You have your own lockers inside your escape room rather than the typical lockers outside in the lobby. The room was equipped with a TV and buttons on the side of the wall to call for hints or for the TV to show you your next hint. Love how advanced this feature was, compared to your traditional walkie-talkie hints. We did the Kilgore Cabin room. The room felt like a 3-4/5 difficulty. The puzzles got progressively harder throughout. This room has a warning. Scare Factor: Scary moments and atmosphere. Warning: Contains themes and special effects that some players may find scary. Puzzles were all unique and very interactive. We really enjoyed the multiple rooms within this one escape room. Price per person was $38. Staff were really nice and showed us how to complete the room in the end (we weren't able to escape). Overall, highly recommend and we will be back to try out the other rooms!

Highlights - immersive themed rooms, top notch decor - hints on prompt screen are clear and change with your progress - lighting was right/enough to showcase which area was being focused and dark on others not in play yet. - no key locks or combination locks - success photo stage is automated and complimentary - your stuff/jackets are kept in your escape room with you. Just ok - washrooms are down the hall from entrance, shared with building. 10 second stroll - they sell canned drinks and popsicles - no complimentary board games - no birthday discount/promos We broke out of Shipwreck and below zero. Below zero showed some scariness on their site. It's contained and you are safe, no live actors, nothing will touch you. The suspense was light and done well, pretty sure most can guess when near the end to expect it. My kids would have loved it! Bring an engineer friend for this one, puzzles are a certain style. Shipwreck is so neat! Puzzles are very unique and haven't seen some of these puzzles at other locations before. Would love to gush about them, the puzzle theme is just perfect! They won an award for this escape room and it's well deserved! All puzzles worked properly, timing was good. We did bump a door which tripped the magnets to open(fire safety) and called the attendant. She was really helpful in stalling our time while she reset it back as it was a necessary step. Rooms are big enough, lighting was enough for an older crowd. Bring reading glasses if you kinda need them, as that slowed a team mate down and stalled a puzzle solving situation. Check your friends first for colour blindness, pink or purple? Red or brown? You're kidding me it's orange?? Also surprised we didn't over hear much noise from other rooms. At another place, there was always screaming next door which got annoying quick. Top 3, give it a try, this is a good one

My favourite Escape Room!…read more I haven't done many Escape Rooms but Looking Glass Adventures exceeded my expectations. We were a party of 5 and chose to do the "It Came From the Attic!" which is 1hr long. We called and made a same-day reservation for 10:30pm. Even though we were one of the last groups of the night, the staff were very kind, patient, and lively. Once you step inside the main entrance the decor and ambience is very unique and matches the Escape Room vibes. For the escape room itself, the props, music, lighting, and even the scent was very cool and unique. I appreciate how you could use the telephone inside the escape room to ask for hints when you're stuck or stumped. I do plan on coming back and trying out their other escape rooms.

The Puzzles We ended up doing two because we had such a good time. We did the Amun Ra room and the Wilshire puzzle. They were engaging and well thought out and had us working together to communicate our findings and surroundings. The production of each room and immersiveness were great. Sometimes the puzzles didn't work PERFECTLY, but the staff were quick to correct it if things didn't work well which was rare The Service The staff were fantastic . All were friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The team was clear with the rules and expectations of each room. Follow the rules and you will have fun. The Value It's just under $40 for each person playing and each room with the minimum of 4 participants is a private booking. I really enjoyed this as I got to work with people I knew and could work off their energies as well. It's worth the money and it's time and money well spent. I'm looking forward to trying the Steampunk room as well as the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens room. I would 100% recommend this place and can't wait to go again. I can't recommend it enough!

Oshawa Escape Room staff were nice, approachable and funny! They are lively when doing the intro speech and helping to take your photos! Having played numerous escape rooms throughout these years, I have to be honest and compare apple to apples. That being said, Oshawa Escape Room was average. As a group of 6 (P.S. most of us are experienced escape room players), we played the Privet Drive room (of course Harry Potter was the main reason). Everything was all in just one room and all the puzzles were revolving around combination locks. As a result, our group didnt feel there was anything special, different or technology-driven. Likewise, the quality of props and room design was not too good - perhaps back when they opened it was better built. So the concept wasn't bad but it didnt truly give that interactive escape room excitement some other places had, especially when we were expecting more wizard and Harry Potter references. Overall, it's good for starters who haven't done escape rooms and around Oshawa. I also felt for the experience within the room, at $30/person it was little pricey.

