The parking code you'll need. For 2 hours was $6.00 Parking Lots in the area cost $60 on game day.

The food service and ambience were all great. This was our first time visiting the Trappeze pub. It was game day, Georgia versus Tennessee State. Tennessee got stomped. The pastrami Reuben sandwich was and the tabouli salad was pretty good. The tabouli salad was made differently than I remembered tabouli, but it was pretty good. We sat in the new seating area. The waitress said was done within the last year. The bar and restaurant were really nice with all the different seating areas they had available. The hamburgers and other food they had looked really good and we're sure to go back another time.

In town in Athens for a show at the 40 Watt Club and we were meeting a friend of mine for dinner beforehand. He lives in the area(ish) and recommended Trappeze Pub as a soliding dining option that is also very close to the venue and, having had a meal there, I can now corroborate that assessment. The space is quite big which made it super easy for us to grab a table. We were seated in a section of the restaurant with a bunch of booths so it was nice to have a quieter space where we could catch up with our friend and have a nice meal. For my dish I went with the grilled cheese BLT (muenster cheese with bacon, tomato, arugula and lemon thyme vinaigrette grilled on sourdough) and fries and I quite liked it! Nothing fancy but it was good and and I would absolutely try it again. Currently rocking the sober life so I can't speak to their beer line up personally but the menu did look quite robust! And as someone not drinking I must also recommend their root beer. Great casual spot perfect for a bite, a hang, or all of the above when hanging out around town.

Steak frites

While visiting Athens on a work trip, I was craving a good meal. A friend suggested Trappeze, mentioning it was one of the best restaurants in the area. I was sat in the bar area. The server/bartender was awesome, very attentive. I got a glass of wine, french onion soup and the steak frites. Everything was delicious. The steak was a nice size and the blue cheese-truffle fries were very yummy. Next time I'm in the area I'll be back to order the same meal!

Bangers and mash

Good food and drinks. Inside is modern and clean. Got the mash and bangers and it was a ton of mash potatoes and not a lot of duck sausage. Waitress was a little slow for how quiet the place was. Also had a waiter walk in to the women's bathroom without knocking ... that was really weird. He left upon seeing me hence how I know it was a mistake. Still odd and uncomfortable.

Athens, what a great little town we were directed to trapeze pub by the Hotel clerk. We received it right away. Of course it's only Tuesday. We had a wonderful friendly, bubbly, attentive, waitress named Riley. She met all our needs. My husband had the Panko parmesan crusted chicken with beer mustard, mashed Yukon golds and grilled broccoli. I had the grilled mahi-mahi with Spicy pomegranate and Berlinerweiss glaze with Gouda grits and grilled broccoli-very good and cooked perfectly. Would definitely come back.

I came for a rehearsal dinner. We had a private room and the food was buffet style. The appetizers were sliders, buffalo chicken dip, veggies, and fries. The main course was salmon, Mac and cheese, meat, (looked like a roast), salad, rolls, and roasted potatoes. There were also mixed drinks. The food was good except for the mac and cheese. It was lacking flavor. The staff was friendly and no one had any complaints. I don't like in Athens but if I had the opportunity, I would give them another try.

Red dragon cheese plate

I ordered a Red Dragon Cheese Plate. It was delicious! One of the cheeses was better (I believe it was the paler one). Lots of variety, and I liked the jam on the board, too. Service was fine, ambiance was pretty lowkey.

Not exactly blue cheese fries, but damn good fries with some cheese droppings?

Let's start with the service at the bar - phenomenal! I'll likely massacre the spellings here, but Nico and Izland were amazing! Nico was fairly new, but had a great spin on cocktails and humored me taking a gin & jam drink and sub bourbon since I don't like gin, and it was fantastic to the point I was disappointed I didn't make it back over the weekend for another. We had a burger and some bar food, which is pretty much our jam. The blue cheese fries left a tad to be desired as I am accustomed to more cheese and likely a sauce, but the fries themselves were tasty and it came with a choice of dipping sauce, so no trauma. The jam with the pimento cheese was the star of the show (hence the drink order). Now the true test to a restaurant is how they handle it when something goes wrong, and someone got distracted and the lamb burger was nearly a hockey puck when it came out. Nico was on it, took it back to the kitchen with all the apologies and we were presented with a replacement that was perfectly cooked. It was super tasty with the onions and toppings to the point that we didn't even care there was not a gluten free option. Bathrooms were immaculate, as was everything, and the bar area very inviting. It's one of those menus where anyone can find something and will absolutely be a go to upon our next return. Thanks guys!!

Y'all have TV so we can watch the Georgia Bulldogs?

Yes, we have TV coverage throughout the dining room!

Are small (pug) dogs allowed with outdoor eating?

Hi Susie! Of course, we love dogs here! While we only allow service animals inside, our patio is open to dogs of all shapes and sizes. Hope to see you soon, cheers!

Is it impossible to get a table in the restaurant on a Friday night if you don't have a reservation?? Went to go make a reservation for tomorrow but I was too late so wondering if I should just stop by and try anyways?

In my experience, not impossible! I went a couple of Fridays ago and didn't have a reservation. We went around 7. I've been many times and it's been busy, but have never had to wait. I highly recommend going-- it's great.

How late is the kitchen open?

The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday evenings, and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday!

Any happy hours?

Hi Jesse! We currently offer a $2 half pour of a featured beer Monday through Friday until 3:30pm as well as brunch drink specials on Sundays from 11am until 3:30pm!…

We had some time for a few beers before an event in the area and found ourselves at Good Word. The feel is both upscale and casual, with the idea of a public house being front and center in its presentation. The bar is center stage, displaying a deep bar and a pretty big brew lineup. We tried a few samples, and eventually settled on a few different styles. All were delicious. Most breweries have a couple good ones, some mid, and some meh, but all of the beers we tried here were great. The same could not be said about the service, we had two bartenders, the first was friendly and helpful, the second not so much. If the attitude was better behind the bar, this would have been a 5 star review. They have a full bar, and we ordered.espresso martinis as our final round, well done and yummy. Would definitely return when back in the area, and hopefully be served by our first bartender.

Ended up using the back of the booth for our water bottle and condiments and still struggled for space. Buffalo wings were good but not exactly Buffalo. No buttery spicy hot sauce. It was more peppery than buffalo. Wings were cooked perfectly though Reuben is excellent as are the jalapeno Mac bites. Cheese dip was also excellent but we (and the table next to us) had to ask for more chips. Not portioned terribly well. Beer options were very slim (2 on tap from what it gathered). I'm sure there were plenty of bottled options but draft was disappointing. We ordered the ale but they tapped out and brought us brown ale. At 5pm...only a brown and stout on tap. Overall, it was a pretty middling experience but the food was good and they offer a military appreciation discount.

Our son loves the fried green bean appetizer but eats most of it himself so we hardly ever get to enjoy it. Once again the breading is light resembling a panko type crust so you aren't just eating deep fried objects. We've tried numerous other appetizers and so far nothing has been a let down.
