This is a really fun dessert spot to hang out at! Their snow is great and they have so many different flavors and toppings (mochi, lychee, etc) to choose from. I visited Snowflake Tea House on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 8 pm. First impressions: this place was very clean and took COVID precautions very seriously. Masks should always be worn unless eating. Social distancing and limited capacity were enforced. The cushioned chairs were very comfortable I could sit there for hours. This dessert place offers a variety of desserts such as honey toasts, crepes, and shaved ice that looked amazing on the menu. If you're also looking for something to drink, Snowflake also offers a variety of drinks - traditional hot teas, milk teas, smoothies, and more. The mixed fruit crepe was a nice refreshing dessert. Fruits were fresh and the crepe was nicely cooked. Everything that was in the crepe, the fruits, the ice cream, the sauce made for a harmonious dessert. The shaved ice was okay, but didn't deliver in presentation like the crepe did. The mochi tasted old like dried up gummy bears. I liked how the hot tea was presented in a glass teapot over a candle - very classy and posh. Overall, a great place to hangout and share a big dessert and have tea with. If I could give them zero stars, I would. We came in on Saturday evening, it wasn't too busy but not empty. The person in the front asked if we wanted to go or if it was for here. While it still tasted good, it was heavier than what we wanted and not what we expected. Racial discrimination!! I'm visiting Atlanta, from Los Angeles and went to SnowFlake tea house. The worker/owner had an extremely bad attitude from the beginning, she was rude from the get-go and her vibe was unfriendly. Did not care much about it cause we wanted to enjoy the dessert. She literally slammed our dessert bowl at our table and walked away, we still did not say anything. We are not confrontational people and I always give people benefit of doubt. We liked our dessert and I went up to the register to order two more items from the menu. The lady was eating her cherries on the table right next to the register. Her co-worker (who was extremely nice) asked her to take my order, not me! She came up to the register and stood there quiet with a rude face, did not even look at me (as if she is doing me a favor!) until I started talking. I wanted Matcha and Chocolate shaved ice, I was pointing at the menu too. She kept saying WHAT WHAT many times and I kept repeating my order at-least 4x. (Was it your airpod that was blocking my voice or your attitude? ) That is when I said (with a lower voice) "hey are you okay, you have not been very nice" and she replied loudly YOU KEEP SAYING CHOKY MATA (chocolate, match) CHOKY MATA WHAT DO YOU WANT? How hard was it to understand when I was also pointing out my order at the menu the same time? What happened to basics of customer service? We did not go in there expecting a vip service, it's a dessert shop so atleast you can give your customer BASIC ASSISTANCE! I don't care about the screaming part, i probably would not even have recorded or posted if she had ONLY screamed, a bad review would have been enough but making racist comment is unacceptable. If anyone is thinking that there was more to this, then absolutely not even 1% more to what I have written here. The place probably has camera, the BBB can access the footage and review the entire event and confirm EVERYTHING! I did not make any racist comments the WHOLE TIME (thats not what I do) nor screamed at her until she got LOUD. I did make sure to let her know that she had a bad attitude and that is what triggered her! What happened to the way she was treating us the entire time? Would that not trigger anyone? We still stayed quiet until it became obvious. Business owners/employees like her need to learn basics of treating people/customers, no BAD DAY/TRIGGER justifies the comments she made. We had the "macaroons party" one and it's actually macarons, not macaroons if anyone is wondering. Prices can be seen in the menu I'm posting. I also had lavender milk tea which was perfect, sweet with a strong but not overwhelming lavender flavor. They give you 3 macarons, 3 scoops of ice cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, whipped cream, and a ton of toast for like $12 so it's very well priced. I've been here several times but just got around to writing a review. It's been around for awhile almost as long as sweet hut has been next door. There is a Stretch of dessert and coffee places in the shopping center but it still gets a pretty decent amount of foot traffic. Parking is never an issue because the parking lot is big enough for all the customers in this retail shopping center. There has been times where we have gone at peak hours and had to wait for a seat. And then other times that we've gone where there was nobody. It's a very casual place. The decorations look kind of old and cheap. They probably need to do some updating. Their desserts and drinks here are