Zero stars! Not an honest business . Work on the same transmission twice neither time did they fix it. This last time my local dealership found multiple extra quarts of transmission fluid over and above what was supposed to be in it along with metal shavings just a few short weeks after they supposedly fixed it. More like transa master. Honestly, not worth it. It will cost you more money in the long run. I don't trust them at all. Went there three times. Twice for tire repair and once to have a stripped bolt removed. I needed new tires and did not have the tools to mount them so I went here. It was quick and cheap but they also broke two wheel studs. Which compromises safety and increases te cost of things I have to repair. More money down the drain. Now I go to give them one last try and they fail miserably. All I needed was an easy to reach bolt drilled out. Which I clearly stated was all I wanted. It should have taken minutes. But it took them 3+ hours to dick around with it doing lord knows what only to end up drilling it out in five minutes like I suggested in the first place. Then to top it off I get charged $70. To take out ONE bolt. It's ridiculous. Enjoy the money I was over charged. As a sweet bonus, I was hit with some smart quip about how "when you try to do your own work you end up paying more. So take it to the professionals." It's honestly comical. You took tomorrow than three hours and charged $70 to do something that should have taken minutes and have been honestly quite painless. I was told this by the guy who broke two of my wheel studs and blamed it on me when I had changed the wheels countless times in the past without a problem. $70 to take out one stripped stud. It's almost comical. You know what else is $70? I good drill. Do yourself a favor. If it's simple repairs that you need to do. Just save the money, buy the tools you need and do it yourself. Certainly cheaper and a better chance of it going right than handing it over to this place. If it's something you're not comfortable doing or learning how to yourself then find someone else. Someone you trust. I don't know who they're paying to get good reviews but they absolutely did not earn all the stars they have. read more

I bought a groupon for my break pads. I called ahead to try and make an appointment. I asked if I could come the same day and the lady told me come within the next hour. Made it within the next hour and the man in the shop told me he couldn't do it for five days. Sorry, I need break pads today! Returned my groupon and won't be going here ever again. Avoid this place at all cost! I took my car there to get my transmission looked at. The car was not shifting from 1st gear to 2nd so I knew it was the transmission. I wanted to see if they could fix it or tell me it's not worth fixing since the car is a 2001. I took it in on a Saturday morning and was told by the owner to come back in about 4-5 hours, they were going to open the transmission pan and check the magnets and sensors to see if the problem was the trans itself or the sensors inside and it was going to cost $150. I was called to pick it up 5 hours later and the owner told me that the whole transmission was bad and needed to be replaced. Quoted me $1500 to fix it. As I got there my car wasn't there, I saw it drive up by one of the mechanics, he used to get parts from Autozone or advanced auto, he had a many parts in hand. I decided to take the car with me and not have the work done there. I paid the service cost and went on my way. I decided to have my local mechanic take a look at it and once we got underneath the car we realized they never services the car at all!!! They just added gasket sealant along the transmission pan and never took off the bolts so I know they didn't even take a look at it! As soon as I realized I called them telling the owner the problem and he said come back Monday and I'll return you the money if ur right, of course I was right I took pics of everything. Went there the next day and he returned my money, didn't want to look at the pics, as to say they do this often but this time got caught! So PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT DISHONEST SERVICE!!!! read more

As someone who has owned auto repair shops in the past, I know how hard it is to find a good, honest mechanic. This is one of those places. He was able to fix my transmission issues with a $110 part, rather than the $4000 to $6000 estimate I was given to replace my transmission. I knew I needed the head gaskets replaced and I needed the heads resurfaced and when he gave me back my car, not only was the job done well and on time, my car had been cleaned! Inside and out!! Abraham is second to none. I had a car with over 180,000 miles on it and was experiencing hard shifting in gears 2-4. When I took the car in, instead of telling me I needed my entire transmission replaced or rebuilt (which I feared most) he told me it was a problem with the filter and fluid. I am not kidding when I say that he is the most understanding, reasonable, and knowledgeable individual I have ever dealt with when it comes to cars or car repairs. I stopped in the last minute because my tire was going flat.they gave me a choice to fix it with a plug or buy a new tire.I was surprised they had my tire size in stock and I ended buying 2 new tires for the back and they rotated all my tires and gave me a great deal!!! Lets face it, driving in Chicago kinda sucks. You get your car dinged and banged up and tires go flat from pot holes, nails, glass, etc. These guys were very helpful and fast and friendly. I went to Mid City Nissan for an oil change and a couple repairs on my car. While my car was in the shop, they in formed me that an engine belt on my car was in "poor" condition and that is needed to be replaced soon. After getting a quote for $140 to change it from Mid City Nissan, I went over to Transmission Masters and Abraham said he could do it for $80. Needless to say, I got much better service and a much better price with Transmission Master. 5 stars. read more

I found Transmission Masters on Yelp and decided to go because of the good reviews. You guys didn't let me down -- the reviews were very true. Abraham is a really trustworthy guy. One time he couldn't find anything wrong with my car and suggested I go back to the dealership to have it checked out because it continued to stall out when I would come to a stop, or even sometimes when I was accelerating -- such a strange problem. He could have easily told me it needed some random repair and charged me an arm and a leg, and I wouldn't have known any better. Of course, the dealership did charge me an arm and a leg and still didn't find a problem. They had no problem taking my money! (Word to the wise -- do not go to Grossinger Chevrolet on Dayton -- EVER). Transmission Masters treats its customers well and Abraham does everything he can to keep repair costs down. This place is not very large but, they do nice work and big jobs for reasonable prices. I had my upper and lower manifold gaskets replaced and I feel like the people there did a fantastic job.
