I had been here about 2 years ago and had a great experience so when my husband suggested we get massages together for Valentines Day, I booked Tranquility. I was booked for a half hour salt scrub. We arrived 10 minutes before our appointment times. I was taken into my room at 4:09 and promptly ushered out at 4:29 after a scrub AND rinse off shower. This means that my $60 treatment lasted about 10 minutes!! My husband had a hour massage which he rated a 5 out of 10....overall a disappointment at a significant cost. I came to Tranquility Spa for spa week since I was looking for a new spa (I was an avid Red Door goer). This spa is amazing. The waiting area is gorgeous and relaxing. There are many couches and pillows so everyone can spread out and not be on top of each other. The changing rooms and lockers are very clean and new. As are all the towels and ropes. Nothing was threadworn or tearing. Onto the services - a massage and scrub. The massage was amazing. It relaxed me within in seconds. It was calming and felt great! Then on to the scrub. Again true professional. The huge rain shower in the room was amazing. All in all this was amazing and I have a new spa. read more

I am a big fan of Tranquility Spa however with this being said, It is best to go during the week when there is not a lot of people to get the real relaxing spa experience. They have a lot of treatment rooms for various treatments so they are able to accommodate a lot of people at a given time, however if you want a true experience when you will be taken care of like no one else, then go at a down time. The waiting area could be a little annoying thanks to women who disregard the signs directing for quiet conversation only but other than that no issues. I called last week to make an appointment for my son. I spoke with a manager Stephanie to book the appointment. I asked how much was the total services because I was purchasing a gift card. She told me $325. I purchased a spafinder gift card. They are listed as an active participant with spafinder and I paid the full amount. My son arrived for his appointment and gave the gift card when he was checked in. When his services were complete, they misplaced the gift card. He then showed the card on his phone and suddenly the staff did not want to honor the gift card. He had to wait over 30 minutes to get Stephanie on the phone to then try to explain why there is a cap. She also tried to charge us an additional $20. The tried to say they can't take a spafinder gift card over a a certain amount or on discounted rates. First of all, this was not discounted and no where on there site or when I booked the appointment did anyone say that. Jeez, don't you think that should have been said during his check in???? I have been coming to Tranquility for years and have used multiple Spafinder gift cards for services well over $500. Not to mention this was not discounted! I am appalled on how we were treated. His tranquil relaxing day has now been ruined by the incompetence of their staff! You have now lost 3 customers as we will never ever pay to be STRESSED again!!!!!! I had an awesome service today at Tranquility Spa thanks to my Massage Therapist Arlene. She was very attentive to the areas that needed to be attended to the most. In just 60 Minutes felt, and still feel relaxed and more range of motion in my neck and shoulder areas. Afterwards, spent a few minutes in the amazing steam room and that kicked off my day even more. My fiance purchased a gift certificate for me as part of my law school graduation gift to Tranquility Spa based on all the great reviews. I had never been to this spa before, but get massages quite frequently. After checking out the fantastic feedback here, I was excited to use my gift certificate and booked a sweedish massage. While the facilities are beautiful, this was the worst "relaxing" experience I have ever had. I called to make an appointment and was taken same day, which was nice, but was only given 20 minutes to get to the spa. I understand I could have requested a later appointment, but did not think it would be such a mad rush upon arrival. I was told to "hurry up" as I would be taken immediately. The second I changed I was ushered into my room. Fine, again I could have requested a later appointment. The massage itself was a complete waste of my time. The entire experience was essentially a moisturizing body treatment of lotion being applied for an hour. Not once was I asked about the pressure; I understand I could have spoken up, but never have I not been asked ONCE by the masseuse whether or not the massage was to my liking. In my personal opinion, the onus should not be on the patron. I left completely awake and still sore; normally, one is slightly "blissed out" after a great massage and is calm and relaxed. I got none of this from my experience. I felt terrible, but I had to tell my fiance. This spa is not inexpensive and he was so excited for me to enjoy his gift. He called up to explain the situation and then I spoke with them as well. I explained the entire situation to them, at which point I was told "Oh, you wanted a deep tissue massage." I get massages fairly frequently and have had massages at some great spa's, Bliss, Red Door, Great Jones .. even at my local Scarsdale Equinox, so I understand the difference between a sweedish massage and a deep tissue massage quite well. What I don't understand is the lack of customer service. I was told I could have a 25% discount on my next service ... I will never return. I apologize, but there are too many other GOOD alternatives at which I can spend my money. Sorry for the length, but I am currently in the middle of studying for the BAR exam and the last thing I need to deal with is wasting a gift certificate on a terrible massage, being spoken to like I don't know what I am talking about, and dealing with an establishment that clearly doesn't value client satisfaction. I used to go to Tranqility fairly often. The massages were decent, but I always overheard the staff complaining about something. The receptionist is always chatting on the phone on personal calls and I don't really feel like my business is appreciated. Once, the girl doing laundry sat down next to me in the lounge, while I was is a bathrobe, and started telling me all her problems. It wasn't very relaxing. Now, I go elsewhere. read more