actually very affordable. And everything taste pretty decent. They have a huge menu so there's something for everyone. However since it is a dessert place things can be a little on the sweeter side then your liking. Therefore just make sure you ask and they may suggest you something that will satisfy your taste. They could also adjust on all the extra sweet syrups that they add. My only go to drink here is there hot tea that comes in a tea pot and multiple cups to share. The rest of their drinks to me taste very artificial and usually come in a skinny weird shape glass that can't hold that much beverage. that's why I prefer the hotties because it's big enough to share and healthier. this time we got the Goji berry chrysanthemum hot tea. They actually add sugar to it already so it's on the sweeter side. My friends didn't like that because they're used to not adding sugar to their hot tea. However I didn't mind it either way. I usually don't like to get their ice cream tower on bread because that's literally what it is. "Ice cream on sweet bread" but my friends wanted to try it. You can choose different flavors of ice cream and they semi-toast the bread. But because the bread is so big and thick it's just too much carbs for me and it doesn't taste that crispy throughout. It's more for presentation. I much prefer the more thin sliced butter toast breads you get at the other bakeries. However if you were to get this at some touristy place would easily be 20$+. The shaved ice Also comes in a lot of different flavors as well. The second rule of Snowflake is, you order Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The third rule of Snowflake - if someone yells "stop!", goes limp, or tapiocas out, the drink is finished. Fourth rule: only two Bubble Teas per person. Fifth rule: one Boba at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: the bobas are tapiocas. Guys - No shirt, girls - no shoes, no bursting boba crap. Seventh rule: drinks will last as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Snowflake, you have to order Brown Sugar Milk Tea. One of the busiest places in all of the Chinatown region of Atlanta and one of my favourite places to get boba in the Deep South. They have excellent brown sugar milk tea - which we all know is the best flavour of milk tea anyway. They have some good fruit drinks too, which you can get after you order 17 of their Brown Sugar Milk Teas, or something, or something, or something. There's a reason they are always packed out the door - and if you are into people watching there is really no better place to do it in and around the extensive C-Town burbs, other than Sweet Hut, on a weekend night. Good luck waiting for a table though. And yes, you should know, this is a sit-down, wait-staff, table-ordering place, not your usual Boba counter-service. And it's enormous, like a ballroom. This is because it's an Asian Dessert Cafe, as much as a Boba shop, and if you've been to those before, you know it's a little fancier than your usual Boba places, and a little more geared towards the desserts. But feel free to sit and drink Boba, too. A lot of people do. And it's the best stuff on their menu. And when I come to Snowflake, I see all this potential, and I see it squandered. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables - slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy sh*t we don't need. One of the best, unique desserts I've had in a long time. The strawberry toast thing in the picture was amazing. Basically they take half a loaf of dense bread, carve out the inside into squares, butter and toast them, then stuff it back in, adding scoops of shaved ice and strawberries on it. I am DEFINITELY going to be back here to have another one of these. However, it's enormous so I will need to find a quartet to enjoy this with. I should also mention the hot milk teas are delicious, too. You need to stop in and try this place. It's tucked away so it's hard to see, but you'll be fine if you map it out. Snowflake tea house is one of the best teahouses I have had the privilege of trying in the US. It runs a close second to Saints Alp in the East Village, which is no more. My obsession is their Rose Earl Grey Milk Tea, which is a large icy glass of floral milky delight, best paired with their Sweet Butter thick cut brick toast. The tea is so dark and rich that it can only be comparable to a dark coffee with milk. Many customers visit for their famous thinly folded layers of shaved ice dessert, hence their namesake. But, I visit for their richly brewed teas and always order a large with extra tapioca. Other recommendations: Ti Kwan Yin Oolong Tea with milk--- where the bitter, metallic oolong flavor pairs well with the mellow milky flavor. Fresh Fruit Teas--- these come with a black tea or green tea base and chopped fresh fruit, served hot or cold. Both are excellent. Massive Toast Bowl--- basically, half a loaf of bread that is hollowed out and toasted. Then, filled with ice cream and sweet butter toast with various toppings. Order a large for $1 more.
