Had a great experience at Crypto! We started right on time for our booking. I like how modern this…read moreescape room is, compared to other places. You have your own lockers inside your escape room rather than the typical lockers outside in the lobby. The room was equipped with a TV and buttons on the side of the wall to call for hints or for the TV to show you your next hint. Love how advanced this feature was, compared to your traditional walkie-talkie hints. We did the Kilgore Cabin room. The room felt like a 3-4/5 difficulty. The puzzles got progressively harder throughout. This room has a warning. Scare Factor: Scary moments and atmosphere. Warning: Contains themes and special effects that some players may find scary. Puzzles were all unique and very interactive. We really enjoyed the multiple rooms within this one escape room. Price per person was $38. Staff were really nice and showed us how to complete the room in the end (we weren't able to escape). Overall, highly recommend and we will be back to try out the other rooms!

Highlights - immersive themed rooms, top notch decor - hints on prompt screen are clear and change with your progress - lighting was right/enough to showcase which area was being focused and dark on others not in play yet. - no key locks or combination locks - success photo stage is automated and complimentary - your stuff/jackets are kept in your escape room with you. Just ok - washrooms are down the hall from entrance, shared with building. 10 second stroll - they sell canned drinks and popsicles - no complimentary board games - no birthday discount/promos We broke out of Shipwreck and below zero. Below zero showed some scariness on their site. It's contained and you are safe, no live actors, nothing will touch you. The suspense was light and done well, pretty sure most can guess when near the end to expect it. My kids would have loved it! Bring an engineer friend for this one, puzzles are a certain style. Shipwreck is so neat! Puzzles are very unique and haven't seen some of these puzzles at other locations before. Would love to gush about them, the puzzle theme is just perfect! They won an award for this escape room and it's well deserved! All puzzles worked properly, timing was good. We did bump a door which tripped the magnets to open(fire safety) and called the attendant. She was really helpful in stalling our time while she reset it back as it was a necessary step. Rooms are big enough, lighting was enough for an older crowd. Bring reading glasses if you kinda need them, as that slowed a team mate down and stalled a puzzle solving situation. Check your friends first for colour blindness, pink or purple? Red or brown? You're kidding me it's orange?? Also surprised we didn't over hear much noise from other rooms. At another place, there was always screaming next door which got annoying quick. Top 3, give it a try, this is a good one

The last person charged was charged properly as he realized his mistake but did not fix it even thought he knew what he did. One mechanical aspect failed to deploy, necessitating a staff member to enter the room and facilitate a short cut. They blamed the previous group, but in this field, all the stuff has to work 100% of the time, or else it truly is a diminished experience. Puzzles were ranged from simple to abstract, and some were kind of innovative. Overall, a fun experience, just a little underwhelming

We went during Christmas break with my cousin and our kids and were able to book on the same day. We played the pirate-themed game Pirate Plague (45 minutes, 2-6 players), which was fun and immersive. The goal was to work together through different levels to solve puzzles & eventually sink the opposing pirate ship. We didn't fully finish the mission (got to about 93%), but everyone still had a great time. It was about $41 per person after tax, which felt reasonable. Overall, a fun group activity and a great option if you've tried VR or escape rooms before but never both together.

We picked a mix of four games for an hour, and my fav was the one where we had to defend our base from a zombie invasion. A close second was a game similar to Overcooked, though we were absolutely terrible at it. We also played a few shooting games, one where we protecting our base with arrows and another where we split into teams of two to battle each other out with guns. The team battle wasn't as fun with an odd number of players, so next time, I'd probably swap it for a different game or replay the existing ones. The hour flew by, and I'd highly recommend this as a group activity. Plus, while you wait for your turn or after you're done, there's jitz and board games in the waiting area to keep the fun going.

Just a top-tier escape room experience with some of the highest production value. My group and I did Hong Kong After Dark. It was a 2 hour escape room and about $70 per person. It'll be one of my most memorable experiences just based on how amazing the set looked. The puzzles were complex, engaging, and fit into the story so well. You can tell the people running the place are super passionate about creating the best escape room experience. We did have a slight hiccup where the room didn't reset halfway through. We waltzed through a door and everything was already unlocked and lit up. Staff were on top of it though and immediately came in and fixed it. Everything proceeded smoothly afterwards. I've done other rooms before in both locations, a long time ago though. I remember them all being extremely detailed and fun but this one might be one of my favourites yet.