This was my first time doing an escape room (though it wasn't the first time for some of the others) so I didn't know what to expect and I was a tad nervous that I wouldn't be able to solve any of the puzzles. Long story short and in an effort not to give away any clues or hints, my friends and I had a blast! The puzzles were tricky, but not too tricky; and while the Harry Potter theme was definitely cool, you don't need a thorough history of the story to be able to figure things out. Would definitely want to come back here the next time I'm in town to try another escape room - the CSI one was recommended by the front desk ;)

Just a top-tier escape room experience with some of the highest production value. My group and I did Hong Kong After Dark. It was a 2 hour escape room and about $70 per person. It'll be one of my most memorable experiences just based on how amazing the set looked. The puzzles were complex, engaging, and fit into the story so well. You can tell the people running the place are super passionate about creating the best escape room experience. We did have a slight hiccup where the room didn't reset halfway through. We waltzed through a door and everything was already unlocked and lit up. Staff were on top of it though and immediately came in and fixed it. Everything proceeded smoothly afterwards. I've done other rooms before in both locations, a long time ago though. I remember them all being extremely detailed and fun but this one might be one of my favourites yet.

The entrance of Omventure is somewhat hidden where it faces the back of a big building housing several different businesses (mainly restaurants). A great place for kids, teens, families, as well as young adults, the space houses a variety of escape rooms with different difficulty levels, where there is a suggested number of people needed per room. Depending on the difficulty of the escape room, you are given either 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min to solve or escape the room. You are able to book your escape room ahead of time, which is highly recommended. They do have family and kid friendly escape rooms available as well. Also, the use of phones is not allowed when you play the escape rooms - if you do decide to bring your phone into the escape room and use it, you can cause your time in the escape room to end early (they have security footage throughout the rooms). This location also has an expansive board game area with many large tables and many games as well as a cafe selling bubble tea and snacks. There is also a gaming area with video game consoles as well. My party of 4 stopped by Omventure on a Saturday evening where we had booked the escape room "Kingdom of Cats" (60 min, 3/5 difficulty, best for 3-8 people). Upon entering, you pay at the counter where you can get discounts if you follow them on social media or if it is your birthday. Once ready, your belongings are placed in a single locker and you are asked to watch a video explaining the rules of the escape room. Staff also provide you with a walkie talkie where you can ask for unlimited hints if you are really stuck. Afterwards, staff lead you to your particular escape room. My party and I managed finish the "Kingdom of Cats" escape room in the allotted time, although we had to ask staff twice as we were stuck with what to do next. This particular escape room required us to solve puzzles and riddles while paying attention to our surroundings. There was a bit of crawling as we headed to at least 4 different rooms. It may seem confusing where to begin at first when you are placed in the room but with teamwork and communication, you end up figuring out what to do to move to the next step. This particular escape room isn't scary, but it is kid friendly and fun. The 60 min really flew by just like that as we had to use our brains in order to figure things out. I haven't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was really nicely designed with lots of details throughout. Moving through the different rooms was pretty cool and finding the clues and working as a team together allowed us to escape and finish. After we were finished with the escape room, staff came to get us and took our picture on the stage where we could choose different boards to hold up. Nice touch as a souvenir of the fun time you had while you were there. For an additional fee you can also play as many board games if you'd like, but we decided not to. Overall, a fun escape room adventure for everyone! Would love to try the more difficult and scary ones next time. Staff were great and the facilities were well maintained where the rooms very detailed. Great option to have a fun time with family or friends.

None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Then you have to ask for a clue (which they won't give, it'll just be a condescending phrase that tells you to do what you've already been doing.) then after fighting with them for five min they'll realize it's their fault and manually start it, wasting not just our time but our money. 30 dollars a person is just ridiculous for what this is. If you want more fun lock yourself in a dark closet for 30 min and try to get out, you'll probably feel more satisfied anyways. I will say that we did ignore all of the red flags 1. The bad reviews online 2. The two groups that came out super pissed off before us fighting for refunds cause nothing worked for them 3. How the place looked So kinda on us but... Did this for group bonding and I will say we did bond pretty well over how terrible this was and how much we got scammed, so maybe if you want team bonding then this works for you idk? So many rooms to go through that it made the experience well worth it. My only criticism would be the staff. We didn't escape the room and only had one section left to get through. When the staff came in telling us we were out of time, the normal procedure would be to walk us through what we had left. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived. It seemed that he was unwilling to walk us through the remaining aspects because if he did, then he'd have to reset all the puzzles... I've been to quite a few escape room locations and never has this happened before, even if the next group had arrived..
