Unfortunately after many years of going there, I am done. The place is dirty. Nail clips, nail files etc .. are gross. They do not sterilize their tools. The lotions smell weird. I have been coming here for years and today they are charging me $20 to remove gel polish for mani and peri after they were the ones who put it on. Makes no sense. I have been to other salons who did not charge to remove the polish. After I completed my pedicure and started the removal of the manicure. While I don't get my nails done regularly, when I do I go to Jade. The service is friendly and professional, the salon is clean, prices are reasonable and lastly the nail service is always great. Today I went with my daughter and showed the nail tech a pintrest picture. She matched it perfectly without even knowing the name of the polish. I'm glad this salon is in my neighborhood. Not only were the nails all different shapes and lengths, they started lifting and falling off six days after I got them done. I've been going here for years. My nails are naturally long. I recently switched to powder gel manicures from regular color gel manicures to help with maintaining the length of my nails over the last 4 months. I've found that Salon Jade's powder manicure services have progressively gotten worse and as such I need to document my experience. My manicure experience yesterday was by far the worst. Connie took approximately an hour and 45 minutes to complete my powder gel manicure alone. This is usually the amount of time I take for both a manicure and pedicure. She clearly didn't know what she was doing and rather than ask any of the other technicians proceeded to butcher the job. When soaking my nails, instead of scrubbing or wiping the gel off she tried to use a nail file. The remnants dried all over my fingers. She then tried to use a cuticle clipper to pull the dried acetone/gel mixture off of my fingers. WTH I wasn't convinced that she brought over the shade I initially requested, but I didn't wholly mind the shade of pink she picked so I let it slide. She over buffed my nails and failed to use adequate sealant and top coat. I knew something was off mostly when she kept telling my nails were not dry yet and asked that I sit under the fans up front. The purpose of getting gel manicures is to not have to deal with a wet or smudged nail. She repeatedly sprayed the activator spray ruining the top coat finish. She buffed the nail so hard that the polish lost the opaqueness. At the end she tried to cover my giving me an extra hand massage. By the time I arrived home 30 minutes later my nails felt noticeably rough, and the shiny smooth top coat layer was mostly gone. So disappointed. Time to find a new salon. * sigh * read more

I have been going to this salon for some time. I am there every two weeks. Michelle is the woman i have work on me, and she is outstanding. Today i had an appointment at 11am manicure and pedicure. When i arrived at 10:50 the male owner greeted me and i said Michelle at 11 and he said no Michelle is booked. I said i have an appointment he said no you have an appt with Ann, and she is good too. I have no idea who Ann is??? I said i made the appt two weeks ago while sitting at the dryer table?? i said no its fine i will come another day and he said go go, As if i am a child While staring at the wall. Then he crossed my name off and threw the appt book across the counter top, like having a temper tantrum. I was in disbelief with his actions. His wife walked over to see what was going on, once he told her she just walked away. I have no idea what was his problem but extremely rude! Oddly two weeks ago while doing my pedicure a black woman walked in asking if they had an ATM and the owner said go to the Barber Shop. So the woman left. Then about 2min after another black woman walked in and he greeted her, she apparently is a customer. She told him that she had sent in her family member to use the ATM because she was sitting in the car. Why did he sent her to the Barber Shop? Is his ATM not working? He said yes it is and then stared into the wall, she then walked out in disgust. Very disappointed in what happened today. I am a paying customer as are all customers and how dare he think he can talk and treat anyone in this manner!!! Terrible customer service!!! Awful experience. The fact that you see more negative reviews than positive reviews is not a mistake. Went to get acrylic tips. Left the salon feeling satisfied, until the next day a nail FELL OFF. Went back to fix it, and they charged. Ok no problem. Then the next day .. TWO MORE NAILS fell off. They refused to fix them and wanted me to come back THE FOLLOWING day. I told them that was unacceptable and the owner then tried to accuse me of lying about going their in the first place ? He claimed ALL women were saying they had never seen me before when I went TWICE. After refusing to leave I got my money back and went straight to Superior Nail. Have been going since. This was my first and last time going here. I paid $60 for a gel fill with a design, 1 nail on each hand I had dots. What really irritated me was I paid for a gel fill, the fill part was gel but the top coat and color they used acrylic paint. The color ended up coming off on each corner within 4 days. The dots were terribly placed with streak marks, so they didn't look like dots. While filling she hit my skin on every nail. Came here for a quick pedicure since we were leaving for the weekend. Had a decent pedicure at this establishment. The Pedicurist, Kim gave me nice brief foot massage and cleaned up my cuticles well. Would've loved if she would have used the pumice stone a bit more since it seems she only passed by 3 times on each foot. I dont have any corns but a proper pedicure should slough off dead skin or smoothen the sole of your feet. My impression of the place was tidy and well organized. They have a few closed off areas for massage-only and waxing services. Their restroom was very clean and had a spa-like look which I thought was very nice. There's a young Latin lady that comes around and offers massages as you're at the drying station. By the way the drying station didn't seem to be drying my toes which I felt was strange however I guess the quick dry is what they use to help speed the process, for $1.00 more and you cut drying time in half. Next time I go I will try their other services such as their massage or an enhanced Spa pedicure so if that goes well I will revise this review. read more

