El cafe by la Abuela was SUCH A CUTE CAFE! the food was amazing and I wish I could have tried more. The wafers were light and airy with a perfect balance of flavors with the sweet dolce de la he and the tart strawberries. We also had a savory crepe that was amazing. The environment here was amazing and felt relaxed. The service was very fast and the staff was kind. I love the decor and would love going back again

the ambiance was amazing the decor was so cute but I noticed we did not get greeted as other people there and I had to walk up and get my own menu as other people got walked to their table and handed a menu it took the waitress about 10 minutes to come even though they were standing and waiting even talking amongst themselves. They only loosened up when they realized I spoke Spanish too. The milkshake I ordered was the vanilla milkshake and I told our waitress "for here" but she gave it to us in a to go cup but I didn't mind. The milkshake was okay the only flavor was the marshmallows on top but other than that me and my boyfriend both agreed it tasted like Pedialyte. Overall I would come back but maybe I would try the food next time instead of any milkshakes or beverages

We came in at approximately 8:35PM, just in time to order for a dine-in experience. The cashier was a helpful young woman and everyone was very friendly. After we ordered, I proceeded to take pictures and some video of the store and of them making the crepes. Even though I made the lady doing the batter nervous on the first crepe, she persisted and was able to flip the other 2 successfully and without hesitation. I watched as the hand-cut every piece of fruit and even saw that the whipped cream was made in-store (best kind). The fresh-cut strawberries were sweet, juicy, and slightly tart. Perfect! The bananas weren't mealy and had plenty of flavor. The whipped cream had depth and was fluffy and not overly sweet. They actually added powdered sugar over the top of the crepes with drizzles of either caramel (delis, as I can attest) or chocolate sauce. The crepes were still warm while the fruit was still cold and the ice cream stayed frozen while we ate them too! While the workspaces were not at all clean and were covered in chocolate, cream, and fruit juice smears all over the place, it honestly didn't really bother me. However, I know it will bother some. If you have allergies or are worried about cross-contamination, this might now be the place for you. These are no Japanese-level crepes, but they happen to be one of the only fresh crepe places in the OTP North "Atlanta" area. I mean- they're in Duluth. The only other places that even offer crepes are not even listed on Yelp because they are individual sellers as opposed to full-on businesses. The place was pretty busy and had music. It was lit with somewhat harsh fluorescent lights, and the signage was a bit difficult because outside it says "Crepes and Fresas", but the door and inside says Postres and Bakery". I asked about this and they said because they are all under the "La Abuela" business umbrella, the bakery and crepes businesses were combined into 1 shop. I took one because of the cleanliness issue, but the crepes were delicious, so they're getting a good score from me. Give them a shot and see what you think!

Absolutely loved this spot! This cafe is a dreamy pink paradise -- the decor is stunning, with beautiful floral arrangements, pink chairs, and cozy vibes all around. The atmosphere is super aesthetic and perfect for hanging out with friends or snapping some cute pics . We ordered crepes with Nutella, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a cherry on top -- they were delicious and beautifully presented. The small ice cream dish on the side was a nice touch too. The portions were just right and everything tasted fresh. Service was friendly and quick. I also appreciated the little details -- from the gold cutlery to the marble tables -- it all felt very well thought out. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun, Instagram-worthy dessert cafe with great food!

I shared a savory crepe and a wafer desert with 3 other friends as we weren't too hungry.

I like the interior of the cafe as it reminds me a bit of Stylenanda in Korea (pink!). I can't speak on the drinks, only the pastries and cakes, and yeah, they're good! Probably shouldn't leave any pastries with fruit longer than a few hours since it'll get soggy though. We had a few birthdays to celebrate, and Confections was the go-to choice to for a lot of people this year. Not too sweet cream with fruit and fluffy cake, it was perfect for many in our group. The only cake I would not recommend that I've tried would be the Dubai chocolate cake. Not only is it more expensive, it's smaller than the other offered cakes. As a cake, it doesn't quite match up to Dubai chocolate strawberry cups that you can get elsewhere. The kunafa loses its crispiness being sandwiched between cake, and there isn't much pistachio flavor. I would've expected pistachio cream, but there really wasn't any on this cake. There are more strawberries on the strawberry cream cake, which fair, makes sense, but the Dubai cake wasn't as amazing as it sounded. Just tall. Good thing we had another cake from Confections that day since it was a joint birthday.

Things you should know: I. PARKING…read more Confections Bakery & Cafe is within a plaza and shares a free public parking lot with the adjacent businesses directly out front. Easy. II. SERVICE This bakery allows a cake reservation for special occasions as well as a self-service oven for pastries you want to heat up and enjoy while dining in. III. QUALITY Competitive with surrounding bakeries. They don't disappoint. IV. CAPACITY Less busy on week days during business hours. There's outlets everywhere along the walls and so it's an ideal location to knock out work in peace.

We walked into a small, straightforward space where what stood out immediately was the variety of pastries and baked goods lined up throughout the counter. The setup felt more like a grab-and-go spot, but there were enough interesting items that it made sense to slow down and actually look through what they offered. The main draw here is the bread selection. We spotted items like milk bread, pineapple buns, mochi-based pastries, and savory breads such as pork floss buns, all of which felt freshly made and rotated quickly depending on the day. The milk bread in particular stood out for its soft texture and rich flavor, while the sweeter items leaned more subtle rather than overly sugary. It was the kind of place where we ended up picking a few different things because it was hard to settle on just one. There were also a few refrigerated and specialty items like tarts and filled pastries, which added a bit more variety beyond the standard bakery selection. Some items felt more premium than others, and pricing varied depending on what we picked, but the overall focus was clearly on soft breads and Asian-style baked goods rather than desserts or café-style sweets. The atmosphere was simple and functional since it was inside a supermarket food court area. It was not really designed for sitting and lingering, but the space was clean and organized enough to quickly browse and make a selection. Service was straightforward, and in some cases we were able to sample items before buying, which helped when deciding between different breads. Overall, Shokku Bakery is a solid stop if you are already in the area and want fresh Japanese-style baked goods. It is not a destination bakery in terms of ambiance, but the quality of the breads and variety of options make it worth visiting for a quick pick-up, especially if you enjoy soft milk bread and classic Asian bakery items.

And they are so so much better. Soon's Bakery is one of those bakeries - with fun and viral options like the sweet potato bread (mochi-like texture), sweet corn bread and cream donuts, that you wouldn't find at the classic Korean bakeries. I'm also a big fan of their cookies - with my personal favorite, the earl grey. I'm unsure if they still have their brunch menu, but I also really loved their soufflé pancakes. I'm also impressed with their coffee options - much better than the average Korean bakery. Recently tried the matcha cream latte which was pretty much perfect. Creamy iced latte topped with unsweetened matcha cream - perfect pick-me-up. Overall a pretty quiet spot to grab a sweet treat and a coffee in a newly renovated cafe.
