Accidentally came upon this super cute Korean bakery while my brother, dad & I were originally trying to go to Hansel & Gretel Bakery. We couldn't find Hansel & Gretel, gave up, and came here instead!.. I think it was fate. hahaha It was a lil weird because this bakery is located in a big Korean plaza, but there's two locations, one on the left end, one on the right end of the plaza. I think the one we went to on the right is the bigger, more poppin' one. Came in & I was in heaven! I was instantly in awe because it was soo cute inside, reminded me of a Korean Starbucks or something.. and you know those Koreans, they do every 10x's cuter than us Amurricans! I loved the atmosphere, a great place to study, catch up with a friend, or even read a book. They also had outlets! I need one of these cafes in California :( They have everything from coffee, bubble tea/pearl/boba drinks, pastries, biscottis, & that cakecakecakecake. Everything looked so delicious, I wanted to try em all! I just wish they had a better description besides listing the name & ingredients. They did have free samples here & there to try too. We grabbed a bunch of pastries, and when we paid, they threw in 2 free ones! Must be our lucky day! The Tree Story Iced Coffee was pretty delish, and my bubble black tea w/ pearls came in a slushy form, which I wasn't expecting. It was good, but the pearls were pretty hard.. I think because they froze in my cup. The Korean boys working there are supa kawaii too! They don't speak fluent English, but they try their best to help & are very polite. They even bowed when they gave us our drinks :) Definitely coming back here again before we head back to California! read more

This place is located in the H Mart plaza, directly adjacent to it on the right side. I just came home from visiting with my 8 month old, so here's what I think. Start with cons: -There wasn't a place for me to sit anyway, as it was busy, but I didn't see a place where you could safely put an infant car seat. Not a huge con, but it's a smidge of an inconvenience. I ended up eating on one of the tables out front and set my daughters car seat on the pavement. -Their drink menu wasn't huge or diverse really. Just basic coffees, flavored teas, hot chocolate, etc -My drink (plum iced tea) was good, but it was SO strong in reference to the flavoring. -Value. I don't feel like I got my money's worth. This place is a bit more expensive than other bakery/cafés I've been to. Now for the pros: -Interior is just wonderful. I love the theme! If you have children that would be old enough to appreciate the fun story time decor this would be a fun place to bring them! It also looked like they had a cart of books (I couldn't make my way over there because it was crowded). -My fruit and cream croissant was delicious. The fruit was juicy and fresh, the cream was perfect, and the croissant was flakey and cooked perfectly. I would order it again. -Service was what I expected. Not outstanding, but not bad either! -There's a huge variety of breads/pastries/cakes to choose from. They have what looks like authentic Asian deserts, mixed in with some familiar classics. This would be a great place to expand your dessert palette. -The sell King of Pops! No explanation needed here. All in all, I may not like it as much as I do some other cafés, but will I be back? I have to admit, I've only had them because my local Korean market (K-town in Raleigh, NC) carries them - and I've not had a bad thing from them yet. Everything, even after shipping tastes fresh and wonderful - and there's so many more things that I haven't tried that they carry (their larger cakes and macarons). Tree Story is located in the Pleasant Hill Super H-Mart plaza, specifically to the right when facing H-Mart. As with most Korean bakeries, there is a decent selection of sweet breads, cakes, and beverages. However, Tree Story is a bit pricier than other locations. I purchased a sweet potato bread and a bowl of the Red Bean Korean Shaved Ice (patbingsu) to share with a friend, and the total came out to around $14 or $15. I ordered the patbingsu for later, and the cashiers were polite and more than happy to fulfill my request. When my friend finally arrived, I simply walked up to the counter, and they started making the dessert for us (5-10 minutes). I haven't tried too many patbingsu's lately, but I like Tree Story's more than Paris Baguette's (the one that everyone goes to in Duluth). The ice was softer, and it included a larger variety of fruits. My favorite part was probably the large, sliced mochi filled with red bean paste. A delicious addition to the dessert in place of the usual small mochi pieces. The sweet potato bread (filled with sweet potato paste/cream) was good as well, but not worth the $3-4 I paid for it. Other than the price, I have no complaints. Plenty of seating, free wi-fi, good selection of items, and great service. I definitely plan to return to try some of their beverages, which seem more popular than their breads. read more

