what I love about neurology. You could literally walk down any street and just walk into a random restaurant and get some of the best food in the nation.
A friend told me about Trenasse (attached to Intercontinental hotel). Came here because of buddy told me about the happy hour from 3 to 6 PM. They came here mainly for the oysters and smashed several dozen of them. I came and decided to try the fried brie Smashburger, stuffed chicken, wings, and the barbecue shrimp. The fried brie Smashburger was delicious, but I cut the brie in half and smeared it within the sandwich. The slice of Brie that they give you in my opinion is way too much, I couldn't eat all that brie. Once I did good with that burger, it was time to kill it. It was delicious and the french fries were nice and crispy. The burger and fries 8/10. And stuffed chicken wings were a twist and chicken wings with chicken sausage. It was chicken, jalapeño sausage, hot honey, and some ranch dressing at the bottom. It's pretty good, but I couldn't eat a whole bunch of it, as the flavor was pretty intense, but overall 7/10. Lastly, was the barbecue shrimp. The shrimp came head on tail on and had a good flavor. This is a New Orleans, so you get tons of shrimp everywhere and even some much much more flavorful and pizzazzy, but overall, the shrimp were delicious and the barbecue sauce was a twist on barbecue sauce. Shrimp 7/10. Paid a total of $40 for everything so no complaints here.
We decided to eat here because it was an easy walk from our hotel(Hampton Inn & Suites New Orleans Downtown) and because it had the lowest priced oysters on the half shell at Happy Hour(3PM-6PM). We arrived at 3:15PM (Ha-Ha) and I had 1/2 doz Oysters for $7. I had the Bisque as my main and my partner had chicken wings. Please find a reason to order the hot Garlic Bread, oh so very good. My Bisque was smooth and delicious and the bread was the perfect accompaniment. This meal would have been on the low price side w/o the bottle of wine I ordered. This being NO, I could take the rest of the bottle with me, as our server suggested. Since we were on the early side for dinner, there was no wait and we didn't have a reservation, plus service was fast. It's a very nice space for a slowed down meal.
Excellent quality, fantastic service, and delicious food and drink! Is this a hotel restaurant? It doesn't really matter because this spot is really, really good. I've really taken to the CBD for work stays and I stopped in here for lunch. Enjoyed the upscale poboy filled with high quality shrimp, hold the oysters. The staff did not even flinch with my special request. Pros! The Blackberry Bramble cocktail was so good, I came back twice with friends in tow.
I came to this posh venue for Lunch with a friend by her recommendation. It was inside of a hotel so a bit hard to find if you didn't know it . The decor is upscale yet not braggadocios - cool and upscale. The service was top notch as well as the food . I enjoyed the gourmet Burger and she had the salad- excellent choice for posh eats !
We had dinner at Trenasse in NOLA. It was a great experience! We ordered the Sezerac and Orange blossom cocktails. Both were delicious. We had the BBQ shrimp and raw oysters for appetizers. Delicious as well. For entrees, we ordered the crawfish pie and BBQShrimp and grits. Very yummy! The only complaint would be, we were so full but we could not stop eating!! Our server was very courteous and friendly. Another plus! The restaurant was nicely decorated and the lighting was perfect. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Came here for a birthday brunch on a non-Saints game Sunday. We had a group of about 18 so we were seated at 2 separate tables..not ideal. Very nice decor and I liked the vibe of the restaurant. It wasn't very busy but our food took an Eternity to come out. I had the crabcakes benedict..egg was fried perfectly but crabcakes were dry and kinda flat. My cousin had the fried fish with grits..it was fantastic! The menu had good variety so everyone was able to find something they wanted. Their menu prices are for cash so make sure to bring cash with you. If not there is an atm available.
My best friend discovered one of the best happy hour deals in New Orleans way back in the day and showed it to me when we were both in town in like 2019. I went back last month and the happy hour deal is still rocking! This is the spot to get some cheap oysters in 2025!
This was pretty good for a hotel restaurant! It's inside the Intercontinental Hotel (which I don't recommend), and can get pretty busy, especially on a cold night where venturing out wasn't an option. The BBQ Shrimp Appetizer was on point. I was getting this at multiple restaurants on my last trip and this one was one of the better ones. The bread it came with was also great! The Crawfish Pie was also pretty good. It was kinda gross how it was presented, but it was tasty for sure. The Entree Size Fowl Gumbo wasn't the best. It was kind of watery (not very viscous) and the flavor wasn't as deep as some places. The Streetcar Cafe (or something like that) next door had amazing Gumbo though. I wasn't a fan of this version. I think they tried to elevate it a bit and fall short. I wouldn't venture out of my way to go here, but if I was staying and it was close, I'd go back for some BBQ shrimp as a snack!
Helene and I, along with our friends were staying at the Intercontinental while we were in NOLA prior to our American Cruise Lines River Cruise. On this day, we were out most of it walking around and enjoying and exploring the fun sites [all in the 105 degree] temperature. We finally made it back to the hotel and I needed BEER!!! Also, I was told the oysters here were very special and very good so this was the perfect opportunity before dinner at "Mothers." (There is a separate Mother's review) So... we made our way in to the Happy Hour at Trenasse. I must say that the whole experience was perfect. The beer was cold, the drinks my friends had were good and the oysters were perfect. A lot of people come here to eat dinner and clearly they have a wonderful reputation and some seriously good looking food. We came here to relax and cool down in a friendly environment and did just that. KUDOs to the team here at Ternasse. read more

