We were greeted by Sam, bartender extraordinaire with a big smile and grateful to see you attitude. The inside is trendy with blackboards displaying drink and menus choices made ordering easy. They do have table service but we chose to sit at the bar. I liked their house craft cocktail choices which was a good mix of whiskey, scotch, and tequila. I chose a Prickly Pear Margarita -infused prickly pear tequila, lemon, lime, Royal Combier, rhubarb, activated charcoal salt. I always appreciate a drink that is as lovely looking as it tastes this drink did not disappoint. My husband chose The Shallow Pedantic - $12 which reminded me of all the best flavors you get in a Manhattan, Sazerac and old fashioned . The impressive ingredients are Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Absinthe rinse, muddled raw sugar & orange peel, Angostura & Peychaud's bitters. For eats I chose the Line-caught albacore tuna salad $11 ala-carte Tillamook aged cheddar on sourdough. My husband chose The Classic Burger $10 ala-carte 1/3 lb Cascade beef, American cheese, leaf lettuce, caramelized onions, house dressing on a potato bun. Both meals were tasty with well thought out ingredients. We walked away feeling full but not overstuffed. My husband said the Trellis burger is on his top 3 list of best burgers. If you read my reviews you know my husband and I have had 100s of burgers across several states.! I thought the price was fair and competitive. Stopped in after an Argyle reservation today. Had booked online but for whatever reason, it wasn't in their system. Autumn was a sweetie and took us anyways. She offered us in or outdoor seating. The establishment looks very small from the store-front, but was very spacious, yet cozy, inside. Our server, Sarah, was great and so was the food! The Rosemary cheese fries hit the spot and my short-rib sandwich was soo comforting. I'm not a fan of a lot of fat or gristle, so it was perfect. It was still a very flavorful sandwich and super tender; not one piece of gristle. I couldn't finish my generous side of chili, but it was hearty and delicious. Along with the chili soup, they had a hot chocolate cake/vanilla ice cream on special which I ordered "to-go." Sarah also makes a pretty mean Old Fashion. Yum! Three gal pals & I had lunch here on June 18, 2024....i made the reservation many weeks in advance, because it's a very popular place. The staff was super accommodating & let us choose indoors or outside - we chose outside on the charming patio. Our server was adorable, helpful & did a wonderful job with our order. The food was delicious! Our time there was everything I had hoped, as it was a birthday celebration for 2 in our group. My only disappointment was that I had called ahead to arrange for surprise desserts, but apparently that didn't get communicated to our server. The food here is amazing! Everything is prepared from scratch, so it can take a bit before it is served, especially on busy weekends. My favorites are the Reuben or French Dip. After an early afternoon at a winery we were in the mood for some lunch and my handy yelp app helped us find Trellis. We were welcomed into the dining area near the bar and we noticed there was also a small dining room off to the side. Trellis is light and bright with a friendly vibe and a decent selection of beer, wine and a full bar. I enjoyed a hearty short rib sandwich with horseradish aioli on the side. Very disappointing First off, if I am going to pay $10-$13 for a burger i would expect a side dish with it or it better be big. My friend's sandwich and my burger were just like any burger I could get at any restaurant like Shari's. But there I would get a side salad or fries or kettle chips with it. And I would expect to get my food on a plate not a cheap personal pizza pan! That was very tacky to me. That aside the drinks we got were amazing! This long Indigenous people Weeknd My husband and I visited The Willamette Valley wine country from LA and we were lucky enough to experience dinner and drinks here. Every sip, bite and waitress check in was just superb!!! To note, my husband is a culinary institute trained chef and I am a nyc grown foodie. Hate putting up a bad review because I'd like to see these folks succeed but when it is bad they should know. Wife ordered a Duck Confit salad and it was about as inedible as you could imagine. The duck must have been preserved in a block of salt - was like a salt lick you'd give a cow. The salad was literally drenched in so much vinaigrette that the lettuce started reacting to the acid and was wilting as it was sitting on the plate. How the chef thought this was a well prepared dish is a mystery to us. read more

