I was in the area when I saw this place. Walked in with my kids and the owner was very accommodating and welcoming. Haven't felt this good anywhere else. My daughter who is 5 wanted to do her nails too. Best part was she was treated so well. Nail technician was very friendly with her and did what she wanted. They did her color change and was very warm with her. We had a bad experience at somewhere else recently. They guy who did my nails was extremely good. He was so patient and friendly. I've tried a few and recently my cousin recommended Mai Nails. I didn't have an appointment but they fit me. Linda was AMAZING! She was cool and easy to talk to. We hit it right off! She is very detailed and took her time. She rounded and smoothed my SNS powder manicure because I hate it when it grows out and isn't seamless. She did this without my needing to ask. She made to sure to get all my edges because it's not okay when the sides aren't done all the way. She did a SPECTACULAR job on my nails. I've been here at least 5 times. Pedicures were always good. I went and asked for the spa pedicure where they remove callus and apply mud to your legs. The man rushed the whole time while having another man watch (he was training him) and they never asked if that was okay. The man barely did anything to my feet, no massage nothing and it came out to $61. As if things couldn't get any worse, that night the gel polish was peeling off 2 of my toes. Unacceptable and they lost a customer. $61 and my feet look the same. So annoyed. And it wasn't the older short man it was a taller skinny man I've never seen before. Been to this place twice, first time got a pedicure and it didn't last, the nail polished chipped off 2 days later but I figure you get what you pay for since it was a regular pedicure. I went back to try gel nails to get a longer lasting solution, I even paid an extra $10 to get a French gel manicure. My gel manicure lasted 4 days and the gel started lifting and easily peeled off. I was frustrated and called the salon to see if they could provide a solution and went into the salon to show my nails and was told that it was my nails that caused the gel to lift & not last the 2 weeks that I was promised. I've done gel nails in other salons and it has lasted me longer than 2 weeks and the problem is not my nails. They told me I would have to come back to pay for a new set. Never going back again. The salon was very nice and clean so no issues there but I think I just wasn't lucky with the nail tech I had! She did a really poor job for gel and it took soooo long for her to do! This picture is just day 3 after getting them done and I know it's not going to last more than 1 week. The edges are messy and the gel is applied unusually thicker on some nails more than others. I came into the salon and was told the wait is 30 minutes for a pedicure for my daughter and myself. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes in total, in which 25 minutes I sat in the pedicure chair waiting to be seen. The hot water was not working in the chair so they used buckets to place the water in the spa. The lady who serviced me was polite and professional. When I went to pay the bill was more than what the price list reflected. When I inquired about it, they(the man and woman) stated my daughter (who is 10 years old) is too tall for the kids pricing. I brought to their attention that the menu states nothing regarding height of the children and only age. This was my 3rd time going here and it was not a charm! Despite my previous 2 positive experiences, this visit which consisted of a gel manicure and regular pedicure resulted in a rushed and sloppy job. The tech I had was an older woman, very pleasant but she did seem bothered that she had to do both my pedi & mani. After all I was done in 1 hour???? Quick work and when I brought the sloppy polish job to her attention, she was dismissive and just wiped the edge of my finger with a cotton ball. Didn't remove the polish on my skin though. My 1st and 2nd visit to this business were fine. Minor cut on the 2nd visit, but was handle professionally and quickly. The 3rd visit was not great. I had asked for a gel manicure, the manicurist asked if I wanted a "dip" I had no idea what that was but she told me it lasts longer. OK, she never told me it was more expensive. She used what I called a sander file to rough up my nails. I paid and tipped, but honestly was not happy with the job. I cuticle edges at the bottom of each nail were rough and got caught and snagged on sweaters and any knit object. Now we come to STRIKE 3..The 4th visit. I went in for a Classic mani/pedi (PLAIN). I do not know the manicurist's name all I know is she sat at desk #8. The Pedi was fine. The manicure has destroyed what was once my long beautiful nails. First she used the sander to take the old polish off, she burned 2 of my fingers with it. She then asked the girl at the next desk to add acetone to the polish while she finished getting the old polish off. She the soaked the nails with cotton balls and wrapped them in foil. She used the sander again. Too many layers of my nails have been removed to the point the tips of my fingers are actually painful. While doing my cuticles she actually pulled a ripped the cuticle on my right index finger, causing more pain. My nails were then polished and I sat with them drying for 20 minutes. I thought they were dry until I did a quick shopping at the grocery store on my way home. My nails were MESS, they were tacky and smudged. As soon as I got home I attempted to take the polish off, it was still so tacky I couldn't get it off. I had to wait until it dried... 3 hours. I can only assume it is the acetone created that problem. Adding insult to the injury I was charged an extra fee for her using that sander file. I had decided not to waste my time writing a review. I simply would tell my cousin who recommended this place and never go back. But now 2 weeks later, I have to write to warn people. According to another experienced manicurist, It will be months for my nails to return to normal from the trauma to them... Every time my nail gets to the top of my finger it is so thin and soft it bends and tears. I have to wait until the new growth finally reaches the to top of my fingers and hopefully I will once again get my nails back to the way they once were, At least that's what I hope. Save yourself the physical pain I have gone through and am still feeling, to say nothing of the emotional ... Save your money ... Find a place whose manicurists know what they are doing. read more

I had such high hopes for this place because the groupon was a great deal ($20 gel mani) and the yelp reviews were great, however I had an really bad experience with this place. Everyone was very friendly and the place was clean and new, but I don't think my nail tech had much experience or knew what she was doing. I feel like I could've done a better job myself. Instead of soaking my previous gel nail polish off, she started by electrically filing it, which really hurt my nail bed and made my healthy nails thinner. I told her it was hurting and she proceeded to do it more lightly, but did not stop. Then she didn't use any oil when removing my cuticles and cut into my skin, which is now infected (see picture). As it was profusely bleeding, I kept telling her it really stung but I'm not so sure if she understood me because she didn't do anything about it besides blot the blood off with a tissue. Then the actual manicure was done not neatly at all. The tips of my nails look unfinished and she didn't put polish on the tip to close it off. I'm worried they're going to peel off quickly. They just look messy and not professionally done at all. I'm giving this place two stars because it was cheap and not the worst manicure ever, I'm just very disappointed. The salon is so gorgeous and modern- and the prices are amazing considering how high tech this place this! Jenny makes you feel like you're family! She truly cares about her customers, and wants them to not only look, but feel the most BEAUTIFUL! William at the front desk is the sweetest! He is so kind and personable, and you can tell he loves his job and making people happy! Everyone there is so accommodating. Went to Mai Nails for a much needed manicure and pedicure. The salon is pretty big, clean and bright. It's located in a shopping plaza with tons of parking. Nothing worse than worrying about a parking meter when you're trying to relax. Sandra did both my manicure & pedicure. Although she did up sell me on a dip powder manicure, I really appreciated that she didn't try to pressure me into getting the more expensive "spa" manicure / pedicure.