Ummmmmmm negatron. Don't waste your time/money. The woman who did my pedi asked me 4x if I wanted the deluxe spa pedi and I said no each time. "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm sure, I just want a regular pedicure." Now, I'm sure I said "regular" and not "express", but nevertheless, I was in and out of there in 13 minutes. And I looked at the price board and they don't even had an express pedicure and she still charged me the price of a regular one, $15. She barely used a pumice stone on the bottom of my feet and didn't clean up around the nailbeds. She pretty much just cut my nails, filed them and painted them. No lotion, no 60-second leg massage, nothing. Waste of money, don't bother. read more

I've been going here for years and I honestly don't know why I haven't stopped sooner. The staff here is rude, and the owner is horrible no costumer service at all. I went in with my mom today for a quick pedicure...EVERY TIME I GO IN AND ASK FOR A REGULAR ANYTHING I AM LOOKED AT FUNNY. I also don't like that they can't seem to hear me when I say regular and feel the need to ask me 3 or more times if I'm sure. Today was the icing on the cake...not only was I harassed for more add ons, but when the lady brought my change and I tried to grab it from her (I was holding a larger bill to tip her with but I guess she didn't see that) she pulled back her arm with my money still in her hand...I'm assuming she wanted me to say "oh that's for you" ....RUDE!! ALso, Jason who gave me a message...I was waiting for my mom to Finnish with her stuff so we could give him a tip for his mediocre messages when he came over to me and said "and by the way I'm Jason.." (Grabbing his name tag and pointing to his tip Jar...) BEGGING or DEMANDING for your tip is obnoxious. I must say I've been to MANY nail salons but this definitely hits the top of the list. The staff is friendly, decent sized salon, and clean. I recently got their gel manicure and it did EVERTHING it promised it would. It lasted the full 2 weeks and if only my own natural nails didn't grow so fast I could've and would've kept it on longer. As mentioned earlier, as you are drying your nails, a gentleman will come over to you and "ask" first if you'd like a massage. Now don't be mistaken, it's not the type of massage that you get from other nail salons in which your manicurist comes over and gives you some short, cheesy 1, 2 did nothing for you 30 second back massage. This guy "really" massages you; neck, upper middle and lower kneading type of rub down which for me seemed like it lasted at least 10 minutes. Anyways, I highly recommend this place. I have gone to this nail salon several times over the past 6 months. when i first started going, i loved it! my mani and pedi were AMAZING! but the last time i went, i did a gel mani and it chipped the next day. I went back again Saturday (February 28th) and did a UV gel tip full set. It was my first time and i wasn't sure what to expect. so i let her do my nails. When i was done, i liked it but she didn't listen to me. i wanted oval nails, not oval tip. but i said what the hell, lets just go with it. I got home, took a shower, got dressed, and already one nail was comming loose. The next day (Sunday, March 1st) WHILE COMBING MY HAIR, it came off!! and now all my nails are falling apart. please dont go if you want a professional to do your tips. the service is good, attentive, could work on their pedicures (dont clean much), and they dont clean the nails before doing tips. waste of my money and time. read more