Very nice place. The hostess was friendly and we were seated very quickly. We started off wirh a couple of appetizers: oysters, boudin balls, fowl gumbo, and crab bisque. The oysters were ok not to bad and were cooked perfect. The crab bisque was my least favorite lacking seasoning and crab. For entrees: Bbq shrimp n grits, louisiana crawfish pie, hamburger, scallops and i think it was the Gulf fish amandine. My favorite hands down was the crawfish pie, it was loaded with flavor. The shrimp n grits were a little weird but was bad. The scallops were awesome as well. Overall this place wasnt bad. read more
A friend and I decided to go for drinks before we went to Luke for dinner. Trey is on Saint Charles across from Luke and is attached to the intercontinental hotel. It has a separate entrance and a primarily separate field from being in a hotel bar. We sat at the bar and order the following drinks: PIRATE PUNCH Light, dark & coconut rum, pineapple, cranberry, ginger ale FRENCH 75 Bristow Gin, champagne, lemon Both drinks were well made and the ambiance was pleasant. read more

Tried Trenasse after a long day at a conference in the hotel and started with the BBQ shrimp appetizer and it was so good. The flavor was on point! I'm not usually a fan of shrimp with the head on, but honestly, the taste more than made up for it. I liked it so much I went back the next night and ordered them again. That says it all. Definitely recommend if you're in New Orleans and want something flavorful and worth the mess. Also tried the beignets and they were good but nothing special... read more
The ambiance here was super nice. It's connected to a nice hotel, and gives off a fancy vibe. Our server was super nice and even gave us pointers on where to stand during the parades. The food was delicious. We had garlic bread, char broiled oysters, crawfish Mac and cheese, and the green goddess salad. I really enjoyed the oysters the most. read more
During my visit to New Orleans, I was on the hunt for some incredible food, and I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. The BBQ shrimp appetizer was, without a doubt, one of the best dishes I've ever had at a restaurant. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the garlic bread that accompanied it was simply outstanding. Even after returning home from my trip, I still find myself thinking about that dish. The blue crab bisque was delicious as well (8.5/10), though I'd suggest not going for the entree size unless you're very hungry. The portion is huge, and it might be difficult to finish, especially if you're not starving. The garlic bread, as mentioned earlier, was excellent. I also tried the Soup and Half Po'Boy combo, which is a great deal. While the gumbo that came with it was fantastic (9/10), the Po'Boy didn't quite do it for me. It wasn't anything special, and I would rate it a 5/10. Overall, this spot was a great experience. If I ever make my way back to New Orleans, I'd definitely be excited to try more of their dishes. Also this place is located inside a hotel so if you ever visit you can enter through the hotel if you want. read more
I was invited here for brunch; I wasn't impressed by the food, but the service was good. Our glasses were never empty.I think the server overhyped the food, so I ended up underwhelmed. The presentation of the oysters was unimpressive and inconsistent. The oysters were also super small. I did not enjoy the gumbo because of the tomatoes and the seasoning. A big no for me. I liked the dessert more than anything. The price was reasonable, but they charge a service fee for not using cash. It was also very loud despite there being only one other party the entire time we were there. read more
Took pix of empty plates to remember what we ordered. We got a variety of items to share. Frog legs Fried green tomatoes Taste of Trenasse Garlic bread Oyster Rockefeller Blue crab bisque The scallops and pork belly dish Everything was good. I would not say out of this world but they had enough items that we felt the need to try several. The trout in the Taste of Trenasse was salty so glad we didn't get that isolated as a main. The crawfish pie was also good but wish the crust was more flakey. The shrimp and grits was very good. I enjoyed the grits which was nice and creamy. You can skip garlic bread. The butter was good but bread was not that great itself. My 2nd time trying frog legs..it was nice to get re-acquainted but it was just ok. Felt some grit in oysters and scallops but otherwise. Very delicious plate of gooey pistachio dessert that wasn't captured photo wise. We also tried 2 of their alcohol coffees which were also good. read more

