The person that I talked to on the phone to make the appt didn't sound all that with it either, probably the same air-headed irresponsible person. I say this because the person I talked to today, totally disregarded what I told her, didn't try to look into it, and looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. I own my own business and regularly use Google to block time off of my work schedule as well as to keep track of appointments because if I did this to a customer, I would probably lose business as they have. I was referred to Dr. Erik Ostler (an associate of Dr. Martinez) for a Glaucoma exam. Turns out I…read morehave it due to cataracts and as a result have nerve damage in one eye. Dr. Ostler explained how cataracts can increase pressure on your eye and suggested cataract surgery which made me FREAK OUT, but after his calm explanation of the procedure and answers to all my questions I booked my surgery. I now call it more of a procedure. You're still awake, but really, really relaxed and pain free. 10-15 minutes then Bam, you're in recovery sipping juice, coke, 7-up whatever - awake but don't drive unless you want to get pulled over by your local enforcement officer. Rest the rest of the day and don't FREAK OUT if your eye is cloudy or blurry. It clears. Just follow Dr. Ostler's instructions. I promise you it's OK. My surgery (procedure) was yesterday and I'm great! YOU WILL BE TOO!

I was told he'd return from his vacation in 11 days. Funny, as I hung up, I realized they didn't even offer me a referral to another eye doctor. I called right back, I got a different person to speak with and she graciously offered me a referral to see Erik M. Ostler, M.D. I called his office and asked if I could make an appointment for tomorrow or any day this week. They asked me if I could come in today at 3:30pm. I looked at the clock in my Jeep and it read 2:30pm. As I tried to compose myself from the sudden shock of being told I could come right in, I said yes, I'll be right there, thank you so much! After a short wait in the waiting room my wife and I were taken back to an exam room. Lauren was so welcoming. She's not your typical nurse's assistant. She was extraordinarily kind and genuinely compassionate. With the way the World spins today, Lauren was a breathe of fresh air. The Golden Rule applies here and she's positively the perfect spokesperson to sell us all on it. She has a remarkable and cheerful attitude! Dr. Erik came in with an attitude that followed Lauren's. Extremely well spoken, kind and articulate. He listened to me and after a thorough examination, a treatment plan was agreed upon. A follow up will be with him tomorrow. I think I've just found my new eye doctor. Thank you Dr. Erik and Lauren. You're both miles above the bar that is set in most doctors offices here in Nampa. Well done! I can't thank you enough for squeezing me in same day, same hour. I was blown away!

I was so impressed I became obsessed with getting new glasses and prior to moving here I became a "Eyerwear enthusiast" and purchased several pair..plus sending several family and friends. The service was very good and then I moved to Nampa and refused to go to the Nampa Stanton optical and continued to buy more glasses when I went to Vancouver every March and October. NEVER had an issue aside from my husband thinking I had become a full-blown frame fanatic....the manager from Vancouver Stanton moved to Nampa store, where I have continued to purchase a few new pair of glasses. I have several pair of high end glasses...Prada, Coach, Ray Band, Gucci and other pairs from Europe...The glasses I have from Stanton are good quality, fun and very stylish. Any issues I have had are quickly resolved and I appreciate their service and all glasses are guaranteed and they stand behind that guarantee. Yes, sometimes they are very busy and you do need to wait. I had to wait at my regular doctor's office as well. It is worth it! You save so much. The Nampa location is very busy and the service is just as good as Vancouver location. There are rude folks everywhere. Perhaps a bad day. We never know what someone is experiencing. I hate to see bad reviews for Stanton because someone had to wait or was offended by a "rude" employee. You save a great deal of money, good quality and good service.
