This is the new bakery that recently replayed the White Windmill bakery in the Megamart shopping mall. It's huge first of all and offers a large variety. If you want a place that sells really cheap, pretty nice Korean breads with good deals, then it's this place. Not the the most aesthetic place bc the grocery aisles are next door so the lighting is austere from the warehouse effect and hustle and bustle of shoppers but a good place to grab some breads and go home to your fam. From the website: It is headed by Newton Shin, Hawaiian raised Korean native, who was named Southern California Restaurant Writers' Pastry Chef of the Year for 2013 and 2014 (winning over more than 4,000 candidates), said that Basquia Bakery will take up some 6,000 square feet of Mega Mart's 160,000-square foot store. What struck me immediately was the number of Swiss roll cakes that were being made when I entered. There's a special going on currently for 12$ a roll rather than the usual 18$ and the flavors are strawberry, mocha, and vanilla. Second was the prices- cheaper than Sweet Hut and definitely cheaper than most Korean bakeries around like Mozart and White Windmill. Each bread was like 2.50-3.50 each. Very affordable just like the rest of megamart and great place to buy large quantities of breads for a party/hang out. Most of the desserts are a fusion of euro-koran more so breads rather than pastries. If you want pastries, try Paris Baguette but if you want a place for breads, then this is your new place to go! There is a LARGE variety and in large quantities. I grabbed about 10 breads including a strawberry roll to sample the new bakery. If you want something on the sweeter end, try the red bean/green bean breads. Those tend to be super sweet in the world of asian baked goods. I got 2 of the cream filled caterpillar rolls- the one with the orange slices and soboro bread like was great with the nice bright flavor of the orange. The other caterpillar butter cream bread was typical with a very generous amount of butter cream. The soboro bread and the mocha are a great choice for those looking for a more buttery/nutty crisp flavor. There were a lot of pull bread options including a giant garlic cream cheese bread for only 6$ that could feed large numbers of people and other flat Korean pull breads. I didn't get them bc I couldn't finish it but they are cheap and large. Regarding the fruit flavored buns, this is where I would fall short of the 5 stars. I love raspberry flavors and got the raspberry bun- you can taste the raspberry but I wish there was a tang to it that would have given this dessert a brighter lift. It felt a little too heavy with cream and raspberry flavor but adding a hint of lemon juice for brightens would make this a more fruity dish. Same goes for the strawberry in the roll cakes. Excellent softness to the roll cake but the strawberry flavor was faint- almost wished it was plan butter cream with fresh strawberries or the strawberries had a hint of tang to it ti make this pillowy cake even more bright especially with summer months ahead. I think this place is heavy on its creams, good for sweets like mocha flavored but could offer some brighter tasting goods to lift the heaviness of creams on their breads.

Nice bakery inside mega mart. They serve delicious Korean baked goods and drinks. I like their misookgaru drink which is mixed grain drink. Their service is friendly and their prices are reasonable. 4 stars!

Overall We love this…read morebakery and would absolutely return. It feels like a thoughtful, quality driven spot that's doing something a little different: French style pastries with a Korean bakery influence, especially the lower sweetness level. Food and Menu This is a French bakery vibe with Korean style sensibilities (aka not a sugar bomb). Many items are intentionally less sweet, which we really appreciated. Their most popular item seemed to be the flan, and they also had other classic French style treats like financiers (pronounced "fee non syay" - or close enough to not embarrass yourself ). Everything we tried felt carefully made. Ingredients and Quality They emphasize organic ingredients and low sugar baking, and it shows. The baked goods taste clean, balanced, and not overly heavy. You can tell the focus is on ingredient quality and proper technique rather than just sweetness. Service and Experience Exceptional service. The woman at the front was genuinely kind and welcoming and took time to explain ingredients, quality, and even when certain desserts are at their best. That level of care made the experience feel personal and elevated. Price and Value Pricing felt pretty average for a specialty bakery, and the value is strong considering the organic, low sugar focus and overall quality. Deals and Discounts Good perk: after 4:30, they offer discounts. Items made yesterday or the day before were about 30% off, which is great if you want to try more items or stock up without paying full price. Would we return? Yes, 100%. If you like French pastries but prefer a less sweet, more balanced Korean bakery style, this place is a winner.