This was my second visit to Trellis. The first was quite good and memorable; so much so that I chose Trellis over other restaurants in the area to take my friends who were visiting from out of town. Sadly, the second visit was a very different experience from the previous. First of all, I requested to be seated on their pretty back patio; however, the back patio is now covered by a dark and depressing tent -- no outside light, no charm. I understand that they most certainly put it up to accomodate guests during Covid, and it's expensive to take down. I'm just saying it's not the pretty patio that I remember and wouldn't choose to be seated there. Secondly, well, let's just simply say the food was meh at best. Both my friends ordered the bucatini carbonara, and both said it was a 5 out of 10. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special. I ordered the duck confit salad, which I had during my last visit and loved. This time it was a large pile of dry greens with a bit of dried-out duck confit. Where were the apples, the walnuts, the blue cheese? I suspect that they knew that it was not up to standards, as they offered to take it off our bill without me even asking. I'd like to think that maybe Trellis was just having a bad night? Maybe their regular chef had the night off (even though it was a Saturday)? Maybe they had a recent chef change? I don't know, but at the current level of quality, I can't recommend it, and I was embarrassed that I took my friends there, when there are so many great restaurants in the valley. read more

' so I looked for the online menu, they did bring us courtesy juice, after finally getting our menus we waited another 10 minutes; by this time there was another set of dinners seated, they got menus and their order was taken. We left. The wait staff are poorly trained and Just don't have a sense of customer service. Sadly we have eaten at Trellis for dinner and enjoyed the food and looked forward to going back, not so sure we will be back! read more

We live in the same neighborhood as this place and we really try to support the local businesses in our small town. I would've given Trellis 5 stars but tonight's visit bummed me out a lot. Unfortunately we could see into the kitchen from our table. I watched 3 different employees eating in the kitchen, directly in front of where the prepared food waiting to go out sits. Two servers and a chef. The chef was eating an apple while preparing food...at the same time. None of these employees washed their hands. Believe me, I was really hoping that they would but it didn't happen. Even minus this whole COVID stuff going on right now, that's just not cool. I understand people needing to eat, but do it where the customer's food is not and wash your damn hands please. read more

Needed a place to go after a semi-formal event, and made reservations at Trellis! I'm very glad I did because there was something on the menu for everyone in my large party to enjoy, and the ambiance was fantastic! The dining room is quite small and cozy, which I prefer as it makes for a great, intimate experience. This place would be the perfect spot for a date night as well! read more

Trellis is a nice restaurant, good new american style food with a local focus, and an excellent wine list with plenty of Oregon options. Trellis has a diverse menu with something for most folks. The service is friendly and solid. Worth trying for a casual or special night out. My rating may increase to five if another visit is super too. read more

Okay so this place just blew my mind. I had my favorite burger yesterday in Wenatchee WA and Trellis' classic burger just stole its spot on the top for me. I added tomato and avocado (all the produce is fresh from the Willamette Valley) and it was awesome. We ordered most of the menu. We got the short rib sandwich, the trellis rosemary fries, the tuna melt, the turkey melt, and the oysters. Every dish was ridiculously flavourful and delicious. We all cleaned our dishes. The wine selection is impressive too. At least half the wine bottles on the shelf are from vineyards in the valley. The Maison Roy Pinot noir 2016 was my personal favourite. The TUNA MELT is absolutely incredible. Hands down the best I've EVER had. They have nailed that slightly sweet, the perfect amount of salty with a beautiful depth of flavor. The cheddar cheese added in and then everything melted together is perfection (the tuna is not too wet either, and the perfect amount if chunky). I'm telling you, the texture is wonderful! Unfortunately my first time experiencing Trellis was during COVID so I had to do take out. But Megan (owner) has incredible phone etiquette and walked me through the order process over the phone. I got the Tuna Melt with their Salt & Pepper fries and a San Pellegrino. Food was ready in 25 minutes and the quality was clearly there, with fresh ingredients and obviously made with love and passion. We went during off hours (3:00pm Saturday) and the entire place was empty but we weren't allowed to sit inside and then they sent outside which was also empty but not allowed to sit on any of the many empty wooden tables. This was so weird. They were nice but made it very obvious that we weren't welcome. Food was fine. But when you go out out you pay for the food and the experience. Will not return.
