I walked in when they first opened on a Thursday morning at 10am and there were no other customers so she was able to take me for a pedicure right away. I was greeted and brought to a pedicure chair. The place was very clean and the chair was very comfortable. There were plenty of nail polish colors to choose from and I chose a bright blue. I got the basic pedicure and she was thorough and asked what shaped I wanted my nails filed and if I wanted them cut. I was able to relax with the massage on the chair. I will definitely make an appointment to come back since the owner had to turn people away to come back later since there are only 4 pedicure chairs. read more

I had a really good experience here. I came for a pedicure on a Saturday, without an appointment and was taken immediately upon arrival. I like that the place was quiet and not at all busy. There were I ly a few patrons being serviced and I didn't have to wait for a seat. They seem clean although they do not use plastic liners for their pedicure foot baths. My nail tech was attentive and did exactly as I directed in regards to my nail shape. I brought my own polish but they do offer a decent array of polishes from which to choose. I was in and out in under 45 minutes. My pedicure looked good and I got a 20% disco on my first service with my check in. read more

Cute little place and I'll be back! The pedicure was extremely thorough. The regular pedicure was $23 but they have two types of J.S special pedicures which are $40 and $50. Both are a good deal, but the $50 includes hot stones. It's a small place whit nice ladies. Only 4 stations so it's best to book an appointment. Easy meter parking outside. Not a big polish selection and I don't think they do dip powder. read more

I've been coming to this salon for years. The staff are friendly and professional. The nail salon is very clean and well kept. There's a large selection of regular nail polish colors and gel polish colors. They offer several services such as waxing, and acrylic. This is my go to salon for manis and pedis both regular and gel. I return because the service is good and the location is convenient. read more

I found this nail salon whilst visiting NY via Yelp. I found free street parking and was pleasantly surprised by the nice atmosphere the nail salon had. The people were friendly and the salon had several floors. The place was clean and they had great prices. I had a manipedi by Elaina. She was considerate and great. I was very happy with my service here. The only thing is that my mani did not last long at all :-(- A few days later and several nails' polish chipped already. read more

I'm not the type of person to write reviews often but I just have to for this place. I have been living in NY for 3.5years now and since I was in the hunt for a decent nail salon. I have gone to other nail salons where my gel manicure has lasted from 4 days to 1.5 weeks. It will now be a little over 2 weeks that I got my nails done here and there are still perfect (other than the normal nail growth). I was helped super quick. I was only serviced by Rosa so I cannot say about the other ladies, but my hunting for a nail salon and nail person is over! read more

I must say that I was pretty scared, because I have a nail lady that I been going to for years and every time I let someone else do my nails I'm never happy with it. I'm very picky when it comes to Customer Service since I've been working it for 11 years now and wow, I'm pretty impressed. I went in for an SNS mami on Saturday and for some reason, last night they started to pop up. I went in today to see if they'd fix the problem. I was pleased with the owner for taking me right away and apologizing. Not something that happens Update: two days later, the sns polish popped up again- safe to say I'll probably never go back. $37 for cheap quality and it's a shame that they're so close to home. read more

I've been going to JS since 2005 and I absolutely love this place! They're reasonably priced especially for the quality of products and services. I recently moved to Atlanta and have been flying back just to get my permanent French CND that I can't find anywhere else. Maria and Rosa are my favorites to get a pedicure but honestly everyone does a good job. Kelly used to do my permanent French for years but now Terri runs the place. I enjoy simple French manicures. They do not do acrylic because it's cheap and harmful so they do not promote or provide it. They are like family. I completely love this place if you enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, quality products and CONSISTENT quality service. read more

This is my third time at J&S Nails. I always get the spa pedi and uv color gel. I will not be going back. The last time I was there, the woman who I had for my pedicure did an excellent job. I wanted her to also do my manicure, but it appears there's a new unspoken rule that the Latinx workers only work on the feet and the Asian workers are allowed to work on the hands. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and furthermore, the (elderly) woman who did my manicure did a terrible job. The paint was uneven and she barely did any cuticle work. read more

I wasn't overly impressed the first time I went to JS Spa & Nails but I was pressed for time and decided to give it another go. Rosa did both my pedicure and my dip powder manicure. One (1) day after getting my manicure I noticed one of my nails was missing the polish. I wasn't going to post a review because why lie ... I'm lazy when it comes to that stuff. But when the polish of another nail just popped off like a press on nail, I just had to comment. Save your money and go elsewhere if you want to do anything other than a regular manicure. read more

