The fist time I came based off of their online hours. They were closed. The sign on the door also said they should be open. Okay. I came back on a Saturday just before 7. Again based on their online hours. Closed. Now I'm annoyed. I call next time first. Was told they have different hours and that Friday and Saturday they are opened the latest. Yesterday, 12/23 I arrived at 6:06. CLOSED! But get this. The employee was sitting right there and watched me. The sign in the door says they closed at 6pm. It's now Christmas Eve. I had already had enough but I needed to grab something from DICKS. Made sure to come before they closed. Sign says 4pm. I took a picture. Got here at 3:13pm. Guess what. CLOSEDDDDDDD. I'm big on massages and definitely make them part of my monthly self-care practice, so I've gotten plenty of massages before, some betters than others but Michael has been the best masseuse I've ever encountered so far. Our initial interaction involved me describing and locating the general area that was in pain and he took care of the rest. Telling y'all that this man understood the assignment is an understatement. Not once did I feel like he wasn't targeting my issue. It's as though he fully felt where my pain was and knew how exactly how to not only find but dissolve each knot. Like he was reading my mind almost. At the risk of sounding dramatic, I will say I've truly never had someone understand exactly what my back needs and deliver. True heaven. On the downside, Michael is not easy to schedule. Which speaks on how skillful he is. So if you're looking for a massage therapist at Ridgehill in Yonkers , Michael's your guy. I've tried one other massage therapist from this spot and another in Wilkes-Barre, PA and they've been pretty amazing as well. She used their Dream Dry x Masami products in my hair (shampoo, conditioner & serum) which left my hair feeling clean & shiny and also smells amazing. I was surprised at how beautiful my hair came out and how quickly it was done. I have long hair so it usually takes a lot longer. I also had my brows touched up and lashes tinted by Kim who was really amazing as well. I'll definitely be back for more services. This was by far the WORST experience with eyelashes I've ever had. It's been two weeks and all of my lashes have fallen out. When I got home, I noticed lashes started to fall out immediately that night but I figured it was just a couple of loose ones so I didn't think anything of it. However, I did notice they were uneven -- the right side had way more lashes than the left. I then noticed they continued to fall out all week. Nobody, not even my sisters noticed I had gotten my lashes done and the whole point of getting lashes is for a noticeable difference! $180 for what?! Also, the technician had her hands all over my face and nose the entire time. They were heavy on my forehead and thankfully I don't have sensitive skin but if I did I could've broken out. When working on my left eye, she kept pushing down on one of my nostrils, blocking it and I have a sensitive nose so that was frustrating!! I've never experienced this before and it was so uncomfortable and felt like this was very new to her. I've been getting my lashes done frequently for the past 3 years. I take care of my lashes and brush them so they last long. I always go to Lash Loft in the city because it was near my office but wanted to try somewhere closer to home since my office moved locations. I've paid the same price for lashes that look even, full, and last over a month because that's what it should be like. Such a waste of money and soooo disappointed. Don't come here for lashes because this is NOT what it should be like.

I've been going to the same little shop in Chinatown in the city since I was a broke college kid for ten years. Paying $30 plus tip just to get the job done, just for a semblance of put together hair. Well... I'm a grown up now and it's time for an upgrade, time for new things to try. And comparing Hair Saloon and my little reliable shop... the phrase I would use is you get what you pay for. The quality Brianna and Danielle exposed to me to is something I would never turn my back on now that I've had a taste of it. When I walked into the salon, which shares a little building with a nail salon next door, my nervous little self was greeted with warm smiles and welcomes. I was given a little tour of the cafe/bar side, and then the section where the actual magic begins. Seeing as how they've open during the height of COVID, they're still very infection control friendly! The chairs in the cutting/stying section are more than generously six feet apart, and the chairs by the washing station are separated by clear screens. 10/10 for cleanliness because you see these other businesses and since late 2021, you know hygiene has definitely been thrown out the window. You know you're dishing out a little more $ when there's massage chairs during the hair wash. In my head I was just wow'd because Chinatown could never lol. Brianna was great during the wash. One thing I have to commend them for is the communication step-by-step. She asked me my preferences in shampoo, and I usually opt for products that offer volume, so she introduced me to R&Co, which was pretty much *the* brand that was used on me throughout my appointment. I really appreciated how she explained the different types of shampoo they used and who would benefit from what. The shampoo, the hair serum, and hair spray I'm pretty sold on because I'm that person who's always looking for the next best thing when it comes to hair and face products. Now Danielle. You are the GOAT. Thank you for showing me what it's like to be well taken care of as a client. There is something in that customer service of yours that feels so warm and it's like, of course the business would be 5 stars on here! You're like the big sister of hair, telling me what works and what doesn't.