I've been here twice and Michelle has worked on me. The first time I just got a gel manicure and loved her work. I came back a few weeks later and had an appointment with Michelle for gel manicure, pedicure and eyebrow waxing. I again loved my gel manicure. I found a picture that I liked and showed her and she was able to do. My pedicure could of been better but she did a good job. The only thing I wasn't happy with was my eyebrows. If they see that you do not have money or don't think you will tip well they do an awful job. So I'm in an ultimate search for that perfect salon in Yonkers and I can't seem to find the one salon that has a great color selection and really works on your feet. Here they have a good color selection but they do not work on your feet as much. Paid extra for a Callus remover and the next day my heal was dry again. Salon Jade has a beautiful decor, but that's about it. I've been coming here for the past several months since I only live blocks away. I'd come for manicures and pedicures, and each time they'd try to pressure me into getting a massage. I don't understand why a simple no doesn't work here. I thought 'no' meant 'no'... I treated my boyfriend recently to a pedicure and the staff would not stop trying to pressure him to go to the back for a massage. Every time he would decline, they would apply a random discount for the massage. Ladies,don't be creepy. While their pedicures are worth every dollar, the deal breaker for me was getting a $40 gel manicure just to have to return the next day to get nails fixed. They have very poor customer service and are so eager to move customers out like a revolving door that they don't pay close attention to detail. Came here because I wanted to try a new place that could give me a proper mani and pedi. It's hard to find a good place around my area that I don't have to wait an hour before being serviced. I went and immediate was taken care of. The service was great and the staff was friendly; however the lady (sunny) that did my mani and pedi rushed through the whole thing. I felt that I was jipped, she didn't even scrub my foot properly even though I don't need a lot of scrubbing to begin with. She also did a sloppy job on my cuticles on both my hands and feet. I hate to write such a negative review...I'm not sure why. I've been going to Jade for about 2 years now and like the rest of the reviewers I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to stop. It's convenient, they have a lot of colors to choose from, it's next to Starbucks, but unfortunately those are about the only positive points. When I first started going the manager (owner?) was always very dismissive and rude but I think she must have started to recognize me because she started being really nice a few months ago. I wasn't rushed to pick a color anymore (I'm a bad decision maker) and she would stop by and watch my manicurists and occasionally correct them. I never had any issues with her like the other reviewers but I do believe she is getting better. She has been asking me recently whether I'm happy or if everything is "okay". It's like she can sense my dissatisfaction. I should have spoken up but honestly I didn't want to have to confess 2 years of complaints through a language barrier. My biggest complaint is just the shear inconsistency among the staff. My last manicure was what did me in. My cuticles were barely touched, the polish doesn't even cover my entire nail and it was done in about 10 minutes. I got a quick dry top coat for $1 extra (which I never do because I don't think it makes a difference) and sat under the fan (which one of the men accidentally turned off instead of on when I sat down so I had to turn it on myself) for about 10-15 minutes. Within a MINUTE of leaving one of my nails had completely smudged. Now I'm aware that's all my own fault, but I thought the quick dry would have made a difference. I sheepishly came back to get it fixed and the new manicurist who offered to help me was looking at my other nails in horror, trying to touch them all up, as if the woman who just did my nail had done a poor job. She had, but I was too embarrassed to let her fix anything other than the one I had messed up. I tipped her and said thank you and I will never go back. I hate how they push specialty pedicures all of the time. I hate those weird "UV" "sanitizing" things that you know aren't really cleaning the instruments. I hate the pushy massage guys. I hate how none of the manicurists clean UNDER your nails, and then when I ask they cop an attitude. But honestly, the thing that I hate, above anything else is how during the pedicures they don't let you soak your feet AT ALL. They fill the water while you're sitting in the chair and then rush through your 15 minute "regular" pedicure so your feet are only in the water for a minute or two. I just want to soak my feet for a few minutes and sit there and chill out. Everything at Jade is a rush. I'm just not sure why it took me so long to move on. On a related note, does it bother anyone else that they all wear Americanized name tags when their licenses are on the mirrors behind them, blatantly displaying their real names? And the women who come in ask for "Coco", "Nina", "Jessica", "Jason", etc. I get that it's easy for us to say but I feel like it's dehumanizing. read more

The quality of the mani/pedi was bad on my last (and final) visit...cuticles half cut, nails still rough after a filing, polish not cleaned up. This is my go -to salon. It's large enough that I don't feel cramped or rushed. It's clean. Everyone who works there is very friendly. I agree with the previous reviewer...the hydrating pedicure is awesome. So is the hydrating manacure. Both are especially great in the winter. They have a large selection of colors...mostly Essie, with a small OPI selection and some other brand I'm not too familiar with. They have someone who offers you a massage while you're at the dryer...love that! read more