I have to say I have never found a place that actually has taken the time to take care of their customer like they should even when they're busy. She didn't rush through anything. Took her time. She double checked just to make sure all nails are cut the same and filed right. Massage was amazing! This was for manicure & pedicure. Clean place. Very nice. Lovely music. Definitely recommend. I love this place ! I've been quite a few times and I always leave happy, the staff is very friendly and polite, and they're also good at what they do. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of my technician but I'm pretty sure she's the owner, Terry. I usually get a gel polish manicure and I appreciate that she always takes the time to take the polish off correctly by soaking and filing, instead of just using the mechanical file which destroys your nails ! I'm also an eyebrow snob who never cheats on my eyebrow lady but was desperate today and got them done here. She did a great job. Goodbye Frida ! There's metered parking but I can never get lucky and find a spot. Only reason they don't get 5 stars. read more

I made an appointment for my mom and I for 4:45 pm. We got there 30 mins earlier because I called the reservation line letting them know I needed to take a prior set off, which they told me to come earlier. We arrived at 4:15 & i didn't start until around 5:20/30. The girl doing my nails had a slight attitude but she did express she wasn't able to take a break or have lunch, so I'm extremely understanding. Unfortunately, all those factors affected her work. Her removing my nails and completing my new set took over 3 hours. I've been doing my nails for over a decade and I've never been to a place that took that long, ever! The work was nice (which she had another person finish towards the end) but the time, constant complaining, and waiting just couldn't out weigh the over all. I also did a pedicure which was below sub par because it is a SINK. There are no jets, no bubbles and my feet were rinsed with a disposable cup. At that point I was annoyed and just wanted to leave. My toe nails were not cut evenly and that made the already stressful experience worse. I did gel polish, and it looks just horrible. Not to mention the price tag was not worth it. It's less than a month later, I have 1 broken nail and the rest are slowly detaching from the acrylic. I will not be back.

My nails are chipping after 3 days and i have Gel on. Secondly, i got over charged for my service. I've gone here before and never got charged as much as i did in this trip. My pedicure got cut short for one because the owner was rushing to get my lashes done. I asked for a hologram design and was just given a square of it that doesn't cover my full name, i asked for more and she added some glitter pieces that STILL did not cover my full nail. With the price i paid i expected a service that's way more respectable and at least expected a Good Job to be done but i was left disappointed. She lost a customer, that's all i have to say.

Place is clean and quiet, the Asian lady, not Terry, made little effort with the pedicure. She never cleaned under the nails even though I insisted on her doing it. I asked her to cut the sides and she told me my nail is the right shape..but, the shape was not my concern. I asked her what her name was when she started my nails and I could clearly tell she gave a wrong name. She stuttered and couldn't even get her own name right...smh. I noticed she wasn't breaking down or filing the old acrylic off the nail properly, she just glued it down. You could clearly see where water had gotten under the nail previously. She kept telling me it would be fine. Well, it wasn't, I had a light pink color and you can see how horrible the job was...she had to put 4 coats. I was so annoyed. I tried to explain to Terry, but she was more concerned about rushing to close up, she showed no concern. Nails weren't even dry properly, she slapped that oil on and told me it will dry outside faster. I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

I thought this was a good place with decent work, but no it's not. Like I came yesterday on my birthday and she was very nice and did a great job (so it seemed) she did what I wanted with the design even though she said she wasn't good at it. Then while I was out the second finger in my right hand broke less then 10 hours after they were done. Mind you I have UV gel tips. So I came back today and she was like can you come back in an hour. No I can't. I've already come back. Okay so she does it. Great. I walk out the door into my car and touch it, white lines smudge. Walk back in and here I am drying for a third time. The fourth time there were bumps. So she redid it but then the blue had marks from all the filing. That's five. Here we are on number 6. Let's see where we get. read more

With the new renovations and ownership, this nail salon has been a neighborhood hot spot. First off, the place is kept very clean and there's a nice and open atmosphere. The staff are super welcoming and they definitely try to strike up nice conversations. They also seem to have reoccurring customers' names down, which shows how much effort they put into customer satisfaction and care. The owner, Terry, is also adamant on respect- not only the staff to the customers, but also on staff to staff and customers to staff. Definitely would go again if I'm ever in the neighborhood! read more

Had a great experience at Terry's Spa & Nails! They are under new management and have recently renovated the whole store. They give 10% off for Yelp check-ins so I went in for a color gel manicure and the owner gave me a warm greeting and had me seated right away. Overall, very happy and will definitely be back. I watched the owner converse with her customers and I could tell she had a great relations with them. I really appreciate small business owners who care for their customers like friends. read more

The first time, I called ahead to ask how much gel nails would be and was told $45. When I went in and got them done, the final bill was $120. When I asked why, I was told it was because I got chrome -- which I didn't. Then the story changed to it being because I received a massage. I was never asked if I wanted a massage, nor was I told it would cost extra -- let alone $80 extra. The second time, the same thing happened: services were added on that I didn't ask for, and when I questioned the total, she panicked, clearly realizing the mistake, and offered a discount for next time -- which doesn't make up for overcharging me in the moment. This place consistently adds on charges without transparency or consent and then can't get their story straight. I highly recommend getting your nails done elsewhere.