My favorite spa, next to Spa Castle. I started coming here in 2005 and have not looked back! I've never had a bad experience here. The customer service is definitely on point! The locker room is a tad small,it had showers and a steam room, however the waiting area is large and comfortable. There are snacks to nibble on, while you await your treatment(s). I try to come as often as possible. My last treatment was a prenatal massage and it was wonderfully done by L.V. They do not charge your credit card, until the treatment is complete. Visited tranquility spa this past saturday and was a bit disappointed. My friend and i arrived 5 minutes late, which was our fault. However, my therapist didnt have an appointment after me. I left the locker room at 12:08 and was promptly taken into the room. I departed the room after my massage, which was nice. The time in the room felt short, so i checked the time when i got out and it was 12:56. I was shocked that even though i arrived late, i would still get the 55 minute massage since she didnt have an appt after me. Also, saturday night i noticed a rash under my left eye, which has gotten worse in the past 48 hours. Ive used the same makeup and face wash (clinique) for years. While im Sure they change the body sheets, im unsure if they change the face sheet...so caution to those with sensitive skin. read more

I had a great 2 hour deep tissue massage today and as always, really enjoyed the time here. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. The massage was awesome and the room was peaceful. My masseuse was very well trained and was very attentive. I really must come more often. read more

I received a gift card to Tranquility for Christmas and after reading reviews I was really looking forward to my appointment. I've gotten a ton of massages in the past, but usually at places like Massage Envy, where there's not really a "spa" vibe. I loved that Tranquility was like a spa - robes, waiting area, lockers, showers, steam room, all of that. The massage itself was fine. I had a lot of knots that she was able to work out, which was great but as soon as I got home I was in so much pain. Here I am 24 hours later and I can hardly move. Any sudden motion that I make results in tremendous amounts of pain. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I know that I have never experienced anything like this. read more

I've been to many Spas in the area including 'elitist' spas and Tranquilty stands out as one of the best for me. I have had deep tissue as well as Swedish and I always leave feeling completely relaxed. I find tranquility does just as much , if not a better job on my back as my Chiropractor! read more

I had an enormously enjoyable facial on Feb. 2nd with Allison. I arrived with the absolute worst headache (going two days strong) with the hopes that some down time and the much needed facial would bring me some relief. It was an amazing experience- both rejuvenating and relaxing. I chose the Age Smart Facial option and it did not disappointment. My face was treated to a number of treatments and cleansing extraction that left my skin looking 10 years younger in my opinion. Coupled with all of this was the lovely hand massage with warm glove treatment and a massage of my face, neck and shoulders. I left with glowing skin and my headache miraculously was almost gone. I am so looking forward to my next visit to Tranquility. Thanks Allison, you are a Goddess in my book. read more

the worst! the worst! beware they are the worst. i had a gift certificate for a "soothing stone therapy - hour with deep tissue - body treatment - peppermint sea salt polish. the staff claims they called me and confirmed that i confirmed for swedish massage which is not true. why would i change my service to swedish message when on the gift certificate it clearly states soothing stone therapy, etc.... i brought to the massauge attention about 10 mins into and she stated, they put swedish massage which i never agreed to. common sense you ask the customer dont just go and change. they made a mistake and i have to pay for their incompetance. the owner, mananger, whoever she is was rude in hearing my point not to mention it is very obvious to me that she is racist!!!! read more

