I've fought the room escape craze for over a year here in Toronto, but this weekend my group of sister wives and I gave in and checked out Trapped! It was a hoot. I'm one of those sad adults that gets scared easily, so we opted for their Diamond Heist story line. You have 45 minutes to accomplish some physical, intellectual and puzzle tasks to steal some rich dude's giant diamond. From lasers, to mind screws, to math and music, it was lots of fun! Now that I've tested out these games, I think I'll come back and brave the serial killer or zombie apocalypse one soon. As mentioned, this was my first time at one of these places, so I don't have much to compare it to. I will say, though, that I feel it's top notch. The rooms are intricate, the staff is friendly and fun, and I highly recommend it. Lastly, I'd like to tell R Kelly (I know you're reading this, R), that you should buy a franchise of Trapped! and create a series of closet-escape rooms. Duh.

This was fuuuun! We came here to celebrate my brothers 16th bday and we had a blast. We did the Pandemic room which is the "easier" one of the 2 in this location. As newbies we got stuck a couple of times, thankfully we were given 3 hints by the super friendly staff and we manage to get out of the room in about 1 hr. YES they gave us extra time. P.S My brother got in for free because it was his birthday! I know what I'll be doing on my bday

Have you ever wonder what it would feel like to be one of those SAW victims? Well Claustrophobia at Trapped! will put you into a very uncomfortable position as you work together in a group to try to escape a pyscho serial murder torture room. We came here with a group of my friends for my birthday unfortunately we had more than 7 people so we had to split up into two groups and each group had to do different rooms. If you get a chance to be the team leader for this room, take it, you get a good surprise in the beginning. The challenges were pretty easy and once you get one puzzle done the rest seem pretty straight forward. We had to use help button once and it kind of ruined it a bit for us because the employee, even though she had good intentions, told us too much about the certain puzzle and after that made it very easy the rest of the way and we didn't feel challenged. The production of the room was ok, but it did feel creepy in there but could be a bit more realistic. Some items they used to make it seem like a murder's trapped room was cheesy. Overall Trapped puts on a good production. I would like to try to the other rooms though. I was thoroughly entertained by this escape game and would come back to try the other rooms.

A few friends were visiting from out of town and wanted to try out escape games, so we brought them to Trapped based on the positive reviews here on Yelp! We tried the claustrophobia room - we booked on Friday and there were only two slots available, so I would recommend booking early! (You can do this in person or on their website.) Before entering your escape room, you are led into a small room with a TV that will explain how the rooms work as well as the room's story background. The room itself is quite small, but what else were you expecting? It's called Claustrophobia! Without giving too much away, it's a room that requires a lot of communication and team work, so don't be afraid to talk to your teammates (because, well, you kinda have to!) Reception was really nice and helped us when we needed hints, even gave us a little bit extra time as we came so close to getting out before the timer went off! Great room for beginners and casuals alike! The only reason why I haven't given full stars is because I've been in much more theatrical rooms, so my standards are pretty high :)

    Hidden gem on Dundas!

One of my favourite escape rooms in Toronto! I played Diamond Heist and Pandemic with my sister. And they were both really fun! The laser obstacle in Diamond Heist was my favourite part. Would recommend to anyone who likes mission impossible style rooms. The Pandemic room had some well thought out puzzles. We almost didn't make it out but we did it with about 5 minutes left. I am looking forward to trying their Claustrophobia room. And the staff were so friendly!

Tons of fun. My friends and I took on the Diamond Heist room. It was a mission impossible type theme where your goal is to reach and steal an $80M diamond. The room was challenging and tests out your ability to work together with your friends under the pressure of the ticking clock. I don't want to say to much and give away the surprise nature of the room. If your looking for a challenge to go through with your friends, hit up Trapped!

My group bought the Toronto CityPASS® hoping for a smooth, enjoyable experience -- but it turned into one of the worst travel hassles I've had. We planned to use City Cruises Toronto, only to be turned away by the boat captain at the dock after initially being told we could board. There was no explanation -- just public embarrassment and wasted time. We spent extra money on Ubers to get to and from the cruise, only to be left stranded. I called CityPASS® customer service immediately, and their representative specifically advised us not to use the final attraction on our pass so we could request a refund. We did exactly what they told us to do in good faith. Despite this, CityPASS® only refunded $16.99 -- the portion for the cruise -- and refused to honor a refund for the unused ticket they explicitly told us to skip. So not only did we lose money, but our time and vacation plans were completely disrupted. Their refund policy clearly states unused tickets are fully refundable within 365 days, but apparently, they don't stand by this when it actually matters. Customer service was polite but ultimately unhelpful -- just copy-pasted responses with no real effort to resolve the issue fairly. I won't use CityPASS® again, and I'd caution other travelers to think twice -- especially if you want a company that will stand by its policies and treat customers respectfully when plans go wrong through no fault of your own.

It has many little disjoint puzzles which are somewhat challenging. Each puzzle is independent of the others, which allows for a group to split into smaller groups and solve the puzzles in parallel. The second room was The Lost Treasure (3/5 in difficulty). It was well thought-out and somewhat more challenging than advertised. The main room leads to a secondary room, and the main room is considerably more challenging. Both rooms were suitable for all ages. One of the great things about Enigma is that they allow you a lot of extra time. On both occasions they allowed us almost an additional hour to try to escape. They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

Getting…read morein was slightly disorganized, but understandably so given that there were at least 50 people squeezed into the reception area at one point. It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)