This is a cute little Asian bakery and cafe with plenty of sitting room to relax and chat. They have a wide variety of pastries, breads, and cookies. They also have bubble tea and coffee. It's in the same plaza as the Super H Mart, so there is plenty of parking. However, if the main lot is filled or you don't feel like walking from a super far spot, there are some grass spots through the "tunnel" to the right of Tree Story. Prices are pretty moderate, and the service is good. read more

This is such an adorable cafe hidden in the Super H shopping center off of Pleasant Hill Rd. The owners of this cafe also own White Windmill Cafe, located in the same shopping center. When you walk in, you can't help but notice the decor. They really went all out and decorated the cafe according to their "tree story" theme. You feel like you walked into a storybook. Definitely looking forward to introducing this adorable cafe to many friends in the near future. read more

This is a must try if you happen to love Korean Bingsoo and bread buns. I came after a 10mile hike and it's so comforting to share a huge bowl of red bean shaved ice with my boyfriend. We asked for extra red bean, and it seems that they poured a jar of red beans to the shaved ice, and their rice cake is sweeter than others'. We also had the cream buns with onion flavor, we didn't wanna get them first but they have the buy one get one free for the day. It's amazing! My mother-in-law loves this bakery above all the others she has visited in the area because of a specific cake that is split with cream and jam in the middle and a powdery sweet crumble on the top and bottom of the bread. I've never written the name of it down, so that's the best explanation I can give of it. It's a very good bread, and the other offerings were pretty decent too, but I don't love it as much as I love White Windmill in Nukoa (yes, even after the terrible remodel to appeal to moms!). Thankfully, this location is right next to H-Mart, so I was able to take my toddler out of the bakery where she was making a nuisance of herself and into a supermarket to get wiggles out. In fact, location is probably what will keep this place on our radar now that my wife no longer gets her hair done at the Nukoa Plaza. read more

Looking for some sweets after shilling at Hmart? This is your place. The storefront is just right of the main market and as soon as you open the door you are greeted with sweet smells. Most of their sweets on tables, setup with individual baskets etc, unlike sweet hut where everything is open and unwrapped in self serve shelves. We tried 3-4 different pastries that they were sampling next to the register. Everything is that take on Asian desserts with an American twist (ie red bean pastry) prices are great, most are around $2 or less each. One of my favorite Korean bakeries to go to whenever I visit Duluth! I usually just buy a whole bunch of bread but this time, I tried their bubble tea, as well. Although a little pricey, I was very pleased with it! I tried their Thai bubble tea and my boyfriend got the Green bubble tea. Both were very refreshing and delicious and I would definitely buy it again. Staff is so friendly and very welcoming. Their decorations are really cute and there are plenty of tables to sit inside. Went here during the weekday with my lady, it's a nice place to chill and had some coffee and some sweets. The coffee was really good , there pastries are quite pricey I must say. The cakes they sell there look amazing some of the most beautiful cakes. We got the Black Forest cake and was yum, the cake was very moist and the frosting wasn't heavy at all. Needed a cafe to get some work done and I dropped by this place since it was opened early. When you first walk in you can smell the fresh baked bread, buns, and pastries. When you pick it up it's still warm so you know it'll taste amazing. I got a custard bun and ordered a hot green tea latte. It bun was average priced around $2.50 but the tea was way overly priced. A small (I assume it was like 8 oz cup) was $4.50 and it wasn't even like the best latte I've had. Since I was going to be there a while I looked for a table near an outlet and to my dismay the only outlet I could find was literally by the window where your back is up against it. I tried to use their WiFi because what's the point of going to a cafe if you aren't productive or hanging with friends? I sat there for two hours with spotty WiFi since it kept disconnecting and connecting. It was weird since there was no one there for it to do that. After two hours I couldn't stand it anymore and had to leave. Wouldn't go there if you're trying to get work done. May be a good chill spot for friends though. read more