One of the all time worst Spas... wish I could rate them a zero!!!! my Mom had 2 gift certificates here and even called to ensure both were valid in which they were. I was coming to visit for a long weekend and we were looking forward to a girls Spa day. When my Mom called we were told they were both valid and even when we checked in we were told they were valid again. We changed into our robes and were unpleasantly approached by a woman (calling herself the manager) who said one of our gift certificates had expired. We couldn't believe we had gotten through 2 employees who said it was a non issue. Needless to say we will not be returning and would not recommend anyone going to this substandard Spa! This is a lovely spa. I've been going there for 4 or 5 years. My husband chooses this spa often when he buys me gift certificates (lucky me!). I have taken my best friend there when she comes in from out of town, and she enjoys herself as well. You will enjoy the luxury of it- beautiful surroundings, plush robes, calming rooms, great changing areas, wonderful snacks to replenish yourself after your treatments. I took my mom and 2 sisters for Swedish massage and it's wasn't as expected. The 3 of them wasn't happy. Beside they tell you 1 hour but the finish before an hour. It was my mom and 2 sisters first time to a spa, I am not sure they will go back to that location. I went to many spas but Tranquility Spa wasn't the best, it's at the very last of my list. Because my sisters and mom wasn't happy I didn't leave any tips. Just wasn't expected. The spa was very nice and the staff but the service wasn't good. read more

I am just visiting the area as I am here for work - which entails long days in the outdoors, climbing rugged terrain and somewhat strenuous activities...needless to say a massage was in order to help soothe achey joints and muscles... So I hopped on yelp and looked for a good recommendation in an area that was close to me. Having read some other reviews I decided to give Tranquility a call and they were able to get me in the very next morning- which was terrific! Both the woman on the phone and staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. The facility is indeed very tranquil and clean- incredibly relaxing atmosphere. The massage was really amazing and it felt much longer than 1 hour (though I am definitely not complaining). Peter was my masseuse, and he was very friendly and courteous. He is VERY skilled at what he does- at one point I felt myself melting like butter. It was hands down an incredibly relaxing and therapeutic experience and I will certainly be back again before I leave to go home...I wish I lived in the area so I could continue to see Peter- he's that good. I'm sure they all are wonderful. I whole heartedly recommend Tranquility Spa. Thank you for a fantastic experience. You guys are doing a really great job!! read more

This is my third bad experience with tranquility spa, however this one was so bad I am finally giving them the review they deserve. In the past, I had two horrible massages there, including another prenatal during my last pregnancy. The quality of services and the customer service here is terrible. Certainly not worth it. Two weeks ago it was very icy on Sunday morning and I had a prenatal massage scheduled at 11am. I was hesitant to drive in the weather but I went anyway because they had confirmed my appointment late the afternoon before and it was being held by a gift certificate given to me for christmas. If it was my own CC I probably would have stayed home. When I arrived there was no receptionist, and a therapist behind the counter. I was told that my therapist was not in and they could not see me. The spa opened at 9am, they had plenty of time to call and inform me. I spent my Sunday morning driving around in icy weather for over an hour for no reason. No one ever called to apologize or reschedule. I called on Tuesday and one of the owners didn't even apologize, kept me on the phone for 15 minutes speaking nonsense, and then said to come back and they will give me "a discount or something". I wouldn't go back for free. read more