Omventure is Toronto's premium escape rooms and board game cafe. They have 3 locations…read more(Mississauga, Scarborough, and Markham), where this particular location is located in Markham, near Woodbine and Esna Park Drive. The entrance of Omventure is somewhat hidden where it faces the back of a big building housing several different businesses (mainly restaurants). A great place for kids, teens, families, as well as young adults, the space houses a variety of escape rooms with different difficulty levels, where there is a suggested number of people needed per room. Depending on the difficulty of the escape room, you are given either 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min to solve or escape the room. You are able to book your escape room ahead of time, which is highly recommended. They do have family and kid friendly escape rooms available as well. Also, the use of phones is not allowed when you play the escape rooms - if you do decide to bring your phone into the escape room and use it, you can cause your time in the escape room to end early (they have security footage throughout the rooms). This location also has an expansive board game area with many large tables and many games as well as a cafe selling bubble tea and snacks. There is also a gaming area with video game consoles as well. My party of 4 stopped by Omventure on a Saturday evening where we had booked the escape room "Kingdom of Cats" (60 min, 3/5 difficulty, best for 3-8 people). Upon entering, you pay at the counter where you can get discounts if you follow them on social media or if it is your birthday. Once ready, your belongings are placed in a single locker and you are asked to watch a video explaining the rules of the escape room. Staff also provide you with a walkie talkie where you can ask for unlimited hints if you are really stuck. Afterwards, staff lead you to your particular escape room. My party and I managed finish the "Kingdom of Cats" escape room in the allotted time, although we had to ask staff twice as we were stuck with what to do next. This particular escape room required us to solve puzzles and riddles while paying attention to our surroundings. There was a bit of crawling as we headed to at least 4 different rooms. It may seem confusing where to begin at first when you are placed in the room but with teamwork and communication, you end up figuring out what to do to move to the next step. This particular escape room isn't scary, but it is kid friendly and fun. The 60 min really flew by just like that as we had to use our brains in order to figure things out. I haven't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was really nicely designed with lots of details throughout. Moving through the different rooms was pretty cool and finding the clues and working as a team together allowed us to escape and finish. After we were finished with the escape room, staff came to get us and took our picture on the stage where we could choose different boards to hold up. Nice touch as a souvenir of the fun time you had while you were there. For an additional fee you can also play as many board games if you'd like, but we decided not to. Overall, a fun escape room adventure for everyone! Would love to try the more difficult and scary ones next time. Staff were great and the facilities were well maintained where the rooms very detailed. Great option to have a fun time with family or friends.

No combo locks, they have improved here since their starting years. Discount for back to back games. Long: My group has done almost 30 escape rooms and we're looking for new places to try. One friend had been here when they first opened and wasn't overly impressed. The front area does not look finished, and makes you wonder of quality in the escape rooms. It still has that look of converted office ambiance and needs a makeover for sure! Game rooms: Loved it! Though this separated our group; we broke out with time to spare despite the difficulty level, which makes one want another puzzle to make it harder, or were we just good at this now? Loved the theme, story line and quality of puzzles, no more combo locks or markers on wall but really well thought out puzzles. Really liked each room with their unique challenges. Lighting was perfect, no need for flashlights, music was right for room themes and couldn't hear the ones next to you. If you need a cheat, you push the wall button that calls your cell phone. The employees were friendly enough and waiting when we broke out. They sell a few canned beverages and have an automated camera for group photos you can email yourself. The rooms were great, will go back to try the rest. The front foyer ambience needs to be improved somehow, I think they splurged the budget into the game rooms. So don't let that fool you.

The staff said most people only make it half way through the game, then they invite you to either pay the full price and book again another day OR just have a staff explain the rest. Basically they make it so hard that you can't complete it, let alone in 1hr, so that you'll have to pay and come back again to finish it. Seems like a Money grab.
