Love how advanced this feature was, compared to your traditional walkie-talkie hints. We did the Kilgore Cabin room. The room felt like a 3-4/5 difficulty. The puzzles got progressively harder throughout. This room has a warning. Scare Factor: Scary moments and atmosphere. Warning: Contains themes and special effects that some players may find scary. Puzzles were all unique and very interactive. We really enjoyed the multiple rooms within this one escape room. Price per person was $38. Staff were really nice and showed us how to complete the room in the end (we weren't able to escape). Overall, highly recommend and we will be back to try out the other rooms!

Below zero showed some scariness on their site. It's contained and you are safe, no live actors, nothing will touch you. The suspense was light and done well, pretty sure most can guess when near the end to expect it. My kids would have loved it! Bring an engineer friend for this one, puzzles are a certain style. Shipwreck is so neat! Puzzles are very unique and haven't seen some of these puzzles at other locations before. Would love to gush about them, the puzzle theme is just perfect! They won an award for this escape room and it's well deserved! All puzzles worked properly, timing was good. We did bump a door which tripped the magnets to open(fire safety) and called the attendant. She was really helpful in stalling our time while she reset it back as it was a necessary step. Rooms are big enough, lighting was enough for an older crowd. Bring reading glasses if you kinda need them, as that slowed a team mate down and stalled a puzzle solving situation. Check your friends first for colour blindness, pink or purple? Red or brown? You're kidding me it's orange?? Also surprised we didn't over hear much noise from other rooms. I'm surprised they haven't won more awards for their rooms or close contender bragging rights. Clue: 4* Some rooms have hints on a screen and follows your progress based on where you've progressed. Some rooms are a white button and they'll come into your room to assist you, no walkie talkies thank goodness! Lighting 3* They feel it is enough and the main focus clues are properly illuminated. We feel it's still too dark to read some clues like book titles and request their flashlight every time. Staff 5* All staff here over the years have been awesome! Friendly, passionate,mature and all game lovers themselves. Game puzzles 3*-5* Some are well done, clever and creative. no locks and combos and they progressed to top of the line puzzles. We did find not all were well timed and one finale puzzle just plain lazy as if they lost their puzzle maker. We've done almost all their rooms and even ones they've replaced. The Missing Will: so much potential at the start but with an unsatisfactory end! It's like they ran out of time or money as the puzzles did not compare. The ending was too sudden and we stood there having won but confused this was it instead of their usual wrap up theme. It's not scary at all but with a supernatural theme. It's also perfect for larger groups or friends with adhd. The roles you pick can help give clues and hints for solving your character puzzles aside from the main ones. This is also what makes it frustrating for us, as we want to clear all puzzles and it's not possible/necessary. Pathogen: interesting how the game can change based on your progress, choices and hints. We won with a minute thirty to spare. Bring a friend that reads everything as ours rushed before following orders, one that isn't colour blind, and one that isn't afraid to go somewhere alone. Not scary on this room. Noriko: scary theme! For me it wasn't the doll props and flashy lighting but the background music and special effect noise. I couldn't concentrate very well as I found that triggering and this had the darkest rooms with poorest lighting at their establishment. Tip: Bring a friend that is musical, don't bring friends afraid of scary movies! Crossroads: dark thriller vibe, liked the choice to choose a decision to effect ending, the changing atmosphere to fit the evolving story and ending was fun. My friends liked this room a lot and played it two more times after our win and couldn't break out with the other two groups. Lounge: only standing room now. No board games offered anymore. They sell canned pop and waters, have 3 clean washrooms. Photo board is self run at the entrance on a timer but terrible angle and background. $10 off for back to back games. Disappointed, not a top escape room place despite it being a chain…read more Stepping inside the front foyer noted a sterile quiet ambiance. They have these low back seated green suede chairs befitting the Matrix movie. No board games, no entertainment or game room posters to advertise other escape games in play. This was strange but we figured they were kind of newly opened? Even the escape room doors were plain, only 2 seemed to show a theme. No background music either, so the first impression was not a good one. I consider my group to have a moderate level escape room experience. Maybe we've been spoiled with advances in technology from other Escape games over the years. But we do remember how humble escape rooms started with and what had to change. For the two rooms tried, we cleared the majority of puzzles within 20 mins and got stuck on one or two puzzles at the end. They show you how to solve it at the end and there was a technical difficulty that even she was having trouble with the solution. Not bad but translating that was tricky on how many references were required. Cons: - alien room required flashlights the entire time, supplied ones were terrible even after requesting a change over. - walkie talkie, this is really outdated! Alien room made this feature mandatory and our host had to come in as she couldn't relay the hint properly which wasted more time. - no visible count down timer displayed. They will let you know via walkie talkie....which we couldn't hear - photo op is a manual sign by front desk - the staff on our visit are young newbies, very friendly and by the book, but not as experienced, like other places. Both working there have not visited other escape games which is interesting. They had solutions written down on paper. We're ok not breaking out, but definitely disappointed in lack of ambience and far reach on one or two puzzle connections. Not a favourite, try Crypto nearby first if you haven't been already.