I visit Duluth a lot because of their Korea town and this is one of the bakeries I come to each time I visit due to three reasons. One, their service is always great and the girls who work there are always really sweet and quick. Two, their baked goods is heavenly. This time around I got the thai tea bubble smoothie, a slice of creme cake, and two bread & sweet cracker things for the road trip back to TN. Three, their cafe is nice and clean, very open, and somewhat give off a homey feel to it. If I lived here I would probably come here very often to study and relax because they play classical music and the place does not feel crammed. I've been to several bakeries in town and I definitely recommend this one if you're nearby! They seem to have amazing hours for people needing coffee before they start their day to students needing a coffee shop that opens a little later that also serve sweet goods. Overall, it's definitely one of my favorite places to come to! read more

I picked up a fresh cream cake for Father's Day inside the Zion Supermaket location. It was the largest size they had for $38. The cream was exactly what you'd expect for a Korean fresh cream cake but the cake was soooo dry. It was very disappointing that the cake wasn't moist like it normally is at other places. This was my first time buying something from here. The center frosting and peach were ice cold, so it was probably premade and frozen. The cream tasted good and fresh. We barely finished 1/4 of it and threw the rest away, which we never do but it was too dry to eat. I'm not one to write these type of reviews and maybe it was just this batch of cake inside of Zion Supermarket, but I don't think we will risk buying a cake here again, especially for a holiday party. read more

I'm from Nashville, TN but whenever I drive down to Atlanta with my family, we ALWAYS stop by here. In my opinion, they have the best korean pastries. The bread is always so fluffy and soft; in Nashville, if you try to buy korean pastries, 9 times out of 10 the korean pastries are way too dry and taste old. Ok, I'm a very visual person and the five stars goes mainly because of aesthetics. The layout of the store its definitely well thought out. The moment you walk in there are 3 rows of bakeries. Pastries on the right center and cakes to the left. The interior colors does gives the place character and the items hanging from the ceiling sets it apart from others. The prices are a little bit higher than the other bakeries but I guess you pay for a little more for having a better looking place. The drink.. I ordered an Ice soy Vanilla Latte and its great! The coffee its strong so I liked that, and they add just enough syrup so its not too sweet. I was going to order some pastries but man, I'm going to explode from lunch and then the jujube tea.. So most likely will stop by later on and get me some dessert after le dinner! The crowd was a mix of adults, elderly and teens. I'm guessing because it is located right next to the h-mart. I will be coming back again for the Vanilla Latte.. Also one of the few places I found that offered Soy as a sub for milk. read more

Among the Korean bakeries in the area, this serves by far the best quality coffee. Likewise, it is more expensive, but as someone who loves coffee and normally avoids ordering coffee drinks at Korean cafes, I'm just happy to finally have found one that seems to care about their beans. As for the pastries, they have an impressive variety, but nothing spectacularly different from similar places. At the very least, you can expect to find the basics in plentiful quantity. Love the atmosphere - spacious but cozy, large windows, chill music at a low volume, an entire rack of books and magazines, very clean. If I had to list one con, it would be the $5 card minimum and the sometimes lack of attention workers give to customers. read more

This review is based on their hand-dripped coffee. Yes, I'm biased if their coffee is not good. They did my drip coffee wrongly. No fresh-grind coffee beans, no pre-heat for Hario V60. I mean, come on, even I can make better coffee than you, yet you still charge me $3.79 + tax?! Better go to Orange coffee, and pay a little more. Their pastries are okay. You can always check their discounted(30%) items near the counter. No credit card allowed for less than $5 purchase. Most Korean bakeries are a little overpriced, but they do have a good presentation. read more
