Folks who relied on Harmon- like myself and so many others had to look elsewhere. And like magic, this Harmon, on Quaker Ridge in the North Ride Shopping Ctr- not far from the Hutchinson River Pkwy in New Rochelle, was resuscitated by a Westchester businessman who saw the need to continue. Hopefully other Harmon locations will reopen just like this one. This location has ample parking spaces and the inside, is just as spacious with wide aisles- something my local Harmon didn't have. I can easily spend a few hours losing myself in the hair aisle, nail polish, the makeup section- carrying all commercial brands like L'Oreal, Maybeline, etc and everything else for that matter. All this with polite service.

As such, you can imagine my sadness when I learned that all Harmon locations were closing as part of the liquidation of Bed Bath & Beyond (their parent company). Where was I going to get all my travel-sized merch? I made due, however I recently learned that this particular Harmon in New Rochelle was reopening, and since travel plans are on the horizon, I thought it was the perfect excuse to go check it out. How did this happen? Why was Harmon playing with my emotions like this? Someone queue up Here You Come Again by Dolly Parton. Based upon what I was overhearing while shopping, it seems that Harmon always did well, and that it was simply a casualty of BBB going under; they found a new buyer for the brand and will begin reopening their brick and mortar locations. This one in New Rochelle is the first one to open, and another one in Jersey is set to open later this summer. Walking in, I was greeted by the usual - the famous wall of travel-sized items, a vast selection of personal hygiene products, snacks, and cosmetics. I focused my attention on the travel-sized section, though I did make a few laps around the store just to take it all in. While they are still building up their inventory (specifically their house brand products), there's still a lot to choose from. Service was good, everyone was friendly and I was taken care of swiftly upon checkout. Overall, I'm impressed with the initial offerings that Harmon has, and am super happy to see they're back. This will definitely be my go-to once again for travel merch.

It took 4 employees to help a woman return a spoon set today. This is why A.I. is taking over! I'm sure there are loss prevention reasons why people can't receive refunds from a kiosk, but why is this so difficult? Decent selection of men's wear, and pretty good shoe department (men's and women's). I shop at Macys because I don't want department stores to disappear.

There is a wide variety of merchandise at different price points. Employees on the floor are identifiable, by their name tags, that actually help if asked for assistance. The B-Line services both ends of Xavier Ave; the street between Macy's and where Target is now.

We were not greeted upon entering, and when my sister approached the register to ask about her pickup order, the employee behind the counter seemed completely uninterested in helping. After my sister explained she had received the pickup email about two weeks ago, the employee immediately said orders are automatically refunded after one week if not picked up. She didn't even bother checking to see if the order might still be there. On top of that, the store itself felt very dim and dingy. The lighting was poor, and several pieces of luggage on display looked dirty and used, especially the wheels. Overall, not a pleasant shopping experience and unfortunately not a place I would return to.

An hour later, I received an e-mail that my order is ready for in-store pickup at Mt Vernon and I had 3 days to go to the store to pick it up. It was a bit of a trek to get there from Queens, but not too bad since I left earlier in the day. Target is located on East Sandford Blvd and there is no problem finding parking as there are plenty of spots. Usually all Target locations have a very similar setup so it's not too unfamiliar. I went to Guest Services and showed the staff member my pickup barcode in order details and they brought my item to me. Since I was there, I of course had to look around. The aisles were very organized and stocked. The Target App is an easy way to shop and save. If there is a specific item you are looking for, the app will tell you the exact aisle and how many are in stock. It is also very helpful to let you know which items are available and the quantity at each store.