Just a top-tier escape room experience with some of the highest production value. My group and I did Hong Kong After Dark. It was a 2 hour escape room and about $70 per person. It'll be one of my most memorable experiences just based on how amazing the set looked. The puzzles were complex, engaging, and fit into the story so well. You can tell the people running the place are super passionate about creating the best escape room experience. We did have a slight hiccup where the room didn't reset halfway through. We waltzed through a door and everything was already unlocked and lit up. Staff were on top of it though and immediately came in and fixed it. Everything proceeded smoothly afterwards. I've done other rooms before in both locations, a long time ago though. I remember them all being extremely detailed and fun but this one might be one of my favourites yet.

The entrance of Omventure is somewhat hidden where it faces the back of a big building housing several different businesses (mainly restaurants). A great place for kids, teens, families, as well as young adults, the space houses a variety of escape rooms with different difficulty levels, where there is a suggested number of people needed per room. Depending on the difficulty of the escape room, you are given either 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min to solve or escape the room. You are able to book your escape room ahead of time, which is highly recommended. They do have family and kid friendly escape rooms available as well. Also, the use of phones is not allowed when you play the escape rooms - if you do decide to bring your phone into the escape room and use it, you can cause your time in the escape room to end early (they have security footage throughout the rooms). This location also has an expansive board game area with many large tables and many games as well as a cafe selling bubble tea and snacks. There is also a gaming area with video game consoles as well. My party of 4 stopped by Omventure on a Saturday evening where we had booked the escape room "Kingdom of Cats" (60 min, 3/5 difficulty, best for 3-8 people). Upon entering, you pay at the counter where you can get discounts if you follow them on social media or if it is your birthday. Once ready, your belongings are placed in a single locker and you are asked to watch a video explaining the rules of the escape room. Staff also provide you with a walkie talkie where you can ask for unlimited hints if you are really stuck. Afterwards, staff lead you to your particular escape room. My party and I managed finish the "Kingdom of Cats" escape room in the allotted time, although we had to ask staff twice as we were stuck with what to do next. This particular escape room required us to solve puzzles and riddles while paying attention to our surroundings. There was a bit of crawling as we headed to at least 4 different rooms. It may seem confusing where to begin at first when you are placed in the room but with teamwork and communication, you end up figuring out what to do to move to the next step. This particular escape room isn't scary, but it is kid friendly and fun. The 60 min really flew by just like that as we had to use our brains in order to figure things out. I haven't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was really nicely designed with lots of details throughout. Moving through the different rooms was pretty cool and finding the clues and working as a team together allowed us to escape and finish. After we were finished with the escape room, staff came to get us and took our picture on the stage where we could choose different boards to hold up. Nice touch as a souvenir of the fun time you had while you were there. For an additional fee you can also play as many board games if you'd like, but we decided not to. Overall, a fun escape room adventure for everyone! Would love to try the more difficult and scary ones next time. Staff were great and the facilities were well maintained where the rooms very detailed. Great option to have a fun time with family or friends.

The rooms are all very well built, and incorporate some good tech as well as lock and key. The puzzles are very well thought out. You are allowed as many or few hints as you want. There are other facilities in Durham that we have tried, but they just don't stack up. The owners, Nick and Ray, are always great to speak with and super friendly. Highly recommend checking The Panic Factory out.

The Puzzles We ended up doing two because we had such a good time. We did the Amun Ra room and the Wilshire puzzle. They were engaging and well thought out and had us working together to communicate our findings and surroundings. The production of each room and immersiveness were great. Sometimes the puzzles didn't work PERFECTLY, but the staff were quick to correct it if things didn't work well which was rare The Service The staff were fantastic . All were friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The team was clear with the rules and expectations of each room. Follow the rules and you will have fun. The Value It's just under $40 for each person playing and each room with the minimum of 4 participants is a private booking. I really enjoyed this as I got to work with people I knew and could work off their energies as well. It's worth the money and it's time and money well spent. I'm looking forward to trying the Steampunk room as well as the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens room. I would 100% recommend this place and can't wait to go again. I can't recommend it enough!