Wonderful hotel restaurant with fantastic food. The crawfish pie and blue crab bisque were extremely good. Great Louisiana comfort food. Would definitely come back if I lived here! Located in the Intercontinental hotel, a very nice quiet yet casual restaurant. Nice decor, good service and a varied menu incorporating New Orleans, Southern and freshly prepared ingredients into delicious plates! Barbecue shrimp was delicious fresh sauce was outstanding, crab bisque, fresh and delicious and creamy, hubby had the burger which he loved, oysters so many to choose from from the menu were fresh and prepared deliciously. Deep fried green tomatoes over the crawfish sauce was rich creamy and delicious and their salads were fantastic. Fresh food fresh ingredients. Great service will come back oh and save room for dessert!! read more
We really enjoyed Trenasse in the intercontinental hotel. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays and has the whimsical corgi paintings displayed We enjoyed the intercontinental grilled oysters tremendously. A friend and I split the Trenasse Trio which included the crawfish pie, which was extra extraordinary; shrimp, and grits, which were delicious, and fish menuire, which is incrusted and delicious. Service was attentive and courteous . A spectacular meal ! read more
We came here for a birthday celebration and had a big party. The room they put us in was isolated, which wasn't bad, but it felt a little awkward in location. Our server was sweet and took care of us well so no complaints there. We wanted to come here mostly for the oyster selection they had. Started out with a dozen raw oysters. We loved them so much, we ordered another dozen at the end of the dinner. We ordered the oyster log for the table and while it was pricey, it was a great way to try all their charbroiled oysters. The garlic butter, gratin, and crab Bienville were my favorites but you can't go wrong with any of them. The oyster log also comes with fried oysters, which was a let down for me. They were cold and didn't have much of a taste. The scallops were tasty and I loved the desserts we had with the bread pudding and pistachio cake. The entrees were nice but not as exciting as the oysters for me. I'd come back for those oysters by itself! read more

Located inside the InterContinental Hotel, this spot was our first stop after arriving in New Orleans--and it didn't disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, which set a great tone for the evening. Since we were eager to dive into local flavors, we asked our server for recommendations--and every dish delivered. The charbroiled oysters are a must-try: smoky, buttery, and packed with flavor. We also really enjoyed the BBQ shrimp, which came in a rich, flavorful sauce perfect for sopping up with bread. Great service, solid local dishes, and a welcoming vibe made this a memorable start to our trip. read more

My recommendation is to sit at the oyster bar and watch Terrance make magic. The grilled oysters are phenomenal. ACME has nothing on Terrance. This place was recommended by a friend that lives in the area and he said it's a local's favorite! Crazy. It's a hotel restaurant. But they are knocking it out of the park. They have happy hour from 3-6 weekdays. Great prices on food and drinks. read more
Been here a few times now...so it's time for a review! I love the ease of making a reservation with Trenasse because they use Opentable. I have been here as a couple and in a group as large as 8 people. Every time I have come, I've had a great experience. The service is always exceptional. On my most recent visit, our server was super helpful when it came to helping our friends from out of town make the best choice for a meal and she also gave us advice on places to check out in the area. On my last visit, I went with the fish of the day, which was the puppy drum. It was blackened and tasted so good. I loved the potatoes and arugula that came as the sides. The meal was delicious. My significant other got the steak and I tried that as well and it was cooked to perfection. Trenasse is a great spot with a quiet and classy atmosphere. I highly recommend it! read more
This restaurant is located in the Intercontinental Hotel and it wasn't crowded on the evening I stopped by. It's a dimly lit restaurant good place for a date night. My waitress was welcoming and informed me of the specials of the night as well as her favorites. I opted for half dozen oysters cooked in champagne the Crawfish Pie and the Blue Crab Bisque. Instead of bread for the table they bring skins with a dip. The skins were tasty and light, I see why they serve these. The oysters were still sizzling when they arrived. Went for our first meal in NOLA just in time for their fabulous $7 Happy Hour menu with a nice offering of food and drinks. So happy we shared so we got a broader introduction to Creole cuisine (or maybe Cajun or maybe both? Even after looking it up I still don't know how to distinguish between the 2 ! ) Ratings: * for good, ** for great FOOD Happy Hour menu: *Uncle Duke's BBQ shrimp-3 shrimp served with a delicious rich sauce *boudin bites-2 pieces traditional pork and rice sausage crawfish hush puppies- not a hit with our group **Raw oysters (half a dozen $7)- super sweet and fresh and half price! My cousin ate 2 dozen these by himself! Regular menu: **Louisiana crawfish pie- delicious creamy pot pie with a nice crust on top *fried green tomatoes *blue crab bisque - my friend ordered this but it wasn't what she expected, maybe because of the sherry? What day and what hours are they serving the 75¢ oysters?
I have a photo on my phone that says happy hour 3-6 pm daily but I would call to check I took the pic in January
Is there any dress code?
Not an official one... No jacket is required for the men, for example. Still, I would suggest no shorts, tank shirts, that sort of thing. Business casual is appropriate I think.
What kind of champagne is served at bottomless brunch?

When do they serve the bottomless mimosas with brunch? Is it every day, or just on the weekends?