I love tranquility spa. Although I never get there often enough, I always find the staff to be cheerful and polite. Try to arrive 15 minutes or more before your appointment. You can enjoy a quiet, nicely decorated waiting room and enjoy soft music while getting your treatment. I get my facials done by TERRI-I highly recommend her! She always inquires about your current skin concerns and also asks you during the facial if you feel ok, etc. I also get deep tissue massages. I usually ask for Ken or Bobby but have found all of the male therapists there do a great job! I hold a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and they always work out the kinks in those areas and I leave feeling great! The have very flexible hours and it is a relaxing retreat from the daily grind! The dressing/locker/shower room area is stocked with everything you will need to get ready after your treatment, from mouth wash to q-tips, hairstyling products, hair dryers and more. I have been coming here for Years! It was my go to for all things relaxation. I used to come at least once every two months for some type of treatment, until recently. I have to say in the last 6 months or so, this place has been on a steady decline. The massage and facial services have both left me wanting more. First I will talk about my last massage experience. The therapist was very nice, and on time as far as bringing me into my room. Then once I disrobed and was face down, I was left waiting way to long before she arrived to start the massage. I always have deep tissues and they are supposed to be slow relaxing strokes and this lady was just rapidly rubbing me down, so fast I could barely relax. It ebbed and flowed from good to not so good throughout the massage and I left feeling just ok. When I got up and looked at the time, it was 2:55! I still had five minutes left in my massage! What the heck? The last few moments of the massage are usually the best and I have consistently had massages end 4-5 minutes before they were supposed to here. So not only do they start 4-5min late, they end 4-5 min early. Basically you are being jipped 10 minutes of your massage. Unless they changed the massage time to 50 minutes, which I am unaware of, as the menu states 60 minutes, I feel like I am robbed every time I come here. The last facial I had here was two weeks before my wedding, so my last time to get cleaned up before my big day. I had Elsa. As i was sitting 3 minutes goes by, 7 minutes goes by, as 10 minutes finally passes I head upstairs to let the front desk know, that no one has come get me for my facial yet. I am told to head back down and they would let the aesthetician know I was waiting. At 15 minutes after, Elsa finally comes and gets me and brings me to the treatment room, with no apology. Doesn't even bring up the fact that she is bringing me into the room 15 minutes after my treatment was supposed to start. Now instead of relaxing, I am pissed! I mean what the hell, but I felt that as long as I got the full hour treatment, it would be okay. Let me also preface this by saying that this particular aesthetician, I had before, and I was also pissed, because i completely forgot that she is the Worst! and I cannot believe i didn't remember to request someone other than her. The first facial I had from here at a different time, she completely covered my forehead with the hair towel and barely touched it as far as a facial goes. This particular time she tried the same maneuver and i quickly pulled the towel up to expose my entire forehead, I mean isn't this apart of your face that is included in a facial?! I am not an aesthetician, but i have had plenty of facials and the order in which she does hers is all wrong. The massaging and relaxing part comes before the extractions and she pretty much ends your facial with extractions. It is literally the worst facial I have ever had. So she starts 15 minutes late, and she ended right on time... Again with no apology or mention of her time. I figured maybe she had another client, I could understand if she had to go at the proper end time. When I am done dressing and head upstairs, I see her in the hallway just chit chatting with other staff, so instead of giving me the proper one hour facial, she decided she needed some downtime out in the hall with her coworkers, very professional. At this point I was pissed, I take my facials and massages very seriously, especially right before my wedding. I felt horrible about the whole experience. The front desk offered no apology either for the time issue, at this point I decided I was done with tranquility. They have really been going down lately. Not only are the treatments under par, but the professionalism of the staff is nonexistent. I am glad I found a new place in the area to relax and unwind at. read more

I have been going to tranquility Spa for many years for facials, body massages, scrubs, warps...you name it. They exceeded my expections again. First, the front desk ladies are so friendly, accommodating & efficient. This is unfortunately rare nowadays. The locker room is unbelievably clean & well stocked with everything that you could ever need. The showers are nice. The steam room is extra extra clean & very very steamy. Kiryl was my masseuse for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. He was superb. Not only did he excel at the massage but he offered tips on how general well being. I really like Tranquility Spa. Their massages are a little on the expensive side and I haven't had consistently amazing experiences there (sometimes the bed wasn't warm or me or my husband got scratched by a masseuse) but overall it is really nice. The waiting room has cookies and cool water with lemon in it and it's a luxurious experience. In addition, I highly, highly recommend Lorna as a masseuse. She is not only the best masseuse I've tried at Tranquility but with her I got one of the most relaxing, best massages I've ever had. I hadn't felt so calm and at ease in a long time. After the massage, she showed me a lot of stretches to try to help me loosen up and those helped too. I've had trouble booking her because she's only there 2-3 days a week, but definitely ask! read more

I am a stickler for customer service and when I mistakenly deleted the printed gift certificate for my mom's birthday, Tranquility came through big time. I called and explained that today was my mom's birthday and what I believe to be the owner took it in his own hands and literally drove the gift certificate to her house within 20 minutes. My favorite place to go for a facial! It's very relaxing, clean and the estheticians are great. They take the time to examine your skin and suggest treatment for your type. When you leave the parking lot and walk through the doors at Tranquility, you really feel like you are in a different world. The massages are amazing, and so is the staff and treatment you receive. The spa is very nice but I would not go back. I had a regular facial... My appointment was for 1200, I was out of the room at 1237. It was terrible. The girl took about 5-10 minutes in between everything she did, she did no extractions because my face was "too sensitive". Basically, she just put different creams on my face and took them off and moved on. She talked to me the whole time, I am here to relax not to talk to you. Tranquility Spa was not very tranquil. The girls at the front desk were very loud to the point I could hear their conversation downstairs. It got worse when some guy they knew walked in. The day I went the impression I left with was that these people had no idea what tranquility meant. Unless this was an off day I would recommend finding a spa that that knows how to cater to patrons. read more
