My friend and I walked in on a Sunday evening for some tea. We got the Honey lemon tea and it came in a cute teapot with cute small cups. And we also got a Winter melon green tea. Both teas were delicious. I especially loved the wintermelon green tea. It wasn't too busy that evening so our orders came in promptly. My sincere apologies to snowflake Tea House. I somehow got my review mixed up with another establishment. I love the Honey Lemon tea as there is something that is so calming about it on a Saturday morning, that settles your nerves after a week of mental grind at work. I don't understand the hype around this place! I have had Snowflake Tea House in my bookmarks on Yelp for some tine now. I spent the day at Spa Land and wanted some dessert when I left. We arrived at the establishment on a Sunday evening around 9pm. It is easy to find, and surprisingly in the same shopping plaza as Sweet Hut Bakery. I would think that they are direct competitors. However, Snow Flake did not have a shortage of patrons during my visit. When we walked into the Tea house it was clear that this place is popular. The place was packed! We were greeted by a staff at the front. A staff basically pointed us to a table and another staff came over and placed menus on the table. The service is not anything to recommend. We asked our server about the desserts and he basically said I don't eat that junk! - he did not say this, However, that's what it felt like he wanted to say!! Despite his unwillingness to help us decide on what to order, we opted to try the strawberry toast. I think it took less than 5 minutes for our dessert to arrive at the table. I imagine the desserts are pre made and once you order they just go back and grab the one ordered. It came out too fast to be made to order. The taste- nothing special. I will say if you are looking for something that is not too sweet, this is an option for you. However , for the calories I would prefer something else. I will also say given that it is a tea house, I should return and give the tea a shot. I might enjoy that more than the dessert. Overall, I was just not impressed. The decor is a miss, the service is average, and the dessert is basic - despite the presentation being over the top. read more

Great place for Korean/Taiwanese shaved ice! The layers of ice that you see in the photo is what I normally expect from shaved ice or at least that degree of softness! Minimum crunching of ice! TLDR: top notch shaved ice, but be careful about your toppings because they are hit or miss! We got the following: Mango flavor ice with condensed milk and mango+mango jelly: the mango ice was nice and soft with the condensed milk pairing very well with it. The mango was somewhat sour and mango jelly was a nice texture but did not contribute much to flavor. Matcha red bean flavor ice with condensed milk, red bean, and mochi: very traditional ice flavor that was represented well! Red bean was not overly sweet which was refreshing because you can taste the red beans better. Mochi was rock hard with sugar rocks which was not good. Would recommend flavor with red beans but not the mochi. read more

Ordered a crepe and as someone who worked in a crepe restaurant, it was extremely disappointing... they just stuffed a scoop of ice cream into a crepe, I'll write my suggestion on how to make it not a cold soggy mess... the music eventually just cut off and it was just awkwardly quiet and the workers didn't notice cause of their AirPods Banana crepe: -Make crepe -Fold in half then spread the Nutella and add sliced banana -Fold the crepe to a triangle shape and place back on crepe spinner for a moment to heat -plate and make small indention on crepe to place ice cream -add syrup, powdered sugar, etc. I left two photos for a side by side comparison, hope this helps! read more

I was craving some good Bingsu, so stopped in the other day to check out their signature "Snow" Bingsu... First of all, I stopped in around 3:30 pm, and the place was basically empty, except maybe 1 table. There was also just this casual guy there, who happened to be the waiter/cashier (possibly manager/owner as well?)...and he had an unusual style of greeting and serving you. He was sort of sitting, facing the other direction, and sort of gestured me to get seated. I would have never guessed that he worked there otherwise lol. He was on top of things, so no big issue...but I thought it was very odd. The place itself was fairly spacious, and looked comfy enough, but somewhat retro in decor. Anyway, I ordered their Matcha Red Bean Bingsu with all sorts of heavenly toppings (I chose Mochi, Boba and Lychee)...and it was ALOT. Really, too much for me to handle...given that I wasn't even that hungry. Again, I just wanted to check out this place...though I had a big lunch prior to! Well, the Bingsu tasted amazing...as expected! Honestly, I've seen fancier presentations in various other places in Duluth (and other cities), but the cool thing about their Bingsu is that is that you can customize it to your liking...by adding the toppings of choice. Overall, it's a great place for Bingsu and other heavenly desserts. It's so great that there are so many options in Asian bakeries and cafes, let alone a ton of Asian restaurants, here in Duluth! This dessert place offers a variety of desserts such as honey toasts, crepes, and shaved ice that looked amazing on the menu. If you're also looking for something to drink, Snowflake also offers a variety of drinks - traditional hot teas, milk teas, smoothies, and more. The mixed fruit crepe was a nice refreshing dessert. Fruits were fresh and the crepe was nicely cooked. Everything that was in the crepe, the fruits, the ice cream, the sauce made for a harmonious dessert. The shaved ice was okay, but didn't deliver in presentation like the crepe did. The mochi tasted old like dried up gummy bears. I liked how the hot tea was presented in a glass teapot over a candle - very classy and posh. Overall, a great place to hangout and share a big dessert and have tea with. I think there's a time limit to how long you can spend due to the limited capacity enforcement. I will definitely return to try their other menu options. read more
